      • Overview of the ongoing researches on the invasion of Vespa velutina var. nigrothorax (hym.: vespidae), the asian hornet, in europe.

        F. J. Muller,Q. Rome,M. Arca,G. Arnold,M. Barbet-Massin,F. Jiguet,F. Mougel,A. Perrard,J-F. Silvain,C. Villemant 한국응용곤충학회 2013 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2013 No.10

The highabundance and impact on honeybees of the Asian hornet Vespa velutina var. nigrithorax have caused great concern among European public authorities and beekeepers. The species was reported for the first time in France in 2005 and spread out across 66 European districts (ca. 360 000 km 2 ) within 7 years (INPN, 2012; Rome et al., 2013). Its arrival was reported in 2010 in Northern Spain, in 2011 in Portugal and Belgium and in 2013 in Italy. Its wider expansion in Europe is soon to be expected. We discuss here the advances of the collaborative research project initiated in 2008 in France. 1. The potential invasion risk of the species was assessed using modeling tools of climatic suitability (Villemant et al., 2011, Barbet-Massin et al., 2013). Interestingly, the potential distribution of V. v. nigrithorax matches the current distribution of another invasive social wasp, the German yellow jacket, Vespula germanica (Beggs et al., 2011). 2. Apartfrom reported damages on hives, little is known on the biology of V. velutina throughout its native Asian range. In the invaded range, the impact of V. v. nigrithorax on the diversity and biomass of the invertebrate fauna is under study. Preliminary results reported a diversified diet varying among seasons and habitat types. 3. The genetic variability between individuals of V. v. nigrithorax from France and Asia was assessed in order to describe the history of its invasion. The analysis has evidenced a low variability among the invasive population, which indicates a single introduction of one or more queens. The sampling of specimens in France and in the area of origin has been extended to confirm this hypothesis and the most probable area of origin (Arca, 2012). Given the potential economic and biological impact of V. v. nigrithorax, a better understanding of its invasion dynamics is necessary to predict regions at risk, hence to help with planning dedicated control measures, a prerequisite for replacing the reactive nature of current solutions with a proactive, predictive approach.

      • I DON'T ENVY YOU: EXPLORING THE EFFECTS OF HUMAN VS. VIRTUAL SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS ON CONSUMER WELL-BEING

        Hsin-Hsuan Meg Lee,Lorena Blasco-Arcas 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07

Influencers have become a critical component of marketing strategy to increase awareness, encourage consideration, and drive purchases. A new type of influencer, computer-generated and artificial intelligence-powered avatars, has emerged amid this boom. Despite the mixed marketing results virtual influencers deliver, they are generally thought to create similar engagement as human influencers. Consumers appear capable of developing complex psychological processes when engaging with virtual influencers. Even though the positive impact of influencers is evident, there is a growing concern about how they can affect consumers' well-being. The feeling of envy is a significant well-being concern in the social media world. Assuming virtual influencers can deliver similar emotional effects as human influencers, can we feel envy towards virtual influencers?

      • Slide Session : OS-IFD-02 ; Infectious Disease : Carbapenem Resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in Urine Cultures: Prevalence and Risk Factors

( Judith Alvarez Otero ),( Lucia Gonzalez Gonzalez ),( Jose Luis Lamas Ferreiro ),( Alexandra Arca Blanco ),( Jose Ramon Bermudez Sanjurjo ),( Maria Rodriguez Conde ),( Javier De La Fuente Aguado ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of carbapenem resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) in urine cultures in our hospital. Moreover, we determined the mortality and risk factors associated to CRPA infection. Methods: Positive urine cultures to Pseudomonas aeruginosa between september 2012 and september 2013 were identified. We excluded repititive cultures from the same patient and episode. We created a database with demographic, clinical and laboratory items, including previous antibiotic therapy and antimicrobial resistance. Results: Forty-three cases with positive urine cultures to Pseudomonas aeruginosa were included. CRPA was observed in 12cases, with a prevalence of 27.9%. Sixty per cent were male with a median age of 73 years (range: 17-102). Sixty-seven per cent of patients were hospitalized when the culture was collected, but only 30% met criteria to nosocomial infection. Twenty-one percent of urine cultures corresponded to asymptomatic bacteriuria and 25% presented with sepsis. Mortality at 30 days was 20.7% in CRPA patients and 13.8% in the other group, without estatistical significance. Obesity (p =0.003), previous treatment with ciprofloxacin (p = 0.004) and quinolones in general (p = 0.001) and previous treatment with more than one antibiotic (p = 0.03) or with more than one family of antibiotics (p = 0.01) were risk factors to CRPA infection in the univariate analysis. Only obesity (p = 0.04) and previous treatment with ciprofloxacin (p = 0.02) showed statistically significant differences in the multivariate analysis, Conclusions: There is a high prevalence of CRPA in urine cultures in our population, wich is a potencial threat. We should assess the presence of risk factors for development of infections by such pathogen, as previous treatment with quinolones or obesity, in order to start appropiate empirical treatment in patients with severe urinary tract infections.

Internalized Stigma in Pediatric Psoriasis: A Comparative Multicenter Study

( Erkan Alpsoy Mualla Polat ),( Ibrahim Halil Yavuz ),( Pelin Kartal ),( Didem Didar Balci ),( Ayse Serap Karadag ),( Asli Bilgic Ercan Arca ),( Bilge Fettahlioglu Karaman ),( Selma Emre ),( Esra Adis 대한피부과학회 2020 Annals of Dermatology Vol.32 No.3

Background: Internalized stigma, adoption of negative attitudes and stereotypes of the society regarding persons’ illness, has not been studied previously in pediatric psoriasis patients. Objective: We aimed to investigate the internalized stigma in pediatric psoriasis patients and to determine differences according to factors affecting internalized stigma compared to adult psoriasis patients. Methods: This multicenter, cross-sectional, comparative study included 125 pediatric (55 female, 70 male; mean age±standard deviation [SD], 14.59±2.87 years) and 1,235 adult psoriasis patients (577 female, 658 male; mean age±SD, 43.3±13.7 years). Psoriasis Internalized Stigma Scale (PISS), Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), Perceived Health Status (PHS), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ)-12 were the scales used in the study. Results: The mean PISS was 58.48±14.9 in pediatric group. When PISS subscales of groups were compared, the pediatric group had significantly higher stigma resistance (p=0.01) whereas adult group had higher scores of alienation (p=0.01) and stereotype endorsement (p=0.04). There was a strong correlation between mean values of PISS and DLQI (r=0.423, p=0.001). High internalized stigma scores had no relation to either the severity or localization of disease in pediatric group. However, poor PHS (p=0.007) and low-income levels (p=0.03) in both groups, and body mass index (r=0.181, p=0.04) in the pediatric group were related to high PISS scores. Conclusion: Internalized stigma in pediatric patients is as high as adults and is related to poor quality of life, general health, and psychological illnesses. Unlike adults, internalized stigma was mainly determined by psoriasis per se, rather than disease severity or involvement of visible body parts, genitalia or folds.
