Purpose: We examined the mediating role of physical self-worth in the relationship between physical activity and quality of life in Korean adolescents. Methods: Data from 236 middle school students were used for the present study (boys = 139, 58.9%; girls = 97, 41.1%; middle school first grade = 127, 53.8%; middle school third grade = 109, 46.2%). Questionnaire data on demographics, physical activity, physical self-worth, subdimnesions of quality of life, and global quality of life were collected. We utilized the Hayes’ (2013) PROCESS Macro to test mediation models. Results: Results revealed that physical activity was associated with physical self-worth, which in turn, was associated with subdimensions of quality of life (e.g., physical, psychological, and emotion and moods quality of life) and global quality of life. Conclusion: More physical activity led to higher perceptions of physical self-worth, thereby contributing to higher perceptions of quality of life. Implications and directions for future research were discussed.

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 스포츠 팀워크 개념 구조를 탐색하고 이를 토대로 스포츠 팀워크 척도(KATS)를 개발하여 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하는 것이다. 방법: 실업팀과 대학 운동부에 소속된 단체 종목 성인선수를 대상으로 개방형 설문조사와 척도를 활용한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 귀납적 내용분석을 활용한 전문가 협의를 통해서 개방형 설문조사 자료를 분석하였고 분석 자료를 바탕으로 개념 구조를 탐색하고 예비문항을 개발하였다. 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통하여 척도의 요인 구조를 파악하였고 개념신뢰도, 크론바흐 알파, 평균분산추출 분석, 차이 검증, 상관분석을 통해서 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 결과: 개방형 설문조사 원자료를 분석한 결과 9개의 범주로 나타났다. 탐색적 요인분석을 통해서 목표설정, 경기분석, 수행준비, 협동, 팀 정체성, 대인관계 요인을 포함한 6개의 요인이 추출되었다. 확인적 요인분석 결과 모형 적합도 기준을 충족하였고 구성타당도와 공인타당도, 신뢰도 검사 결과 적합한 타당도와 신뢰도를 나타냈다. 집단차이 분석에서 실업팀은 대학팀보다 목표설정, 경기분석, 수행준비, 팀 정체성에서 높은 팀워크 수준을 보고하였다. 결론: 본 연구에서 개발된 스포츠 팀워크측정 도구는 스포츠 현장에서 팀워크를 평가하기 위한 실용적인 도구로 활용되기를 기대한다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the Korean version of Assessment of Teamwork(KATS) based on a conceptual model developed in this study and to verify its reliability and validity. Methods: Athletes recruited from varsities and professional sports teams completed semi-structured open-ended questions and questionnaires. Data were analyzed through experts’ meetings utilizing inductive content analysis, which led to establishment of a conceptual model. Preliminary items were developed based on the model. A factor structure was identified through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. In addition, indices of construct reliability, Cronbach’s alpha, average variance extracted, group differences and correlations were examined. Results: Nine factors were emergent from preliminary data. Six factors including goal setting, game analysis, preparation, cooperation, team identity, and interpersonal relationship were extracted from exploratory factor analysis. Results from confirmatory factor analysis showed an adequate model fit. Concurrent validity, convergent validity and reliability were demonstrated. The KATS were correlated with collective efficacy and cohesion; group differences were found in goal setting, game analysis, preparation and team identity at the function of a league level. Conclusion: The KATS is expected to be used as a practical tool to assess teamwork in the field.
