A Steer-by-Wire system has so many advantages comparing with conventional mechanical steering system that it is expected to take key role in future environment friendly vehicle and intelligent transportation system. The mechanical connection between the hand wheel and the front axle will become obsolete. SBW system provides many benefits in terms of functionality, and at the same time present significant challenges-fault tolerant, fail safety-too. In this paper, the proposed fault tolerant mechanism of SBW system will be reviewed, and new idea that is the brake-actuated steering system will be proposed. And the feasibility of the BAS system as the fault tolerant mechanism for SBW system will be evaluated by simulation of brake pressure control.
선형홀센서 적용 모터를 이용한 자동차 조향장치 구동시스템 및 점검장비 개발

본 논문에서는 전동식 조향장치용 모터의 속도와 위치를 측정하기 위해 탑재되는 레졸버를 대신하여 소형 경량화를 가능케 하고 궁극적으로는 연비 향상을 실현할 수 있는 선형 홀센서를 적용한 전동식 조향장치용 모터 개발에 대해 기술한다. 전동식 조향장치의 요구사항을 반영하여 서형 홀센서를 적용한 모터를 설계하고 시제품을 제작하여 요구사항에 대한 동작 성능을 확인, 검증한다. 또한 차량의 운전 상황에 준한 평가를 수행하기 위한 전자제어장치 및 시험장치를 개발, 활용하여 전동식 조향장치의 동작 성능을 확인한다.
Data Fusion을 응용한 SBW 시스템의 Fault tolerant 방안 연구

In this paper, failure analysis of SBW system will be performed and than data fusion technique will be proposed for fail safety of SBW system. A data fusion logic of steering angle sensor by using steering angle sensor, torque sensor and rack position sensor will be developed and simulated by fault injection simulation.

In this paper, a system algorithm to warn vehicle rollover and implement auto-braking system by using GPS(Global Positioning System) is proposed. This system can give a driver warning the presence of sharp curve and vehicle rollover possibility by using GPS data and digital geographic road information data in advance. Additionally this system can communicate with ESP(Electronic Stability Program) to reduce the speed of a vehicle automatically in case of need. ADAMS vehicle simulation is used to verify the critical speed and safe speed of the curves to be expressed by both curvature and road friction. The rollover warning and auto-braking system can give drivers safe driving circumstance and be effective for the prevention of vehicle rollover accidents.
