Electrically conductive membrane of polyaniline–titanium(IV)phosphate cation exchange nanocomposite: Applicable for detection of Pb(II) using its ion-selective electrode

Asif Ali Khan,Umair Baig 한국공업화학회 2012 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.18 No.6

PVC supported membranes of polyaniline–titanium(IV)phosphate (PANI–TiP) cation exchange nanocomposite were prepared by solution casting method in different stoichiometric ratios of PVC and PANI–TiP. The structure and morphology of the prepared membrane were ascertained by FTIR, SEM and TGA–DTA. The membrane having a composition 1:1 (PVC:PANI–TiP) shows best results for electrical conductivity, water content, porosity, thickness and swelling. The Pb(II) selective electrode was developed by using this membrane for the determination of lead in solutions. The membrane electrode was mechanically stable, having wide dynamic range, with quick response time and could be operated for at least 5 months.

Electrically conductive polyaniline-titanium(IV)molybdophosphate cation exchange nanocomposite: Synthesis, characterization and alcohol vapour sensing properties

Asif Ali Khan,Umair Baig,Mohd. Khalid 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.4

Electrically conductive polyaniline-titanium(IV)molybdophosphate (PANI-TMP) cation exchange nanocomposite was studied as sensing material for aliphatic alcohols (methanol, ethanol and 1-propanol) at room temperature. The nanocomposite was synthesized by sol–gel mixing of polyaniline (PANI) into inorganic precipitate of titanium(IV)molybdophosphate (TMP) and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and ultravioletvisible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). The composite showed good ion-exchange capacity, electrical conductivity and resistivity response towards alcohol vapours. It was observed that the sensor show good reversible response towards methanol vapours compared to ethanol and 1-propanol vapours. These studies suggest that the nanocomposite cation exchanger could be a good sensing material for methanol vapours at room temperature (25 8C).

Preparation, characterization and kinetics of ion exchange studies of Ni2+ selective polyaniline–Zr(IV)molybdophosphate nanocomposite cation exchanger

Asif Ali Khan,Shakeeba Shaheen 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.26 No.-

Polyaniline–Zr(IV)molybdophosphate (PAZMP) was synthesized by sol–gel mixing of polyaniline (PANI) into the inorganic precipitate Zr(IV)molybdophosphate (ZMP). The physico-chemical properties of the material were characterized by using XRD, TGA, FTIR, SEM and TEM. Distribution studies for various metal ions revealed that the composite is highly selective for Ni2+. Its selectivity was examined by achieving some important binary separations of metal cations which indicatesits utility in environmental pollution control. Ion-exchange kinetics for few divalent metal ions was evaluated by particle diffusion-controlled ion- exchange phenomenon at different temperatures. Some physical parameters like D0, Ea and DS0 have been evaluated under favoring a particle diffusion-controlled mechanism.

      • Attitude Control of Quadcopter Using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Control

Asif Sajjad Khan Anjum,Rana Ali Sufian,Zain Abbas,Ijaz Mansoor Qureshi 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.4

This research contains the simulation and designing of Quadcopter using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Controller to control the altitude of quadcopter and obstacle detection. Now a day’s advancement in technology has made it possible to develop low power and lightweight with accurate sensors which are used with controllers for controlling, which have high processing power but small power consumption. This has been allowed for the development of complex and difficult control systems that can be implemented onboard UAV. With this combination of high precision and light weight, real-time onboard navigation or guidance and autonomous flights are now practical. This research work used a Fuzzy controller to control the pitch angle of quadcopter and avoiding obstacles. The fuzzy controller receives the sensory data and adjust the pitch accordingly until unless it finds the clear path. For detecting obstacles the IR sensors are used. For designing a fuzzy inference system used Sugeno model and used mat lab commands to design ANFIS as we have another method for designing by using a Simulink as well. ANFIS designed is based on kinematics and dynamics equation of quadcopter that will be able to control the pitch of quadcopter. Simulations results in mat lab show that by using ANFIS the performance of Quadcopter will be improved significantly.

POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR A SYSTEM OF SINGULAR SECOND ORDER NONLOCAL BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS

Asif, Naseer Ahmad,Eloe, Paul W.,Khan, Rahmat Ali Korean Mathematical Society 2010 대한수학회지 Vol.47 No.5

        Sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions for a coupled system of nonlinear nonlocal boundary value problems of the type -x"(t) = f(t, y(t)), t $\in$ (0, 1), -y"(t) = g(t, x(t)), t $\in$ (0, 1), x(0) = y(0) = 0, x(1) = ${\alpha}x(\eta)$, y(1) = ${\alpha}y(\eta)$, are obtained. The nonlinearities f, g : (0,1) $\times$ (0, $\infty$ ) $\rightarrow$ (0, $\infty$) are continuous and may be singular at t = 0, t = 1, x = 0, or y = 0. The parameters $\eta$, $\alpha$, satisfy ${\eta}\;{\in}\;$ (0,1), 0 < $\alpha$ < $1/{\eta}$. An example is provided to illustrate the results.

