        터널 막장보강효과에 대한 연구

        The practice of introducing and grouting reinforced fiber glass pipes or bar into the core to be excavated to maintain stable the tunnel face during excavation has been applied to many tunnels, where difficult geotechnical conditions are present, with good results in terms of safety and speed of works. This reinforcing technique, initially developed to be used jointly with the mechanical precut in clay, has been widely used with other geotechnical conditions as the only type of reinforcement or joined with other ground consolidation and/or reinforcement techniques (i.e. steel pipes or jet-grouting umbrella). At present same numerical researches have been carried out to find which are the real working conditions of the reinforcing elements but no final results have been obtained for the definition of the best design approaches. In this work the results of a three dimensional parametric numerical model is presented.

        Soil Conditioning for EPB Shield Tunnelling

        The use of conditioning agents that change the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of a cohesionless soil into an impervious andplastic paste is the key point for the correct management of EPB (Earth Pressure Balance) shield tunneling. The design of soilconditioning sets and the choice of the best products to be used require special laboratory tests. These tests should be carried outalready at the design stage to allow to check if the needed results can be achieved in the soil to be excavated. In the paper an overviewof the different type of laboratory tests that can be used on cohesionless soils are presented and the most important results that can beobtained are discussed.

        Performances and Biocompatibility of Prepared pH-Sensitive Cotton/Polyamide 6 Medical Dressings Dyed with Halochromic Dyes

        A natural pH-sensitive dye, curcumin, and a synthetic pH-sensitive dye, Bromothymol blue, were successfullyapplied on cotton/polyamide 6 medical dressings. The work addresses two different topics: on the one hand the dyeingprocess of the medical devices; on the other hand, the evaluation of the dyed medical dressing biocompatibility. Differentdye concentrations were tested to find the best dye exhaustion and dye fastness to washing and perspiration. The halochromictest evidenced a pH sensitivity in a range of pH from 5.5 to 8.0 and 8.5. These properties confirmed their possible usage aspotential pH textile sensors in the control of skin diseases. The last sections examine the biocompatibility of the preparedmedical devices with human skin. MTT assay on in vitro cultures of human epithelial cells (HaCaT keratinocytes) wasperformed to test the cytotoxicity. In vitro permeation studies with Franz cells were performed as well to evaluate the dyepotential accumulation in the skin layers. No cytotoxicity was detected as well as no dye permeation through the skin layers.

        Rock fall tunnel portals

        Tunnel portals are often located in areas where the risk of rock fall and/or detachement of rock fragments from rocky slopes is high. In this case it is necessary to design the portals so as to protect the road (i.e. using an artificial tunnel) or to instal structures that are able to intercept falling blocks on the slope. This paper deals with the design problems of these structures and includes a special analysis of net fences which have undergone a remarkable technological improvement over recent years.
