        석탄 가스화를 통한 전력 생산과 DME 병산 공정에 대한 기초 경제성 분석

        석탄가스화를 기반으로 한 발전(IGCC 발전) 및 화학원료 제조공정의 상업화 관건은 화석연료인 원유 또는 천연가스를 기반으로 생산되는 경우와 비교하여 경제성을 확보할 수 있는지 여부이다. 경제성 확보를 위한 가장 현실적인 방법으로는 석탄 가스화를 통해 얻어진 합성가스로부터 2개 이상의 생산물(예: 발전과 화학원료를 동시 생산)을 병산(coproduction또는 poly-generation)하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 석탄 가스화를 기반으로 하여 발전과 수송용, 발전용 및 가정용 연료로 사용이 가능한 DME(dimethyl ether)를 병산하는 공정에 대한 경제성 분석을 실시하였다. 경제성 분석을 위한 병산 공정에서는 250 MW 전력생산 연간 30만 톤의 DMZ 생산을 기준으로 하였다. 병산 공정에서 DME 판매가격이 50만원/ton인 경우, 전기 생산원가는 34.8~58.4원/kWh으로 SMP(계통한계가격) 가중평균인 150.69원/kwh(2013년 1월~12월까지의 평균값)의 33~58% 수준으로 산정되었다. 따라서, DME 판매가격이 적정하게 유지될 경우 석탄IGCC+DME 병산공정은 IGCC 단독 발전과 비교하여 경제성을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 현재 중국에서 DME판매가격이 900,000원/톤 내외이므로, 전력과 DME를 병산할 경우, IGCC 단독으로 전력을 생산할 경우와 비교하여 전력 생산 원가를 월등하게 낮출 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 이와 같이 석탄 가스화를 기반으로 한 병산 공정을 통해 전력과 DME를 병산하는 시스템에서, 시장 여건에 따라 전력과 DME 생산비율 제어가 가능하고, 석탄 가스화기 및 정제 시스템을 공통 설비로 활용함으로써, 개별적으로 생산하는 것보다 생산 원가를 낮출 수 있다는 결과를 얻었다. The key for the commercial deployment of IGCC power plants or chemical (methanol, dimethyl ether, etc.) production plants based on coal gasification is their economic advantage over plants producing electricity or chemicals from crude oil or natural gas. The better economy of coal gasification based plants can be obtained by co-production of electricity and chemicals. In this study, we carried out the economic feasibility analysis on the process of co-producing electricity and DME (dimethyl ether) using coal gasification. The plant’s capacity was 250 MW electric and DME production of 300,000 ton per year. Assuming that the sales price of DME is 500,000 won/ton, the production cost of electricity is in the range of 33~58% of 150.69 won/kwh which is the average of SMP (system marginal price) in 2013, Korea. At present, the sales price of DME in China is approximately 900,000 won/ton. Therefore, there are more potential for lowering the price of co-produced electricity when comparing that from IGCC only. Since the co-production system can not only use the coal gasifier and the gas purification process as a common facility but also can control production rates of electricity and DME depending on the market demand, the production cost of electricity and DME can be significantly reduced compared to the process of producing electricity or DME separately.

        When G is a locally compact Abelian topological group, L_1(G) is a commutative Banach algebra consisting of equvalence class of complex-valued Borel measurable function on G that are integrable with respect to a Haar measure λ on G, and that the multiplication is given by convolution. By G^ we will denote the set of all continuous homomorphisms of G into Γ= {η: |η| =1, η∈C}. If r∈G^, we say that r is a continuous character of G, write r(t) =<t, r> for all t∈G. Then we shall, trivially, see that if r is not identically zero and <t+s, r>=<t, r>·<s, r> for all t,s∈G, then (1) <0, r>=1 (2) |<t, r>| =1 for all t∈G (3) <-t, r>=1/<t, r>=<t, r>― for all t∈G. Also, its character group G^ is the maximal ideal space of L₁(G), and a locally compact Abelian topological group with the Gelfand topology and the group operations (ⅰ) <t, r+w>=<t, r>·<t, w> (ⅱ) <t, -r> = <-t, r> for all t∈G, r, w∈G^. By the duality theorem, G and G^ are symmetric, i.e. G is a character group of G^. The main purpose of this paper is to show that a characteristic function μ^ of Gaussian measure μ on Δ[L₁(G)] is μ^(r)= ∫_Gμ(t)<t,r>dλ(t). In particular, <t, r>=1 for almost all t,t≠t_0 in G and r∈G^, then μ has no idempotent factor.

