Designing visualized-query based travel planning system
Sashka Chinzorig,Yoshiyori Urano 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
In this paper we purposed travel planning system with simplified user interface which help to improve more interaction of user and system. System obtains users' preferences during interaction of user, and designed how to elicit their preferences by visualized way.
Proposal on Developing Effective English Learning Materials for Mobile Phone Users of Mongolia
Gantuul Tolya,Yoshiyori URANO 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
Mobile Learning offers new possibilities in education. In Mongolia it was reported that there were 45 mobile phones per 100 people in 2008. In this study we wanted to propose mobile learning system for Mongolians. This work briefly reviews pertinent research on learning and memorization. Specifically, it has been demonstrated that spaced repetition and targeted mnemonic strategies greatly facilitate the learning process and foster long-term recall. The software features a timed learning environment based on the SuperMemo algorithm and incorporates mnemonic elements to enhance the learning experience.
Online Khmer Handwriting Recognition Character-Based Input Method
Huotey YIN,Yoshiyori URANO 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
Recently, handwriting devices such as PDAs, smart phones, or tablet PCs become popular for daily use. Japanese, English and other languages can be used with these kinds of device; yet Cambodian language. This paper is extended from our previous work which enables to construct words based on online handwriting recognition. The prototype combines consonants and vowels written into two difference panels. The experiment is conducted with five Cambodian people to write a short message for ten times. We evaluate the result by measuring the writing speed of each user in Character Per Minute (CPM), which the average of five users is 28.12.
Agent based handover scheme for SIP communication - The case of TCP sessions
Vu Truong Thanh,Yoshiyori Urano 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
In [1] we proposed the Low Loss Mobility Agent (LLMA) architecture to maintain UDP-based communication sessions for SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) services when the mobile node handover from one Wireless Access Point to another. In this paper we describe the LLMA solution to maintain and reduce loss to TCP-based connections when the Mobile Node performs a handover
Reducing noise for SPM based 2R-Optical Regenerations utilizing filters
Le Sy Dat,Urano Yoshiyori 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
2R-Regenerations using Self-Phase Modulation (SPM) are well-known to handle the all-optical communication systems. Considering how to improve the quality for 2R-regeneration, two filters were put in the system, before and after the high nonlinear material. We used the material with high nonlinear parameters to investigate the roles of two filters and do simulations. With the numerical simulation, we point out that choosing the suitable band-pass and off-center frequencies for those filters can reduce noise effectively.
Page Fault Handling Using Cooperative Cache in High Speed Network Connected Clusters
Yujin Tang,Hidenori Nakazato,Yoshiyori Urano 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
Cluster computing is usually for processing a huge amount of data or multiple jobs in parallel, in which page fault rate is high. Due to the amazing development of networking technology, most cluster computing has adopted high speed networking as its internal connection. Aiming at improving the performance of cluster computing, we take advantage of the high speed networking and present a caching strategy which utilizes memory of other nodes to deal with page faults. The size of memory allocated as page cache is dynamically adjusted according to the memory utilization. Our work is the first to apply cooperative caching scheme on page fault handling, and though the performance of our strategy may vary due to the dynamic nature of cluster work load, we prove it no worse than traditional page fault handling method in worst case.
