Utilization of resistant starch (RS) and apricot kernel flour (AKF) as fat replacers in cookies were examined and effects of fruit powders on the quality of low-fat cookies were investigated. A slight increase in the spread ratios of RS/AKF supplemented cookies were observed up to 20% level. The hardness of RS and RS/AKF supplemented cookies increased above 10% level. Sensory scores of RS and RS/AKF supplemented cookies were not different from the control. Total dietary fiber contents of RS and RS/AKF supplemented cookies increased with increasing level. Apricot powder (APR-P)supplemented cookies had higher spread ratios compared to the apple powder (APL-P) supplemented ones above 10% level. APL-P supplemented cookies had higher hardness and L* and lower a* than APR-P supplemented ones. APR-P appeared to be a more suitable replacer than APL-P up to 30% level.

In the present study, we derive the problem of constructing a hypersur-face family from a given isogeodesic curve in the 4D Galilean space G4: We obtain the hypersurface as a linear combination of the Frenet frame in G4 and examine the necessary and sufficient conditions for the curve as a geodesic curve: Finally, some examples related to our method are given for the sake of clarity.

This paper investigates the effects of heat pipes filled with water and nanoparticles (MgO) on electricity generation. The experimental setup comprises of two-phase thermo-syphon heat pipes filled with water or MgO nanoparticle-water suspension, thermoelectric generator (TEG) modules and heat sinks that use passive and active cooling systems. Concentrated solar radiation with heat pipes was used as a heat source for heating. Specially constructed heat sinks with coolant tunnels were used for cooling. Heating and cooling processes are needed to create a temperature difference to generate electrical energy. The constructed model represents the influence of basic parameters such as the tilt angle of heat pipes, working fluids, cooling process, etc. on the maximum power generated. Systems in the constructed setup were arranged with a specific angle to the incident angle of solar radiation. The experiment was carried out on August 5th, 2015, in the northern coast of Turkey, city of Samsun with latitude of 41o14’ N. The results obtained show that the presented experimental setup can be used to evaluate thermoelectric energy potential of local areas or to investigate optimum cooling or heating processes.
