Descriptions of Three New Species of the Family Psychidae (Lepidoptera)
Seung-Jin Roh,Bong-Kyu Byun 한국응용곤충학회 2014 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2014 No.04
This study was conducted to review the Korean Psychidae. In the present study, a total of 10 species belonging to seven genera were recognized from Korea. Among them, three species, Eumeta tamraensis sp. nov., Proutia unhongae sp. nov., and Psyche yeongwolensis sp. nov. are described as new to sciences. All known species were described with illustrations of external and genital characters including ecological characteristics, distributional ranges, and host plants.

Genus Eumasia Chrétien in Psychidae was newly recognized from Korea with an unrecorded species, E. muscella Saigusa and Sugimoto. Larva and male genitalia of the species were described, and DNA barcode for precise identification of the species was also provided.
First Discovery of the Lichen-Feeding Moth Bacotia sakabei (Lepidoptera: Psychidae) from Korea
Roh, Seung Jin,Byun, Bong-Kyu The Korean Society of Systematic Zoology 2017 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.33 No.1
The family Psychidae is a small group consisting of 241 genera and 1,350 species in the world. The genus Bacotia, belonging to the family Psychidae, what was established by Tutt based on the type species, Fumea sepium Speyer and Speyer, 1846. In this study, we aimed to record lichen-feeding bagworms in Korea. The genus Bacotia Tutt is reported for the first time from Korea with one newly recorded species, Bacotia sakabei Seino, 1981. All available information, including the collecting localities, host plants, illustrations of adults and genitalia are presented. A DNA barcode for precise identification of the species is also described.

Systematic Study of the Psychidae (Lepidoptera) in the Korean Peninsula
Seung Jin Roh,Bong-Kyu Byun 한국응용곤충학회 2016 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2016 No.10
This study was conducted to review the family Psychidae in the Korean peninsula with taxonomic arrangement, some biological notes and phylogenetic analyses. In this study, totally 20 species of 8 genera belonging to 5 subfamilies in the family were recognized from Korea. Among them, a new subfamily Ceratostiinae subfam. nov. is proposed based on the type genus Ceratosticha Meyrick. Four new species are described as new to science. Also, six newly recorded species are first recorded in this study. In addition, ecological characteristics, distributional ranges, host plants and biological notes including life cycle and parasites on the larva were described. A phylogenetic and a molecular clock analysis were conducted to construct the systematic relationship and evolutionary process within the family Psychidae species.
A Newly Recorded Genus and Species of Bruandella Tutt (Lepidoptera: Psychidae) from Korea
Seung Jin Roh,Bong-Kyu Byun 한국응용곤충학회 2016 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2016 No.04
In this study, a genus Bruandella Tutt with B. niphonica (Hori, 1926) is reported for the first time from Korea. This study is aimed to report a newly recorded genus and species. All available information for the species including the distributional ranges and host plants were presented in this study. Also the larval characteristics and DNA barcode analysis for the species are provided.