        Diagnosis of Central Nervous System Tuberculosis by T-Cell-Based Assays on Peripheral Blood and Cerebrospinal Fluid Mononuclear Cells

        <B>ABSTRACT</B><P>In active tuberculosis (TB), <I>Mycobacterium tuberculosis</I>-specific T cells are compartmentalized more to the site of infection than to the circulating blood. Therefore, an <I>M. tuberculosis</I>-specific enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) assay with samples from the site of infection may permit a more sensitive or specific diagnosis of active central nervous system (CNS) TB than that achieved by the assay with blood alone. Therefore, we prospectively evaluated the usefulness of circulating and compartmentalized mononuclear cell (MC; i.e., peripheral blood mononuclear cell [PBMC] and cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] MC)-based ELISPOT assays (i.e., the T-SPOT.TB test) for the diagnosis of active TB in patients with suspected CNS TB. The clinical categories of CNS TB were classified as described previously (G. E. Thwaites, T. T. Chau, K. Stepniewska, N. H. Phu, L. V. Chuong, D. X. Sinh, N. J. White, C. M. Parry, and J. J. Farrar, Lancet 360:1287-1292, 2002). Thirty-seven patients with suspected CNS TB were enrolled over a 12-month period. Of these, 31 (84%) showed clinical manifestations of suspected TB meningitis and 6 (16%) gave indications of intracranial tuberculoma with disseminated TB. The final clinical categories of the 37 patients with suspected CNS TB were as follows: 12 (32%) were classified as having CNS TB (7 with confirmed TB, 3 with probable TB, and 2 with possible TB) and 25 (68%) were classified as not having active TB. The sensitivity and specificity of the PBMC ELISPOT assay were 91% (95% confidence interval [CI], 59% to 100%) and 63% (95% CI, 41% to 81%), respectively. By comparison, the sensitivity and specificity of the CSF MC ELISPOT assay were 75% (95% CI, 19% to 99%) and 75% (95% CI, 43% to 95%), respectively. When the ratio of the CSF MC ELISPOT assay results to the PBMC ELISPOT results was 2 or more, the sensitivity and specificity were 50% (95% CI, 7% to 93%) and 100% (95% CI, 74% to 100%), respectively. The ELISPOT assay with PBMCs and CSF MCs is a useful adjunct to the current tests for the diagnosis of CNS TB.</P>

        Possible Presence of an Interleukin-6-Like Molecule in the Immunized Bombyx mori L. (Lepidoptera)

        Cytokines represent an essential part of the innate immune response in mammals. Recently, several studies have reported the presence of cytokine-like activities and molecules in the invertebrates such as echinoderms, tunicates, mollusks and insects. In our serial study, we investigated presence of cytokines in the silkworm, Bombyx mori, infected with several immune inducers. Western blotting analysis using rabbit anti-human cytokines showed the presence of IL-6-like molecule in the hemolymph collected at 8 and 24 hrs after infection with peptidoglycan and oligodeoxynucleotide, and the molecular weight of the proteins was ∼45 kDa. We attempted to isolate the molecule by gel permeation HPLC, anion exchange chromatography, ultra centrifugation, and immuno-dot-blot assay, but until now the effort was not much successful yet. It, however, does not appear that the IL-6-like molecule in the silkworm larvae is a mere experimental artifact happened by Western blotting analysis. Instead, further experiment on this subject probably will provide us more fruitful result as detected in other invertebrates including insects.

