병원에 관련되어 있는 환자를 포함한 모든 관계인원들에게 일어나는 건강상태 및 질환의 계속적인 변화현상을 그 인자, 빈도 및 분포상태 등으로 분석하며 연구하는 자를 hospital epidemiologist라 한다. 이와 같이 Hospital epidemiologist는 병원내에서 일어나는 건강상태 변화의 일거일동을 총괄통계화하고 nosocomial infection의 감소에 계속 치중하여야 하며 감염폭팔 수습목적으로 외부의 도움이 필요할 때는 병원 대변인 역할을 해야 한다.

As we enter the new millennium, there have been dramatic improvements in the care of patients with HIV infection. These have prolonged life and decreased morbidity and mortality. There are fourteen currently available antiretrovirals approved in the United States for the treatment of this infection. The medications, including their pharmacokinetic properties, side effects, and dosing are reviewed. In addition, the current approach to the use of these medicines is discussed.
Helicobader pylori Infection: Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, and Therapy

Helicobacter pylori is one of the most commonly encountered human pathogens. It has been shown to be closely associated with peptic ulcer disease (PUD), gastric adenocarcinoma, and the gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) that may lead to gastric lymphoma. The current diagnostic methods include histology, microbiological culture, classic serology unease activity detection, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and stool antigen detection. Its treatment modality options are multiple; however, a triple regimen consisting of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and two antibiotics for 10 to 14 days is preferred. Drug resistance is a growing problem in this organism and new therapeutic options are currently limited .
Antiretroviral Therapy 2010 Update: Current Practices and Controversies

Over the past four years, significant advances have been made in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) therapy. In addition to the release of two new classes of antiretrovirals, our understanding of the older antiretrovirals continues to improve. Multiple combination pills have been brought to market, simplifying the regimens for patient ease. New controversies have arisen, notably the role of antiretrovirals in the chronic inflammatory state that HIV infection produces, which may lead to excess cardiac, renal, and hepatic mortality. The optimum time to initiate antiretroviral therapy remains unknown but clinicians are treating HIV infection earlier in its course. In this article, we review these and other new issues relating to the care of the HIV patient.
AIDS Related Opportunistic Infections, Going but not Gone

It is now more than two decades since the AIDS epidemic began with a cluster of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) in a community of homosexual men. Since then, many other infections have been characterized as opportunistic infections secondary to HIV infection. These include, but are not limited to, infections with Toxoplasma gondii, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), and Cryptococcus neoformans. Over the last two decades, there have been dramatic improvements in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of all these infections. As a result, in North America and Western Furope the rates of opportunistic infections secondary to AIDS have decreased substantially. We will review these common opportunistic infections below.
협업기반의 과학 어플리케이션을 위한 워크플로우 재구성 기법

협업 컴퓨팅 환경은 컴퓨팅, 네트워크 자원을 통하여 연구자들간의 협력을 하는 일련의 작업 과정을 의미한다. 사람이 포함되어 있는 복잡한 연구환경에서 워크플로우 기반의 작업 수행은 협업환경을 위해 유용하게 사용된다. 하지만 자원의 예기치 못한 자원의 성능 저하는 전체 워크플로우의 성능을 저하시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 자원 스케줄링에 있어서 최초에 결정되어 할당된 자원을 재배치 시키는 재구성 기법을 통하여 워크플로우 응용의 성능 저하를 개선하고자 한다.
