Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the interrelationships among diversity management, employees' job engagement, and organizational commitment in a deluxe hotel. Methods: In a total of 344 F & B employees obtained from empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model and verified a total of 4 hypotheses using the Amos program. Results: The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, $x^2$=316.722 (df=112), CMIN/df=2.828, GFI=0.899, NFI=0.941, IFI=0.961, TLI=0.953, CFI=0.961, RMSEA=0.073. SEM results showed that diversity management (building cultural awareness: ${\beta}$=0.206; pragmatic management policy; ${\beta}$=0.315) had a positive and significant influence on job engagement. Also, employees' job engagement (${\beta}$=0.623) had significant positive effects on organizational commitment. Conclusion: This study shows diversity management of hotel employees and its effectiveness as well as which diversity management is needed positive attitude.
고급 한국음식 레스토랑의 서비스 품질, 고객의 감정적 반응 및 재방문의도와의 인과관계 연구

The purposes of this study were to understand the influence of perceived service quality in upscale Korean restaurants on a customer's feeling response and revisit intent, and to empirically analyze whether a customer's feeling response plays a mediating role between the service quality and revisit intent. Based on a total 303 samples obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model and verified a total of 2 hypotheses using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using a structural equation model(SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, ${\chi^2}_{(df=263)}=557.397$, CMIN/df 2.119, RMR .09, GFI .88, AGFI .86, NFI .94, CFI .97, RMSEA .06. The major results of this study can be outlined as follows: Price & value($\beta=.40$), food quality($\beta=.26$) and atmosphere($\beta=.15$) had a significant positive effect on the customer's feeling response, and the customer's feeling response($\beta=.65$) had a significant positive effect on revisit intent. In addition, the effect of the perceived service quality in upscale Korean restaurants on revisit intent was found to be partially mediated by the customer's feeling response. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

This study considers the influence of the job satisfaction of employees at deluxe hotels and family restaurants on turnover intent, and seeks to analyze the moderating effects of company type (deluxe hotel and family restaurant) on the relationship between job dissatisfaction and turnover intent. Based on a total of 408 employees, this study reviewed the reliability and validity of the results obtained from empirical research using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously using structural equation modeling (SEM). The major findings are as follows. Job dissatisfaction was separated into five factors: the work itself, promotion, pay and benefits, supervision, and co-workers. The empirical results indicate that job dissatisfaction positively influences the turnover intent of employees. More specifically, the work itself (${\beta}=0.346$, p<0.001), and supervision (${\beta}=0.281$, p<0.001) significantly affects employees' turnover intent, whereas promotion, pay and benefits, and co-workers did not. Therefore, the turnover intent of employees at hotels and family restaurants decreased when they were motivated by strategies related to job dissatisfaction. In addition, the findings demonstrated that the company type moderated the effect of job dissatisfaction (e.g., co-worker) on turnover intent. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
패밀리 레스토랑의 물리적인 환경이 고객의 감정, 만족도 및 재방문 의도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of physical environment of family restaurant upon customers` emotions, satisfaction and revisit intent. Based on total 438 samples obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model using Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using a structural equation model (SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, χ2 592.898(p<0.001), df=239, CMIN/DF 2.481, RMR 0.103, GFI 0.900, NFI 0.952, CFI 0.970, RMSEA 0.058. SEM resulted that the physical environment showed a significant effect on customers` positive emotions(β=0.388, p<0.001) and negative emotions(β=-0.148, p<0.001). Also, customers` positive emotions(β=0.828, p<0.001) had a positive significant effect on customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction(β=0.771, p<0.001) had a positive significant effect on revisit intent. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
스트레스 관리가 왜 중요할까? 특급 호텔 종사원의 직무스트레스가 소진 및 반생산적행동에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to understand the interrelationships among hotel employees` perception of job stress, burnout and counterproductive work behavior in a deluxe hotel. A total of 362 employees working for deluxe hotels in Korea participated. The results showed a positive relationship between employees` perceptions of job stress and burnout. Participants who reported a high level of burnout were more likely to manifest counterproductive work behavior. In addition, employees` prevention focus showed that moderating effects in the causal relationships between employees` burnout and counterproductive work behavior. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
연구논문 : 대응일치분석을 이용한 외식기업의 브랜드개성 고찰: 퀵서비스 레스토랑과 패밀리 레스토랑의 비교

This study investigated and compared the brand personality of domestically run family restaurants with quick service restaurants. Information was elicited from respective patrons using self-administered questionnaires which asked questions on recognizable brand characteristic and attributes of each restaurant through image maps. Data from the self-administrated questionnaires were collected and analysed using comparative statistical analysis, including frequency, t-test, chi-square, factor analysis, reliability analysis and correspondence analysis. Overall, patrons identified 5 factors which they used to rank individual restaurants; sophistication, competence, likeableness, trendiness, and ruggedness. Overall results showed the family restaurants that scored highly on likeableness and trendiness were Outback and TGIF. Furthermore, Vips was the only family restaurants that scored highly in ruggedness. In relation to quick service restaurants, Lotteria scored highest for competence while McDonalds and Burger King scored best for sophistication. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
형질전환 아르테미아(Artemia franciscana) 생산을 위한 리포터 유전자로서 LacZ 유전자의 유용성 검토

We examined the availability of the lacZ gene (β-galactosidase gene) as a reporter of foreign gene transfer in the cysts of Artemia franciscana (A. franciscana) to conduct a risk assessment of living genetically modified organisms (LMOs) in the marine ecosystem. The LacZ gene was transferred to decapsulated cysts by particle bombardment, and its insertion and expression were assessed by means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and X-gal staining. X-gal staining indicated lacZ expression in all A. franciscana examined (including the control group), which exhibited not only negative but also positive PCR amplification. Endogenous β-galactosidase is highly active in the whole body of A. franciscana during all stages of the life cycle. Thus, the lacZ gene is unsuitable as a reporter for foreign gene transfer in A. franciscana cysts, because it is difficult to discriminate between exogenous and endogenous β-galactosidase activity.
호텔 직원의 감정 부조화, 소진 및 직무만족도의 인과관계에서 감정노동 조절효과 연구

The purpose of this study is to consider the moderating effects of employees` emotional labor on the relationships among hotel employees` emotional dissonance, burnout and job satisfaction. The survey was administerd to 377 employees working for deluxe hotels in Korea. The results indicated that the proposed model fit to the data well(χ2=307.888, df=51, p<.001, GFI .890, AFGI .833, NFI .931, IFI .942, CFI .942). The finding showed that employees` emotional dissonance had a significantly positive effect on their burnout (β=.194; t=3.533; p<.001) and a significantly negative effect on job satisfaction(β=-.352; t=-6.906; p<.001). In addition, employees` burnout had a significantly negative effect on their job satisfaction(β=-.267; t=-5.261; p<.001). For the moderating effects of employees` emotional labor on the relationship between emotional dissonance and job satisfaction, the results indicated that significant relationships varied to employees` surface acting whereas deep acting did not. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
