Score Level Fusion in DWT Domain On-Line Signature Verification

In multi-matcher verification system, scores from matchers are fused at a decision level. However, each matcher has generally a different optimum threshold from other ones and then it causes deterioration of total verification rate. In this paper, we take the multi-matcher DWT on-line signature verification system for example and introduce threshold equalization methods based on the complexity of a signature. Their effectiveness is confirmed in computer simulations.

We investigated the Bayesian inferences using the maximize a posteriori (MAP) estimation for the problem of phase unwrapping in remote sensing using the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry. Then, in order to clarify performance of the Bayesian inference estimate, we carried out Monte Carlo simulation for a set of wave-fronts generated by an assumed true prior. Then, we clarified that optimal performance was achieved under the Bayes-optimal condition within statistical uncertainty. Then, we clarified that the present method was effective even for an artificial wave-front in remote sensing due to SAR interferometry. Also, we found that the Bayesian inference via the conjugate gradient method to derive the MAP solution for this problem. Using the numerical simulation for the wave-front, we found that the MAP estimation using the conjugate gradient method was effective for phase unwrapping as well as the MPM estimate approximately.
Experimental Confirmation of Propulsion and Levitation Control for Linear Induction Motor

Linear motors and Electro Magnetic Suspension (EMS) are used in the maglev system. Linear Induction motors (LIMs) have simple structure, flexible mechanism, and direct drive. HSST (High Speed Surface Transport) system is one of the magnetic levitation systems using LIM. In this system, the traction is controlled by LIM, and the levitation is controlled by EMS respectively. However, this systems have problems, for example the attractive force generated from LIM disturbs the levitation control of the EMS. We have proposed a new magnetic levitation system without EMS. In this system, the attractive force generated from LIM is used as the levitation force. We have also proposed a new control method of the thrust force and attractive force independently and simultaneously. It uses two frequency components. In this paper, we verify the control performance of propulsion and levitation by the experiments.
