      • Magnetic ground state of the multiferroic hexagonal LuFeO3

        Suresh, Pittala,Vijaya Laxmi, K.,Bera, A. K.,Yusuf, S. M.,Chittari, Bheema Lingam,Jung, Jeil,Anil Kumar, P. S. American Physical Society 2018 Physical Review B Vol.97 No.18

<P>The structural, electric, and magnetic properties of bulk hexagonal LuFeO3 are investigated. Single phase hexagonal LuFeO3 has been successfully stabilized in the bulk form without any doping by sol-gel method. The hexagonal crystal structure with P6(3)cm space group has been confirmed by x-ray-diffraction, neutron-diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy study at room temperature. Neutron diffraction confirms the hexagonal phase of LuFeO3 persists down to 6 K. Further, the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy established the 3+ oxidation state of Fe ions. The temperature-dependent magnetic dc susceptibility, specific heat, and neutron-diffraction studies confirm an antiferromagnetic ordering below the Neel temperature (T-N) similar to 130 K. Analysis of magnetic neutron-diffraction patterns reveals an in-plane (ab-plane) 120 degrees antiferromagnetic structure, characterized by a propagation vector k = (0 0 0) with an ordered moment of 2.84 mu(B)/Fe3+ at 6 K. The 120 degrees antifferomagnetic ordering is further confirmed by spin-orbit coupling density functional theory calculations. The on-site coulomb interaction (U) and Hund's parameter (J(H)) on Fe atoms reproduced the neutron-diffraction Gamma(1) spin pattern among the Fe atoms. P-E loop measurements at room temperature confirm an intrinsic ferroelectricity of the sample with remnant polarization P-r similar to 0.18 mu(C) cm(2). A clear anomaly in the dielectric data is observed at similar to T-N revealing the presence of magnetoelectric coupling. A change in the lattice constants at T-N has also been found, indicating the presence of a strong magnetoelastic coupling. Thus a coupling between lattice, electric, and magnetic degrees of freedom is established in bulk hexagonal LuFeO3.</P>

Purification and Characterization of Extracellular Tannin Acyl Hydrolase from Aspergillus heteromorphus MTCC 8818

        Vinod Chhokar,Vikas Beniwal,Anil Kumar,J. S. Rana,Seema,Raj Kumar Salar,K. S. Nehra 한국생물공학회 2010 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.15 No.5

A tannase (E.C. 3.1.1.20) producing fungal strain was isolated from soil and identified as Aspergillus heteromorphus MTCC 8818. Maximum tannase production was achieved on Czapek Dox minimal medium containing 1% tannic acid at a pH of 4.5 and 30°C after 48 h incubation. The crude enzyme was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and ion exchange chromatography. Diethylaminoethyl-cellulose column chromatography led to an overall purification of 39.74-fold with a yield of 19.29%. Optimum temperature and pH for tannase activity were 50°C and 5.5 respectively. Metal ions such as Ca2+,Fe2+, Cu1+, and Cu2+ increased tannase activity, whereas Hg2+, Na1+, K1+, Zn2+, Ag1+, Mg2+, and Cd2+ acted as enzyme inhibitors. Various organic solvents such as isopropanol, isoamyl alcohol, benzene, methanol, ethanol, toluene, and glycerol also inhibited enzyme activity. Among the surfactants and chelators studied, Tween 20, Tween 80, Triton X-100, EDTA, and 1, 10-o-phenanthrolein inhibited tannase activity, whereas sodium lauryl sulfate enhanced tannase activity at 1% (w/v).

Interleukin-1B (IL-1B-31 and IL-1B-511) and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) gene polymorphisms in primary immune thrombocytopenia

        Deependra Kumar Yadav,Anil Kumar Tripathi,Divya Gupta,Saurabh Shukla,Aloukick Kumar Singh,Ashutosh Kumar,Jyotsna Agarwal,K. N. Prasad 대한혈액학회 2017 Blood Research Vol.51 No.4

Background: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an immune-mediated disease caused by autoanti-bodies against platelets membrane glycoproteins GPIIb/IIIa and GPIb/IX. The etiology of ITP remains unclear. This study evaluated the association of polymorphisms in interleukin (IL)-1B-31, IL-1B-511, and IL-1Ra with ITP. Methods: Genotyping of IL-1B-31, IL-1B-511, and IL-1Ra was performed in 118 ITP patients and 100 controls by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism and detection of variable number tandem repeats. Results: Genotype differences in IL-1B-31 and IL-1Ra were significantly associated with ITP. Patients showed a higher frequency of the IL-1B-31 variant allele (T) and a 1.52-fold greater risk of susceptibility to ITP (odds ratio [OR]=1.52, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.04‒2.22, P=0.034). The frequencies of both homozygous and heterozygous variant geno-types of IL-1B-31 were higher (OR=2.33, 95% CI=1.069‒5.09, P=0.033 and OR=2.044, 95% CI=1.068‒39, P=0.034) among patients and were significantly associated with ITP susceptibility. Both homozygous and heterozygous variant genotypes of IL-1Ra were also more frequent (OR=4.48, 95% CI=1.17‒17.05, P=0.0230 and OR=1.80, 95% CI=1.03‒3.14, P=0.0494) among patients and were associated with ITP risk. IL-1B-31 and IL-1Ra also showed significant association with severe ITP. However, IL-1B-511 was not asso-ciated with ITP. Conclusion: IL-1B-31 and IL-1Ra polymorphisms may significantly impact ITP risk, and they could be associated with disease severity, which may contribute to the pathogenesis of ITP.