Effect of temporal data aggregation on the perceived structure of a quantitative plant–floral visitor network

        Asif Sajjad,Shafqat SAEED,Mudssar ALI,Fawad Zafar Ahmad KHAN,권용정,Mariano DEVOTO 한국곤충학회 2017 Entomological Research Vol.47 No.6

Seasonal turnover in plant and floral visitor communities changes the structure of the network of interactions they are involved in. Despite the dynamic nature of plant–visitor networks, a usual procedure is to pool year‐round interaction data into a single network which may result in a biased depiction of the real structure of the interaction network. The annual temporal dynamics and the effect of merging monthly data have previously been described for qualitative data (i.e. describing the occurrence of interactions) alone, while its quantitative aspect (i.e. the actual frequency with which interactions occur) remain little explored. For this, we built a set of 12 monthly networks describing year‐round plant–floral visitor interactions in a 30‐hectare planted forest and its adjacent agricultural landscape at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Pakistan. A total of 80 plant and 162 insect species, which engaged in 1573 unique interactions, were recorded. Most network properties (particularly the number of plants, visitors and unique interactions) varied markedly during the year. Data aggregation showed that while animal species, plant species, unique interaction, weighted nestedness, interaction diversity and robustness increased, connectance and specialization decreased. The only metric which seemed relatively unaffected by data pooling was interaction evenness. In general, quantitative metrics were relatively less affected by temporal data aggregation than qualitative ones. Avoiding data aggregation not only gives a more realistic depiction of the dynamic nature of plant–visitor community networks, but also avoids biasing network metrics and, consequently, their expected response to disturbances such as the loss of species.

      • SVN-Ostrowski Type Inequalities for (α, β, γ, δ) -Convex Functions

Maria Khan,Asif Raza Khan,Ali Hassan International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2024 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.24 No.1

In this paper, we present the very first time the generalized notion of (α, β, γ, δ) - convex (concave) function in mixed kind, which is the generalization of (α, β) - convex (concave) functions in 1st and 2nd kind, (s, r) - convex (concave) functions in mixed kind, s - convex (concave) functions in 1st and 2nd kind, p - convex (concave) functions, quasi convex(concave) functions and the class of convex (concave) functions. We would like to state the well-known Ostrowski inequality via SVN-Riemann Integrals for (α, β, γ, δ) - convex (concave) function in mixed kind. Moreover we establish some SVN-Ostrowski type inequalities for the class of functions whose derivatives in absolute values at certain powers are (α, β, γ, δ)-convex (concave) functions in mixed kind by using different techniques including Hölder's inequality and power mean inequality. Also, various established results would be captured as special cases with respect to convexity of function.

RPSMDSM: Residential Power Scheduling and Modelling for Demand Side Management

( Sheeraz Ahmed ),( Ali Raza ),( Shahryar Shafique ),( Mukhtar Ahmad ),( M. Yousaf Ali Khan ),( Asif Nawaz ),( Rohi Tariq ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.6

In third world countries like Pakistan, the production of electricity has been quickly reduced in past years due to rely on the fossil fuel. According to a survey conducted in 2017, the overall electrical energy capacity was 22,797MW, since the electrical grids have gone too old, therefore the efficiency of grids, goes down to nearly 17000MW. Significant addition of fossil fuel, hydro and nuclear is 64.2%, 29% and 5.8% respectively in the total electricity production in Pakistan. In 2018, the demand crossed 20,223MW, compared to peak generation of 15,400 to 15,700MW as by the Ministry of Water and Power. Country faces a deficit of almost 4000MW to 5000MW for the duration of 2019 hot summer term. Focus on one aspect considering Demand Side Management (DSM) cannot oversea the reduction of gap between power demand and customer supply, which eventually leads to the issue of load shedding. Hence, a scheduling scheme is proposed in this paper called RPSMDSM that is based on selection of those appliances that need to be only Turned-On, on priority during peak hours consuming minimum energy. The Home Energy Management (HEM) system is integrated between consumer and utility and bidirectional flow is presented in the scheme. During peak hours of electricity, the RPSMDSM is capable to persuade less power consumption and accomplish productivity in load management. Simulations show that RPSMDSM scheme helps in scheduling the electricity loads from peak price to off-peak price hours. As a result, minimization in electricity cost as well as (Peak-to-Average Ratio) PAR are accomplished with sensible waiting time.