Tortrat showed, at 1967, that infinitely divisible probability measures μ without idempotent factor on the Polish Abelian group G can be decomposed by abstract convolution as following : For a generalized Poisson measure exp(ν) and a probability measure ρ without idempotent factor of Poisson type. μ=ρ*exp(ν) Futhermore, by using his result, T. Byczkowski and T. Za˙k, at 1984, had obtained following result : Every symmetric semigroup of probability measures without idempotent factors on G can also be decomposed as A. Tortrat's result. In this notes, our interests are the decomposition of the Poisson semigroup on a hypergroup.

        <P>Growth hormone (GH) is a key metabolic regulator mediating glucose and lipid metabolism. Ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) is a member of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase superfamily and regulates cell cycle progression. The orphan nuclear receptor small heterodimer partner (SHP: NR0B2) plays a pivotal role in regulating metabolic processes. Here, we studied the role of ATM on GH-dependent regulation of hepatic gluconeogenesis in the liver. GH induced phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) and glucose 6-phosphatase gene expression in primary hepatocytes. GH treatment and adenovirus-mediated STAT5 overexpression in hepatocytes increased glucose production, which was blocked by a JAK2 inhibitor, AG490, dominant negative STAT5, and STAT5 knockdown. We identified a STAT5 binding site on the PEPCK gene promoter using reporter assays and point mutation analysis. Up-regulation of SHP by metformin-mediated activation of the ATM-AMP-activated protein kinase pathway led to inhibition of GH-mediated induction of hepatic gluconeogenesis, which was abolished by an ATM inhibitor, KU-55933. Immunoprecipitation studies showed that SHP physically interacted with STAT5 and inhibited STAT5 recruitment on the PEPCK gene promoter. GH-induced hepatic gluconeogenesis was decreased by either metformin or Ad-SHP, whereas the inhibition by metformin was abolished by SHP knockdown. Finally, the increase of hepatic gluconeogenesis following GH treatment was significantly higher in the liver of SHP null mice compared with that of wild-type mice. Overall, our results suggest that the ATM-AMP-activated protein kinase-SHP network, as a novel mechanism for regulating hepatic glucose homeostasis via a GH-dependent pathway, may be a potential therapeutic target for insulin resistance.</P>

        Evaluation of Genetic Diversity among Korean Wheat Using RAPD and ISSR Analysis

        The genetic diversity was evaluated using RAPD and ISSR among natural populations and Korean wheat cultivars (Triticum aestivum). Understanding the genetic diversity of putative parental and wild stocks would be useful in wheat breeding programs. Ninety three populations were evaluated with fifty RAPD and three ISSR primers. A total of 185 RAPD and ISSR polymorphism were produced. These markers were considered to estimate the genetic distance among accessions. The genetic similarity ranged from 0.41 to 0.86. The dendrogram were constructed by using the UPGMA clustering algorithm based on genetic similarity. The genetic diversity within and among accession was assessed through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for statistics analysis. In cluster analysis, four groups were clustered and 17 accessions were not clustered. The PCA was corresponded well to the result. This study provides basic information about the genetic relationships for breeding purposes.

      • Orey Theorem for a Certain Random Walk

        확률 과정론에서 나타나는 tail σ-field와 invariant σ-field에 대한 이론은 Blackwell(1954)에 의해 제기되었고 Freedman(1964)에 의해 발전되었다. 일반적으로 tail σ-field와 invariant σ-field는 어떤 특별한 집합족의 분할에 대해서 정의될 수 있고 이를 이용해서 Orey(1962)는 그러한 분할에서의 state에 대하여 행렬 p^n의 극한성을 조사하였다. 본 논문에서는 Freedman이 제기한 random walk 문제에 대하여 tail σ-field와 invariant σ-field를 새롭게 정의하고 그러한 random walk에 대하여 Orey 정리를 진술한다.
