an acute, unilateral, self-limited inflammatory disease of cerebral ganglia and the ganglia of posterior nerve roots and peripheral nerves in a segmented distribution, caused by the chickenpox virus, and characterized by groups of small vesicles in the cutaneous areas along the course of affected nerves, and associated with neuralgic pain. three case of herpes zoster has severe post herpetic neuralgia. these patients has been treated with westernmedicine. But they could not expect to improve condition. We exprienced three cases of herpes zoster that have a result of effect with oriental treatment and lazer threaphy.

Urticaria is an erythematous or white non-pitting edematous plague that changes in size and shape by peripheral extention or regression during the few hours or days. Urticaria is classified as acute or chronic type. The etiology of acute urticaria has been determined in many case, but the cause of chronic urticaria has been determined in only $5\%\;to\;20\%$ of cases. This observation was aimed to evaluate the clinical manifestations and clinical indence of urticaria seen between June, 1995 and November, 1996(18months) at the Department of Dermatology, Oriental Medical Hospital, Kyung Hee University. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. In the cases of 106 patients, $43\%\;were\;male\;and\;51\%$ were female. 2. The pick incidence of age group was 20 to 29($32\%$). 3. The most frequent duration of urticaria was from 2 months to 6 months. 4. In this study, the inciting causes could not be found in $61\%\;of\;acute\;patients,\;60\%$ of chronic patients. 5. Among 107 patients, $5\%$ of all patients had personal history of atopic diseases and $9\%$ of all patients had familly history. 6. Angioedema was founded in 7 patients, and the most common involved site were lips, eyelids and tongue. 7. The most frequently treated prescription was Chhunggisan which occupied $51\%$ of all, Gyakhangjunggisan(41\%$) and Gosamhomasan($25\%$), Bangpoongtongsungsan($22\%$) in that order of frequency.

Erythema nodosum is a nodular erythematous eruption usually limited to the low extremities. Erythema nodosum seems to be Gwadungjun(瓜藤纏) and Damp-heat flow(濕毒流注) in oriental medicine. The symptom of erythema nodosum is similar to that of Gwadungjun, so we investigated the literatures of oriental medicine and recet medicine. The results were summarized as follows; 1. In Oriental medicine, erythema nodosum regarded as Damp-heat flow and Gwadungjun. 2. Inflammatory nodus of lower extremity, ie, similar to Gwadungjun, Damp-heat flow, Bichonbal(비천發), Samnibal(三里發), Ududok(魚두毒), etc. 3. Erythema nodosum results from inner damp-heat(內有濕熱), affection due to pathogenic wind(外感風邪). 4. Treatment is to clear away heat(淸熱), remove dampness(利濕), heat from blood(凉血), cold-damp(祛寒), and promote blood flood(活血通絡). 5. We can use Bangpungtongsungsan(防風通聖散), Sopunghwa1hyultang(疏風活血湯), and Danguijumtongtang(當歸拈通湯), etc.

This study evaluates the effect of G.G.(桂枝湯 加味方) in patients with allergic rhinitis which deteriorates with cold, who visited Oriental hospital of Kyungwon University from march to september in 1996 and found the symptoms were inproved significantly. 1. G.G.(桂枝湯 加味方) was prescribed for the patients with sneezing and more than $80\%$ of patients showed improvement 2. Oriental treatments of allergic rhinitis have been showed relative good results and more constructive study and clinical report are necessary.

The glaucoma, cataract and causing-blindness-diseases have high clinical importance by their severity of the symptoms and possibility of causing visual loss. Glaucoma is caused by an increase in the intraocular pressure, if severe enough, can cause field loss and eventually complete blindness. In cataract, the general clarity of vision is impaired due to a loss of transparency of the chrystalline lens of the eye. The causing-blindness-diseases can be divided to PokMaeng which cause sudden blindness and ChungMaeng, in which visual acuity is losed gradually. In glaucoma, cataract and causing-blindness-diseases, the visual acuity is affected and the patient may complain blurriness, fatigue of eye, visual field loss deficiency or scintillant feeling, vitreous floaters. In this study, 32 patients who have cataract, glaucoma or other causing-blindness-diseases was treated with oriental medicine or acupuncture from July, l996 to May. 1997, and was followed up by their symptoms and visual acuity. 1. In glaucoma patients, intraocular pressure decreased significantry and the symptoms improved positively. 2. In cataract patients, there was no improvement of visual acuity but $40\%$ of patients found their symptoms improved. 3. In causing-blindness-diseases, $57\%$ of patients reported improvement of their symptoms such as blurriness or fatigue of eye. 4. Through oriental medical treatment, the symptoms of glaucoma, cataract and causing-blindness-diseases can be treated effectively. Therefore oriental management seems to be possible to cure glaucoma, cataract and causing-blindness-diseases.
