The radiation patterns of sound from a baffled, oscillating piston with three types of boundary conditions at the edge of the piston, and with various free stream velocities are studied via numerical methods. Linearized Euler's equations in Cartesian coordinates are solved by the Dispersion Relation Preserving finite difference scheme. The numerical results are compared to the analytic results derived from Kirchhoff-Helmholz's integral theorem. Through the comparison of each boundary condition, the effects of discontinuous boundary conditions on the directivity of sound are discussed. The validity of numerical simulation for discontinuity effects is affirmed by comparison of numerical and analytic results.
