Objectives : In this article, the application of the theory of Sameumsamyang Gaehapchu to clinical treatment in some important medical books of traditional medicine, for example Jienuelunshu(해학論疏) etc, is investigated. Methods : The literatures containing the application were searched in the Sikuquanshu(四庫全書) database by key words of Sameumsamyang and Gaehapchu, and then analysis and investigation of significant documents has followed. Results : The application of the theory of Sameumsamyang Gaehapchu to clinical treatment has been mainly done with some characteristics that are expansion to the theory of visceral organs, suggestion of various medicines, and definite explanation of the relationship between Gaehapchu. These characteristics made it easy to predict prognosis of diseases and to determine order of treatment. Conclusions : After the age of Huangdineijing, the theory of Sameumsamyang Gaehapchu to clinical treatment has been developed and realized through application of the theory to clinical treatment.

Sasang constitutional medicine was born on basis of constitutional cognition in Korean History. Only if we look at Sasang constitutional medicine on the environment of korean unique culture, geography and historical tradition, the true feature come into view, and on the contrary we could grasp to which degree it has general properties. Sasang constitutional medicine pursue inner principles of human being, that has been the most important traditions of Korean medicine. Also that properties are results of continuous confirming academic universality and constant efforts to look for the medicine that is most fit to clinical practice. For the purpose of developing world medicine, we must grow that specific characteristics of Sasang constitutional medicine.

Objectives : In this study, the changes of concept of Bianzheng(辨證)[syndrome differentiation] in the traditional medical history are investigated for the purpose of understanding conditions of Korean Medicine in modern times. Methods : The concepts of Zheng(證)[syndrome] and Bianzheng[syndrome differentiation] in Sanghanron(傷寒論) and many important medical literatures were selected and analyzed to overview the historical changes of those. Results : To the modern ages, the concept of Zheng had included the two kinds of concepts, that is, symptom/sing and syndrome with slight changes of meaning. As a abstract meaning of syndrome, Zheng(證) has been systematized and complicated with the times, that means changes of syndrome differentiation. The concept of Zheng has been recognized as the symbol that expresses the characteristics of Traditional Medicine since the modern age that concepts of sign and symptom have flowed from Western Medicine into Traditional Medicine. Conclusions : One of the main key of studies about Bianzheng(辨證) in future would have been harmonizing the balance between the two trends of modern Traditional Medicine, ideation and objectification.

The concepts of Yeongwi(營衛) were made from 『Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)』 the most ancient and important book in East Asian Traditional Medicine, that have been used basic theories for the purpose of explaining physiology and pathology of The Oriental Medicine. In this article, through comparing with concepts of Yeongwi(營衛) in Onbyeonghak(溫病學) of Qing[淸] dynasty, some problems were investigated, through what process of thinking the unique pattern identification[辨證] of Wigiyeonghyeol(衛氣營血) had been made although there could be another inductive way, and what is the difference of concepts of Yeongwi(營衛) between 『Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)』 and Onbyeonghak(溫病學).

『Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)』 written by Jeon Uel(錢乙, 1032-1113) in the Song dynasty, is the most old and well know specialty publication of pediatrics in Easter Traditional Medicine. 『Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)』 made a big influence not only on the development of pediatrics in later traditional medicine through the explanations of physiological and pathological knowledge and experiences, but also on application of many effective prescriptions which have been used in many clinics until now days. One of the most important meaning which 『Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)』 has, is that it emphasized on the diagnosis and treatment using the theory of five organs(五臟辨證), and applied it to clinical medicine effectively. In othe words, through application of the theory of five organs in 『Hwangjenargyeong(黃帝內經)』 to practical field, Jeon Uel(錢乙) played role of a ring connecting with studies of herbal medicine in the school of Yeoksu(易水), and the development of the theory of five organs of the four prominent doctors(金元四大家) in the Jin(金) and Yuan(元) dynasty. In this article, also it is investigated that how the theory of interaction among five phases(五行), can be applied to treatment of pediatrics through analysis of related texts in 『Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)』. This studies would be useful to understanding the history and properties of the theory of five organs.
『소문(素問),음양응상대론(陰陽應象大論)』의 기전화(氣轉化) 과정(過程)에 대한 고찰(考察)

In this study, we try to solve some issues of Gi(氣) conversion in 『Somun(素問)·Eumyang-eungsangdaeron(陰陽應象大論)』, through comparison of related annotations. Through this analysis we can again review the cognition of movement and changes of Gi(氣), one of the most important aspects in Oriental medicine, so to have a chance to criticize a view of the world in western science, excessively leaned to material viewpoint. In the process of Gi conversion, the creation of Jeong(精), one of the most essential elements, is the last goal, but physical element for example Mi(味, taste) or Hyeong(形, shape) could not be directly converted to Jeong(精) without Gihwa(氣化, vaporization) and circulation of Gi(氣). And who controls conversion to Jeong(精) is human spirit, that joins with Jeonggi(精氣), it has been kept in and come from Jeong(精). That spirit based on Jeong manages the whole process of Gi conversion.

Objectives : In this study, the meaning of Movement Qi between kidneys(腎間動氣) in Huangdineijingtaisu(黃帝內經太素) is researched for the purpose of understanding the differences between Huangdineijingtaisu and Nanjing(難經) Methods : The annotations related to Movement Qi between kidneys in Huangdineijingtaisu were selected and analyzed to overview the historical changes of the definition. Results : The meaning of Movement Qi between kidneys in Huangdineijingtaisu is not different from that of Nanjing basically, however, Yang Shangshan(楊上善) suggested additional new meanings including penetration meridian(衝脈), pass way for vital energy(氣街), visceral exhaustion pulse(眞藏脈) and so on. Conclusions : The reason that Yang Shangshan explained the circulation of primordial energy(原氣) focusing on penetration meridian is that he tried to connect the actual functions about Movement Qi between kidneys to clinical treatment than the ideal concept in Nanjing.

Jeong(精) and Sin(神) have very close relation in 『Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)』, and jeong(精) is base of sin(神). Jeong is the origin of life force, Sin can be manifested through the Yin-yang inter conversion of Jeong, on the other hand, Jeong can be created through the same conversion of Sin. The Yin-yang inter conversion of Jeong or Sin, means the inclination of Taegeuk(太極) to Unification after division, in this process, life force and creative power are made.
