      • Quasi Steady Stall Modelling of Aircraft Using Least-Square Method

Verma, Hari Om,Peyada, N.K. The Society for Aerospace System Engineering 2020 International Journal of Aerospace System Engineer Vol.7 No.1

Quasi steady stall is a phenomenon to characterize the aerodynamic behavior of aircraft at high angle of attack region. Generally, it is exercised from a steady state level flight to stall and its recovery to the initial flight in a calm weather. For a theoretical study, such maneuver is demonstrated in the form of aerodynamic model which consists of aircraft's stability and control derivatives. The current research paper is focused on the appropriate selection of aerodynamic model for the maneuver and estimation of the unknown model coefficients using least-square method. The statistical accuracy of the estimated parameters is presented in terms of standard deviations. Finally, the validation has been presented by comparing the measured data to the simulated data from different models.

Remote Login Authentication Scheme based on Bilinear Pairing and Fingerprint

( Shipra Kumari ),( Hari Om ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.12

The bilinear pairing, also known as Weil pairing or Tate pairing, is widely used in cryptography and its properties help to construct cryptographic schemes for different applications in which the security of the transmitted data is a major concern. In remote login authentication schemes, there are two major requirements: i) proving the identity of a user and the server for legitimacy without exposing their private keys and ii) freedom for a user to choose and change his password (private key) efficiently. Most of the existing methods based on the bilinear property have some security breaches due to the lack of features and the design issues. In this paper, we develop a new scheme using the bilinear property of an elliptic point and the biometric characteristics. Our method provides many features along with three major goals. a) Checking the correctness of the password before sending the authentication message, which prevents the wastage of communication cost; b) Efficient password change phase in which the user is asked to give a new password after checking the correctness of the current password without involving the server; c) User anonymity - enforcing the suitability of our scheme for applications in which a user does not want to disclose his identity. We use BAN logic to ensure the mutual authentication and session key agreement properties. The paper provides informal security analysis to illustrate that our scheme resists all the security attacks. Furthermore, we use the AVISPA tool for formal security verification of our scheme.

Overall efficiency enhancement and cost optimization of semitransparent photovoltaic thermal air collector

Beniwal, Ruby,Tiwari, Gopal Nath,Gupta, Hari Om Electronics and Telecommunications Research Instit 2020 ETRI Journal Vol.42 No.1

A semitransparent photovoltaic-thermal (PV/T) air collector can produce electricity and heat simultaneously. To maximize the thermal and overall efficiency of the semitransparent PV/T air collector, its availability should be maximum; this can be determined through a Markov analysis. In this paper, a Markov model is developed to select an optimized number of semitransparent PV modules in service with five states and two states by considering two parameters, namely failure rate (λ) and repair rate (μ). Three artificial neural network (ANN) models are developed to obtain the minimum cost, minimum temperature, and maximum thermal efficiency of the semitransparent PV/T air collector by setting its type appropriately and optimizing the number of photovoltaic modules and cost. An attempt is also made to achieve maximum thermal and overall efficiency for the semitransparent PV/T air collector by using ANN after obtaining its minimum temperature and available solar radiation.

Two Modified Z-Source Inverter Topologies - Solutions to Start-Up Dc-Link Voltage Overshoot and Source Current Ripple

Dave Heema Bharatkumar,Dheerendra Singh,Hari Om Bansal 전력전자학회 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.6

This paper proposes two modified Z-source inverter topologies, namely an embedded L-Z-source inverter (EL-ZSI) and a coupled inductor L-Z source inverter (CL-ZSI). The proposed topologies offer a high voltage gain with a reduced passive component count and reduction in source current ripple when compared to conventional ZSI topologies. Additionally, they prevent overshoot in the dc-link voltage by suppressing heavy inrush currents. This feature reduces the transition time to reach the peak value of the dc-link voltage, and reduces the risk of component failure and overrating due to the inrush current. EL-ZSI and CL-ZSI possess all of the inherent advantages of the conventional L-ZSI topology while eliminating its drawbacks. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed topologies, MATLAB/Simulink models and scaled down laboratory prototypes were constructed. Experiments were performed at a low shoot through duty ratio of 0.1 and a modulation index as high as 0.9 to obtain a peak dc-link voltage of 53 V. This paper demonstrates the superiority of the proposed topologies over conventional ZSI topologies through a detailed comparative analysis. Moreover, experimental results verify that the proposed topologies would be advantageous for renewable energy source applications since they provide voltage gain enhancement, inrush current, dc-link voltage overshoot suppression and a reduction of the peak to peak source current ripple.

Assessment of population structure and genetic diversity of German Angora rabbit through pedigree analysis

        Rahim Abdul,Rajaravindra K S,Chaturvedi Om Hari,Sharma Sita Ram 아세아·태평양축산학회 2023 Animal Bioscience Vol.36 No.5

Objective: The main goals of this investigation were to i) assess the population structure and genetic diversity and ii) determine the efficiency of the ongoing breeding program in a closed flock of Angora rabbits through pedigree analysis. Methods: The pedigree records of 6,145 animals, born between 1996 to 2020 at NTRS, ICAR-CSWRI, Garsa were analyzed using ENDOG version 4.8 software package. The genealogical information, genetic conservation index and parameters based on gene origin probabilities were estimated. Results: Analysis revealed that, 99.09% of the kits had both parents recorded in the whole dataset. The completeness levels for the whole pedigree were 99.12%, 97.12%, 90.66%, 82.49%, and 74.11% for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th generations, respectively, reflecting well-maintained pedigree records. The maximum inbreeding, average inbreeding and relatedness were 36.96%, 8.07%, and 15.82%, respectively. The mean maximum, mean equivalent and mean completed generations were 10.28, 7.91, and 5.51 with 0.85%, 1.19%, and 1.85% increase in inbreeding, respectively. The effective population size estimated from maximum, equivalent and complete generations were 58.50, 27.05, and 42.08, respectively. Only 1.51% of total mating was highly inbred. The effective population size computed via the individual increase in inbreeding was 42.83. The effective numbers of founders (fe), ancestors (fa), founder genomes (fg) and non-founder genomes (fng) were 18, 16, 6.22, and 9.50, respectively. The fe/fa ratio was 1.12, indicating occasional bottlenecks had occurred in the population. The six most influential ancestors explained 50% of genes contributed to the gene pool. The average generation interval was 1.51 years and was longer for the sireoffspring pathway. The population lost 8% genetic diversity over time, however, considerable genetic variability still existed in the closed Angora population. Conclusion: This study provides important and practical insights to manage and maintain the genetic variability within the individual flock and the entire population.