Investigation of molten fuel coolant interaction phenomena using real time X-ray imaging of simulated woods metal-water system

        Avinash Kumar Acharya,Anil Kumar Sharma,Ch.S.S.S. Avinash,Sanjay Kumar Das,Lydia Gnanadhas,B.K. Nashine,P. Selvaraj 한국원자력학회 2017 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.49 No.7

In liquid metal fast breeder reactors, postulated failures of the plant protection system may lead toserious unprotected accidental consequences. Unprotected transients are generically categorized astransient overpower accidents and transient under cooling accidents. In both cases, core meltdown mayoccur and this can lead to a molten fuel coolant interaction (MFCI). The understanding of MFCI phenomenais essential for study of debris coolability and characteristics during post-accident heat removal. Sodium is used as coolant in liquid metal fast breeder reactors. Viewing inside sodium at elevatedtemperature is impossible because of its opaqueness. In the present study, a methodology to depict MFCIphenomena using a flat panel detector based imaging system (i.e., real time radiography) is brought outusing a woods metal-water experimental facility which simulates the UO2-Na interaction. The developedimaging system can capture attributes of the MFCI process like jet breakup length, jet front velocity, fragmented particle size, and a profile of the debris bed using digital image processing methods likeimage filtering, segmentation, and edge detection. This paper describes the MFCI process and developedimaging methodology to capture MFCI attributes which are directly related to the safe aspects of a sodiumfast reactor.

Proteomic Analysis of Global Changes in Protein Expression During Exposure of Gamma Radiation in Bacillus sp. HKG 112 Isolated from Saline Soil

( Gupta Anil Kumar ),( Rajiv Pathak ),( Bharat Singh ),( Hemlata Gautam ),( Ram Kumar ),( Raj Kumar ),( Rajesh Arora ),( Hemant K. Gautam ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2011 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.21 No.6

A Gram-positive bacterium was isolated from the saline soils of Jangpura (U.P.), India, and showed high-level of radiation-resistant property and survived upto 12.5 kGy dose of gamma radiation. The 16S rDNA sequence of this strain was examined, identified as Bacillus sp. strain HKG 112, and was submitted to the NCBI GenBank (Accession No. GQ925432). The mechanism of radiation resistance and gene level expression were examined by proteomic analysis of whole-cell extract. Two proteins, 38 kDa and 86.5 kDa excised from SDS-PAGE, which showed more significant changes after radiation exposure, were identified by MALDI-TOF as being flagellin and S-layer protein, respectively. Twenty selected 2-DE protein spots from the crude extracts of Bacillus sp. HKG 112, excised from 2- DE, were identified by liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) out of which 16 spots showed significant changes after radiation exposure and might be responsible for the radiation resistance property. Our results suggest that the different responses of some genes under radiation for the expression of radiation-dependent proteins could contribute to a physiological advantage and would be a significant initial step towards a fullsystem understanding of the radiation stress protection mechanisms of bacteria in different environments.

MHD WAVES IN A STRATIFIED VISCOUS SOLAR ATMOSPHERE

        KUMAR, NAGENDRA,KUMAR, ANIL,MURAWSKI, K. The Korean Astronomical Society 2015 天文學論叢 Vol.30 No.2

We study MHD wave propagation in a gravitationally stratified isothermal viscous atmosphere of the Sun, permeated by a uniform magentic field. We perform numerical simulations by launching a slow wave on the upper boundary. The driven slow wave propagates down from low-${\beta}$ to high-${\beta}$ plasma across the region where the plasma ${\beta}$ is unity. It is found that mode conversion takes place at $z{\approx}-1.8$ in the layer ${\beta}{\approx}1$. The amplitudes of horizontal and vertical velocites are smaller than those obtained in the absence of viscosity.

      • A Novel Searching Algorithm based on Reinforcement Learning

        Anil Kumar Yadav,A. K. Sachan 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.6

We introduce an application-oriented reinforcement learning searching algorithm designed for problem with fast learning and capturing goal in less amount of time especially in robotics and games. The importance of game playing in machine learning is an exhaustive application of autonomous agent in real-world problem domain. In our previous published article represent that how autonomous agent learned through self-training and successful trained agent ready for execution [11].In this paper, we design and proposed a new application-oriented searching algorithm especially for game playing in grid world problem. In which first of all agents train all state and able to capture goal successfully. Reinforcement learning is a type of decision making system that takes decision on the basis of reward or penalty signal and learned from environment. Many games, there are no such things that follow fast learning as well as searching and genuine movement for each step. For every state action agent stored previous values in terms of q values in a look-up table. It helps for agent decision making capability during goal hitting or pray captured in the real-world game. In order to access and simulate new searching algorithms in mat lab and evaluated by comparison with different RL techniques [2, 11-12].

SEM Observations on the Perithecia of Phyllactinia corylea Causing Powdery Mildew Disease in Mulberry

        Kumar, Vineet,Dhar, Anil,Gupta, V.P.,Babu, A.M.,Sarkar, A.,Datta, R.K. Korean Society of Sericultural Science 2001 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.3 No.1

Surface morphology of perithecia of the powdery mildew fungus of mulberry, Phyllactinia corylea is described under scanning electron microscope. The perithecia have penicellate cells on the upper surface and at an average 17 acicular appendages towards the lower surface each emerging from a bulbous base. Many perithecial walls towards the base have shrunken walls. When the perithecia dry out they are pushed above the leaf surface by the acicular append-ages which then bend at the base. The bending of the appendages may be attributed to the shrinkage of lower wall cells due to loss of water.
