        Predicting the Outcome of a T20 Cricket Game Based on the Players’ Abilities to Perform Under Pressure

        With the advent of the Twenty20 format in cricket, the game has become more competitive. The number of nail-biting finishes that go to the last over has also increased as a result. As the game goes to the last over, the match result is mostly dependent on the effectiveness of batsmen at the crease and the player who is bowling the last over. This gave rise to an interesting idea for predicting the game result before the start of the final over based on the capabilities of the batsmen and the bowler. We used data from the first eight Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons as the training data, and from the last two IPL seasons as the test data. We trained and tested our model using Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbors algorithms, and obtained the best accuracy using the SVM (89.36%).

        Development of vildagliptin loaded Eudragit® microspheres by screening design: in vitro evaluation

        The aim of this study was to develop and characterize sustained release vildagliptin (VLG) loaded Eudragit ® RS-100 microspheres. The microspheres were prepared by single emulsion [oil-in-oil (O/O)] solvent evaporation method. Plackett–Burman design (PBD) was employed by using Design-Expert® Software to screen and understand impact of five independent formulation factors such as Eudragit ® RS-100 (A), span-80 (B), acetone (C), methanol (D), stirring speed (E) affecting on encapsulation efficiency (EE) and dissolution rate (DR). The developed microspheres were evaluated by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM); particle size analyzer (PSA); Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR); X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and in-vitro drug release as well as microspheres were assessed for accelerated stability. The microspheres obtained were spherical in shape with non-porous surface and the mean particle size was 1.077 μm. FTIR and XRD study confirmed drug-polymer compatibility. EE obtained from all microspheres formulations was found in the range of 61.83–84.77%. 2D contour and 3D surface plots showed potential effects of independent factors on EE and DR. Sustained drug release profile (up to 12 h) was attained by Eudragit ® RS100 polymer. Accelerated stability results for attributes like physical appearance and drug content did not showed any significant change over the period. Eudragit ® RS-100 polymer could be used as favourable sustained release carrier in developing VLG loaded microspheres for the treatment of hyperglycemia to increase its duration of action.

        Antibacterial Properties of Silver Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles Synthesized via Sol-Gel Technique

        In this work, antibacterial, micro-structural, and fluorescence properties of silver (Ag) doped TiO2 nanoparticles were studied to analyze the effect of silver for effective improvement in antibacterial properties of TiO2. Antibacterial properties of pure TiO2 and Ag-TiO2 was studied using Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa as Gram Negative and Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus as Gram positive bacteria, as a model for Agar disc diffusion assay method. The concept of inhibition zone diameter was applied to observe the antibacterial activity of TiO2 and Ag-TiO2. It was observed that the antibacterial activity of TiO2 improves with doping of Ag. Fluorescence spectra confirm the red shift in band edge emission at excitation wavelength of 360 nm which shows effective fluorescence properties of these nanoparticles. Microstructures of these nanoparticles have studied with the help of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).

        Efficient Photodegradation of Organic Dye Using Anatase TiO2 Plants as Catalyst

        Anatase TiO2 hierarchical nanostructures with higher photocatalyticactivity are of special importance in various applications. We havereported the synthesis of TiO2 as water chestnut plants likemorphology via facile hydrothermal method, by using Titanium (IV)butoxide (TBOT) as a precursor solution. It is found that TiO2nanoparticles work as seed and completely convert into waterchestnut plants like structure or morphology, which are composed ofcrystallized anatase nanocrystals. X-ray diffraction spectra confirmedthe presence of anatase phase of crystallized TiO2 plants (TPs). Theaverage life time delay for generated charge carriers in TPs wascalculated to be around 2.45 ns, which reflects slow recombination ofcharge carriers. The prepared TPs show excellent photocatalyticperformance when applied in photo degradation of Rhodamine Borganic dye. The unique features exhibited by TPs make them apromising candidate for vast potential applications in field such assolar cells, photocatalysis, supercapacitor, lithium ion batteries andsome related fields.

