It is on the foundation of the interconnectedness of general education and the liberal arts and the relationship between the liberal arts and democracy that the continuation of a university general education program has cogency in the 21<sup>st</sup> century. General education must be linked to and through technology, connected with all majors, including professional programs, created for digital natives who could learn to use their technology skills to gather, organize, critique, and contextualize the information available to them online to address the great human challenges, including climate change, economic inequality, migration, and infectious diseases. Calling for contextualized globalism, non-linearity, and interdisciplinarity, this is a revision of general education in higher education.
