Privacy Protection Method for Sensitive Weighted Edges in Social Networks

Privacy vulnerability of social networks is one of the major concerns for social science research and business analysis. Most existing studies which mainly focus on un-weighted network graph, have designed various privacy models similar to k-anonymity to prevent data disclosure of vertex attributes or relationships, but they may be suffered from serious problems of huge information loss and significant modification of key properties of the network structure. Furthermore, there still lacks further considerations of privacy protection for important sensitive edges in weighted social networks. To address this problem, this paper proposes a privacy preserving method to protect sensitive weighted edges. Firstly, the sensitive edges are differentiated from weighted edges according to the edge betweenness centrality, which evaluates the importance of entities in social network. Then, the perturbation operations are used to preserve the privacy of weighted social network by adding some pseudo-edges or modifying specific edge weights, so that the bottleneck problem of information flow can be well resolved in key area of the social network. Experimental results show that the proposed method can not only effectively preserve the sensitive edges with lower computation cost, but also maintain the stability of the network structures. Further, the capability of defending against malicious attacks to important sensitive edges has been greatly improved.

We employed a potent and versatile ionic self-assembly (ISA) to prepare stimuli-responsive supramolecular materials using charged surfactants, N-dodecyl-4-(1-methylpip-erazine)-1,8-naphthalimide iodine [C12ndi]I and oppositely charged small molecule, 4-(phenylazo)benzoic acid sodium (PBAS). By transmission electron microscopy, nanospheres could be observed to transform into nanofibers upon irradiated with UV light (365 nm) for 1 h. The UVevis absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra of the fibers indicate that charge-transfer interaction is regarded as the driving force for the formation of fibers. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations prove that the pep stacking and electrostatic interactions between [C12ndi]I and PBAS contributes significantly to the resulting aggregates. The supramolecular fibers have the potential applications in some fields, e.g. drug delivery and electro-optical devices.
Molecular Epidemiology and Prevalence of Echovirus 30 in Zhejiang Province, China, from 2002 to 2015

Echovirus serotype 30 (ECHO30) has been responsible for several recent worldwide outbreaks of viral meningitis. In Zhejiang Province, China, ECHO30 has been one of the main causes of viral meningitis for years. This study, using phylogenetic analysis of the VP1 gene, was performed to investigate the general molecular epidemiology and genetic patterns of ECHO30 circulating in Zhejiang Province between the years 2002 and 2015. The nucleotide sequences of ECHO30 VP1 showed that they were 64.8% identical with the prototype strain, Bastianni, while the amino acids were 84.9% identical. Phylogenetic analyses showed that ECHO30 in the Zhejiang area has diverged into two genotypes. Genotype I consists of strains isolated since 2002, whereas genotype II includes strains that were mainly isolated during the 2002 to 2004 outbreak. ECHO30 has been endemically circulating in both humans and the environment for a long period of time. Additionally, we evaluated the significance of recombination presented during the years 2005 to 2007 to demonstrate that recombination plays an important role in the prevalence of ECHO30 in the Zhejiang area.