        Awareness regarding Safe Abortion among Adolescent Girls in Rural area of Mahottari district of Nepal

        목적 : 이 연구는 네팔의 마호타리 지방에 거주하고 있는 사춘기 소녀들의 낙태에 대한 인식 수준을 평가하기 위해 수행하였다. 방법 : 이 연구는 지역사회 기반 단면연구로서 2019년 1월부터 3월까지 네팔의 마호타리 지역의 농촌 마을 사춘기 소녀 412명 대상으로 실시하였다. 대상자는 10세에서 19세까지의 사춘기 소녀로서 다단계집락추출 방법으로 선정하였고, 사춘기 소녀의 낙태에 대한 인식 수준에 미치는 요인을 알기위해다변량로지스틱회귀을 시행하였다. 결과 : 조사 결과 사춘기 소녀의 45.6%가 안전한 낙태에 대해 높은 인식도를 가지고 있었다. 결혼한 청소년의 인식도는 미혼의 청소년보다 높았고(OR = 2.16, 95 % CI : 1.01-4.87), 중등교육 이상을 받은 청소년의 인식도가 높았다(OR = 2.21, 95 % CI : 1.13-3.04). 또한 월 소득이 10,000 ~ 20,000 루피(NRs)와 그 이상이 되는 경우 10,000 루피에 비해 각각 2.33 배(OR=2.33, 95 % CI : 1.07-3.55), 3.17 배(OR=3.17, 95 % CI : 2.19-8.94)더 높았다. 결론 : 이 연구를 통해 낙태에 대한 전반적인 지식 수준은 낮았다. 결혼상태, 교육수준, 가족수입과 같은 사회 경제적 요인이 낙태에 대한 인식수준과 관련이 있어, 이를 통해 원치 않는 임신, 낙태 및 그로 인한 합병증을 줄이기 위해 낙태에 대한 인식 수준을 높일 수 있도록 노력하여야 한다. This study aimed to assess the level of awareness on safe abortion among adolescent girls in rural area of Mahottari district of Nepal. A community based cross-sectional study was conducted in rural areas of Mahottari district of Southern Nepal between January and March 2019.A sample of 412 adolescent girls was selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. Multivariable logistic regression model was adapted to explore level of awareness among adolescent girls. This study found that 45.6% of adolescent girls had high awareness regarding safe abortion. The odds of awareness among the married adolescents was higher (AOR=2.16; 95% CI: 1.01-4.87) than unmarried adolescent whereas the odds of awareness among the adolescents who had education of secondary level and more had higher (AOR=2.21; 95%CI: 1.13-3.04) than those who had primary or lower secondary level of education. Similarly, the adolescents who had monthly family income of Nepalese Rupees (NRs.), 10,000-20,000 and more than NRs. 20,000 were respectively, 2.33 times (AOR = 2.33; 95% CI: 1.07–3.55) and 3.17 times (AOR = 3.17; 95% CI: 2.19–8.94) more likelihood to have high awareness regarding safe abortion than those their counterparts. The study showed that overall level of knowledge towards safe abortion was found low. Socio-demographic factors like marital status, level of education, and family income were the factors independently associated with level of awareness on safe abortion. Therefore, efforts should be exerted towards arising and improving the awareness of abortion care which may reduce unwanted pregnancy, abortion and other complications related to abortion.

        Economics of Converging Theoretical Paradigms : Evidence from Indo-Korean Bilateral Economic Cooperation

        This paper examines economic consequences of converging theoretical paradigms affecting regimes of economic cooperation (RECs). In the past, theoretical paradigms such as capitalism vs. socialism or Keynesianism vs. monetarism clearly diverged on structural, organizational and operational levels, however in the recent times there are ample evidences showing greater theoretical convergence. Literature available on the issue primarily focuses on multilateral/bilateral free trade agreements and largely ignores the deeper theoretical realignments causing fundamental shift in the structure and reach of RECs. It argues that converging theoretical paradigms (CTPs) are affecting basic rationale and structure of cooperative arrangements. Theoretically, the second coming of liberal international economic order (LIEO) indicates that the CTPs have evolved around neo-liberal economic ideas. Empirically, a critical turn around in Indo-Korean RECs in the post-Cold War period-from market-seeking (1960s~1980s) to production-seeking (1990s~2000s), and cluster-seeking phase (2000~2007) - demonstrates the positive impact of CTPs.
