여대생들의 피부유형에 따른 식이섭취 실태조사 및 혈장 생화학적 성분분석

        김정희,정원정 대한지역사회영양학회 1999 대한지역사회영양학회지 Vol.4 No.1

This study was done to investigate the nutrient intakes and plasma biochemcial indices in 68 female college students according to their skin types. Nutrient intakes were investigated by quick estimation. The plasma TG and total cholesterol levels were measured by the Spotchem sp-4410. The plasma levels of retinol and $\alpha$-tocopherol were measured by HPLC. In addition, the activities of antioxidant defense enzymes such as plasma glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and glutathione reductase(GHS-Rd) were determined. All data were statistically analyzed by SAS PC package program. The results of this study were as follows : The average age, height, weight, BMI, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure ofthe subjects were $20.9{\pm}1.9yr, 160.7{\pm}4.3cm, 53.0{\pm}7.1kg, 20.5{\pm}2.4kg/m^2, 105.3{\pm}11.5mmHg and 70.6{\pm}7.7mmHg$, respectively. Ten students(14.7%) had normal skin type, 19 students(27.9%) had dry skin type, 11 students(16.2%) had oily skin type, 17 students(25.0%) had acne and 11 students(16.2%) had mixed skin type. The intakes of energy and fats in oily skin group were significantly higher(p<0.05) than those of the dry skin group, but vitamin C intake in the mixed skin group was significantly higher(p<0.05) than those of the dry skin group, but vitamin C intake in the mixed skin group was significantly lower(p<0.05) than that in other skin types. The intakes of other nutrients were not significantly different among skin types. The analysis of lipids showed that the plasma total-cholesterol level of mixed skin group was significantly lower(p<0.05) than that of the oily skin group, whereas other lipid levels were not significantly different. The other parameters such as retinol, $\alpha$-tocopherol, GSH-Px and GSH-Rd of plasma were not significantly different among skin types. Overall results indicate that dietary intake pattern may influence skin type and thereby some blood biochemical indices can be different by skin types.

20대 젊은 여성의 피부유형에 따른 식이섭취와 혈중지질농도

        최성임,임나리,배현숙 한국피부과학연구원 2011 대한피부미용학회지 Vol.9 No.2

Although it is known that nutritional conditions affect the skin function, little information is available on the effect of dietary intake. This study was performed to compare nutritional intake and serum lipid profile by skin types in 50 female subjects in their 20's. The skin type was divided into Dry skin, Mixed skin, and Oily skin, and the dry skin group was 14%, the mixed skin group was 56%, and the oily skin group was 30% of all subjects. Significant differences were not observed in energy and nutrient intakes by skin type. But, fat intake(saturated fatty acid, mono unsaturated fatty acid, cholesterol) in the Dry skin group was tended to higher than Mixed and Oily skin groups. The concentrations of serum lipids such as total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol were not significantly different among groups. The sebum contents of the chin showed a significant positive correlation(r=0.280, p<0.05). With these results, it is considered that the basic condition of nutritional status can affect the skin health. The possibility to control skin function by diet or neutriceutical intervention is suggested.

( Bo Kyung Kim ),( Myung Soo Jun ),( Sung Jay Choe ),( Seong Jin Kim ),( Sang Hoon Lee ),( Seung Phil Hong ),( Pok Kee Min ),( Hyung Joo Kim ),( Bak Hana ),( Sung Ku Ahn ) 대한피부과학회 2014 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.66 No.2

Background: Baumann skin type which was developed by Dr. Baumann could divide skin type into Oily/Dry(O/D), Sensitive/Resistant(S/R), Pigmented/Non-pigmented(P/N), Tight/ Wrinkled(T/W). There were total of 16 types. It could easily provide the comprehensive information about skin type to both physician and patients. Objectives: We aimed to analyze the Baumann skin type in Korean women and evaluate various factors that affect the skin type. Methods: We investigated 560 Korean women aged between 20 and 59. The subjects completed the questionnaire on four categories(O/D, S/R, P/N, T/W). Results: The most prevalent type was ‘OSNT’ and this was followed by DSNT, DRNT and ORNT. The number of non-pigmented, tight and sensitive type is 2.8 fold, 2.3 fold and 1.8 fold larger than pigmented, wrinkle and resistant type. The oily type was more prevalent in group of young age, whereas dry type is dominant in old age group. The portion of pigmented and wrinkled type increased as the subjects became older. Conclusion: This is the first study on investigation of Baumann skin type in Korean women. Most Korean women have sensitive, non-pigmented and tight skin. The oily type is dominant in young women. By using Baumann skin type, we could recommend the appropriate skin care method to patients. In addition, patients could choose the proper skin care products on their own.

