      • Secretion of Virulence Proteins from Campylobacter jejuni Is Dependenton a Functional Flagellar Export Apparatus

        Campylobacter jejuni, a gram-negative motile bacterium, secretes a set of proteins termed the Campylobacter invasion antigens (C ia proteins). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the flagellar apparatus serves as the export apparatus for the Cia proteins. M utations were generated in five genes encoding three structural components of the flagella, the flagellar basal body (JigB and flgC ), hook (JigE2),and filament (flaA and flaB ) genes, as well as in genes whose products are essential for flagellar protein export (JlhB and flil). W hile mutations that affected filament assembly were found to be nonmotile (Mot<sup>-</sup> ) and did not secrete Cia proteins (S<sup>-</sup>), a flaA iflaB<sup>+</sup>) filament mutant was found to be nonmotile but Cia protein secretion competent(Mot<sup>-</sup>, S<sup>+</sup>). Complementation of a flaA flaB double mutant with a shuttle plasmid harboring either the flaA or flaB gene restored Cia protein secretion, suggesting that Cia export requires at least one of the two filament proteins. Infection of INT 407 human intestinal cells with the C. jejuni mutants revealed that maximal invasion of the epithelial cells required motile bacteria that are secretion competent. Collectively, these data suggest that the C. jejuni Cia proteins are secreted from the flagellar export apparatus.

      • Weak screening of a large dipolar molecule adsorbed on graphene

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We compare the electronic structure of a quinonoid zwitterionic type molecule adsorbed on both gold and graphene on copper substrates. This (6<I>Z</I>)-4-(butylamino)-6-(butyliminio)-3-oxocyclohexa-1,4-dien-1-olate, C<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>2</SUB>(⋯_NHR)<SUB>2</SUB>(⋯_O)<SUB>2</SUB> where R=<I>n-</I>C<SUB>4</SUB>H<SUB>9</SUB>, film is made of small molecules with a large intrinsic dipole of 10Debyes. We find that the photoemission and inverse photoemission final states are well screened for these dipolar molecules on gold. This is not observed when they are adsorbed on graphene on copper. This weaker screening results in a larger highest occupied molecular orbital to lowest unoccupied molecular orbital gap for the molecules on graphene.</P>

        Now a days, fraud is a million dollar business and every year it is increasing more and more. In a crime survey in 2009, tells that close to 30% of the company’s worldwide reported falling victim to fraud in the past year. Fraud involves individual or in a form of groups who intentionally act secretly to rob another of something of worth, for their own profit. Fraud is as against the humanity and it is unlimited variety of different forms. So in this paper, we introduce different methods and techniques to tackle the fraud and how to prevent the fraud into the organization, businesses, and hospital and insurance companies. Fraud prevention is a continuing battle. Many website owners must continually fight against many kinds of crime ranging from stealing identity theft and credit cards and many other types of fraud related to that. Internet Fraud is also very popular, where fraudster can steal the credit card number and buy thing from the different websites.

        Experimental and Computational Approaches to the Molecular Structure of 3-(2-Mercaptopyridine)phthalonitrile

        The compound 3-(2-Mercaptopyridine)phthalonitrile has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV-vis, and X-ray single-crystal determination. The molecular geometry from X-ray determination of the title compound in the ground state has been compared using the Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) with the 6-31G(d) basis set. The calculated results show that the DFT and HF can well reproduce the structure of the title compound. The energetic behavior of the title compound in solvent media was examined using the B3LYP method with the 6-31G(d) basis set by applying the Onsager and polarizable continuum model. Using the TD-DFT and TD-HF methods, electronic absorption spectra of the title compound have been predicted and good agreement with the TD-DFT method and the experimental determination was found. The predicted nonlinear optical properties of the title compound are much greater than those of urea. Besides, molecular electrostatic potential of the title compound were investigated by theoretical calculations. The thermodynamic properties of the compound at different temperatures have been calculated and corres ponding relations between the properties and temperature have also been obtained.
