寄生性연충류의 Peroxidase와 Polyphenol Oxidase에 관한 組織化學的硏究
全銘鶴 中央醫學社 1967 中央醫學 Vol.12 No.5
Histochemical studies on peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase in the parasitic helminths of various kinds of hosts and different sites were carried out and the following results were obtained: 1. Peroxidase Activity: In Trematodes, a considerable peroxidase activity was found in the reticular tissue, the oral sucker, the intestine, the vitelline glands and the ovary of Paragonimus westermani, as well as in Clonorchis sinensis, Fasciola hepatica, Eurytrema pancreaticum. On the other hand, in Nematodes, the peroxidase activity was noted more abundantly in the subcuticular tissuses and the eggs than in the other tissues such as the testis or the ovary; no activity was detected in the cuticle. Similar findings were obtained with Cestodes. 2. Polyphenol oxidase Activity: The polyphenol oxidase activity was found in both the egg-shells and the vitelline glands of Paragonimus westermani, Clonorchis sinensis, Fasciola hepatica, Eurytrema pancreaticum, Diphyllobothrium mansoni, and Taenia solium. However, in Ascaris lumbricoides, Toxacara canis and Toxocara cati of the Nematoda category, the activity was found in both the egg-shells and the uterine wall. These observations indicate that there is no appreciable difference in the distribution of peroxidase activity with respect to the types of tissues and the host. On the other hand, polyphenol oxidase activity seems to be mainly distributed in the egg-shell as well as in the vitelline glands. The latter finding many be taken as evidence in support of a theory that polyphenol oxidase is somehow related to the egg-shell formation.