Background: ABO blood group antigen expression was found on many tissues including the granular of the epidermis. Objectives: To investigate the blood type-specific difference in normal skin phenotypes in Korean women. Methods: Skin hydration, transepidermal water loss (TEWL), wrinkle depth, elasticity, or skin erythema/melanin index, were analyzed according to the blood type. Results: The skin hydration at buttock skin showed significantly lower in B blood type individuals than non-blood type B individuals of same young age range (20~49 yr, mean age; 34.0±9.3 yr, n=40), but TEWL of them showed no difference. However, the skin hydration and TEWL in old age range (54~84 yr, mean age; 70.4±6.2 yr, n=126) showed no B blood type-specific difference in inner-arm skin. The eye wrinkle depth in old B blood type individuals also was observed to be significantly deeper than non-B blood type individuals of same old age range. Deeper eye wrinkle was also observed in O blood type than A or AB blood type, but seemed less than B blood type. However, their skin elasticity showed no difference. The melanin index in old B blood type individuals also showed less measurement, which means bright skin color, than non-B blood type individuals, while the erythema index did not. Conclusion: In conclusion, we found that B blood type individuals probably has most distinct skin phenotypes, including less hydration, deeper eye wrinkle, and bright skin color in Korean women.

( Young Bok Lee ),( Hyun Jee Kim ),( Soo Young Lee ),( Jung Min Bae ),( Jin-wou Kim ),( Dong Soo Yu ) 대한피부과학회 2017 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.69 No.2

Background: Post-adolescent acne, which has been increasing in incidence, impacts on the quality of life of patients. However, there has been no evaluation of the skin type of post-adolescent acne in Asian. Objectives: We aimed to evaluate differences between post-adolescent acne skin type and normal skin type using the Baumann Skin Type Indicator in Korean. Methods: Twenty post-adolescent acne patients and thirty normal controls were enrolled in the study. They submitted 64-item questionnaires which were based on the Baumann Skin Type Indicator designed to determine baseline skin type. It defines 16 facial skin types using four dichotomous parameters: dry (D) or oily (O); sensitive (S) or resistant (R); pigmented (P) or non-pigmented (N); and wrinkled (W) or un-wrinkled (tight, T). Results: All post-adolescent acne patients had sensitive skin type (100%). The odds ratio of sensitive skin type was 18.12 (P = 0.05). Acne patients were more associated with the wrinkled skin type (odds ratio of 4.89, P = 0.01) Conclusion: The present study showed that Korean female post-adolescent acne patients were significantly associated with sensitive skin type and wrinkled skin type rather than oily skin type. We suggested that dermatologist should evaluate the skin type of post-adolescent acne patients and recommend appropriate medical skin care, cosmeceuticals, and cosmetics.

Background: Skin types vary, making it difficult to identify them at a glance. To effectively understand skin type, analysis based on a questionnaire could be helpful. Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the accuracy and effectiveness of the Baumann skin type questionnaire (BSTQ) compared with an interview with a dermatologic specialist. In addition, we aimed to identify differences in skin type proportions according to age and develop a modified BSTQ. Methods: Subjects included 202 women (19∼64 years of age) who visited the dermatologic clinic of our hospital. They completed both the BSTQ and an interview with a dermatologic specialist. A modified BSTQ was developed by removing similar and racial questions and adjusting grading scores. Results: The agreement between skin type proportions analyzed by the BSTQ and an interview was not reasonable (κ=0.428, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.363∼0.493). There was a correlation between the proportion of dryness and age (R2=0.029, p<0.05). However, other skin type proportions (sensitivity, pigmentation, and wrinkles) were not significantly correlated with age. The modified BSTQ showed substantial agreement with the BSTQ in skin type proportions (κ=0.691, 95% CI: 0.641∼0.740). Conclusion: We identified the skin types of Korean women of various ages using the BSTQ and an interview. Furthermore, the modified BSTQ might be helpful for accurately recognizing skin types.
