In this paper the harmonics characteristics were analysed in industrial power systems using PTW(Power Tool Window). Some unknown input data, cable and transformer, were estimated by the approximation method. It is found that the high level harmonics are mainly caused by electric power conversion equipments used for rotating loads. Especially, it was observed that the maximum voltage waveform distortion rate appears at the low voltage bus for DC drive and the voltage and current waveforms are much irregular than those of the other loads.

This paper proposed the implementation of an integrated software package to run under MS-DOS for the analysis of electric power system. Simulation package is composed of the system configuration. the system data and the system analysis part. System configuratuon is a graphic of bus. generator and load, while system data is entered directly through tabular windows. System analysis program contains the three menus ; the load flow, the fault analysis and the stability analysis. This simulation package proves to be useful for educational and research purposes.

Proper representation of load is important and difficult in power system stability studies. This is the result of the lack of information regarding the loads all over the system and lack of a tool to develop models on a large scale basis. In this paper, a dynamic equivalent load model based on the parameters identification technique is proposed. It is sutiable for representing load dynamics in stability and other dynamic analysis studies, and can be developed without the need for data gathering from the load side of the distribution system.
