<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Odorant receptors are the largest subfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and were recently suggested to play critical roles in nonolfactory tissues. However, the expression and function of odorant receptors in astrocytes, the most abundant cells in the brain, are not well known. We demonstrate that Olfr920 is highly expressed and propose that it functions as a short-chain fatty acid sensor in primary cortical astrocytes. The short-chain fatty acid isobutyric acid (IBA) was identified via a luciferase assay as an Olfr920 ligand. We show that IBA activates the G<SUB>s</SUB> protein-adenylyl cyclase-cAMP pathway via Olfr920 in primary cortical astrocytes by using cAMP and knockdown analyses. In addition, IBA reduces lipopolysaccharide-induced glial fibrillary acidic protein expression in reactive astrocytes. Acrolepiopsis nagaimo (Yasuda, 2000) belonging to the family Acrolepiidae (Lepidoptera) is newly discovered in Korea. The species was first collected wild at Wol-ak-san [Mt.] a few years ago and they were recently found to infest Chinese yam, Dioscoreabatatas at a Chinese yam experimental field of the Institute for Bioresources Research located at Andong. Diagnostic characteristics of the adult are described and photographs of adult and male and female genitalia are provided.
A strategy to reduce the output-buffer skew for hierarchical DLL

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>This paper describes a skew reducing strategy between the delay of replica model and that of the output-buffer along with variable external loads for a hierarchical delay-locked loop (DLL). The delay is initialized at the closest digitized value that is smaller than that of the output-buffer. Then, the precise open-loop based modification follows according to the detected accuracy of less than 100 ps in the vernier-scaled time-measurement circuit. The measured results of the test Si in a 0.35-μm CMOS process reveal the validity of the proposed strategy.</P>
A Treatment for Truncated Boundary in a Half-Space with 2-D Rayleigh Wave BEM

Analysis of two-dimensional Rayleigh wave scattering pattern by a surface defect is studied through modified boundary element method. BEM proposed in this paper has special treatment at each end of boundary which should have the Rayleigh wave go away without any generation of virtual reflections. It is shown that treatment for truncated boundary which is used to model two-dimensional Rayleigh waves" behavior in an elastic half-space is successfully implemented. To check numerical results" accuracy, time domain IFFT signal of the displacements is presented. Improvement on getting rid of unwanted influence of truncated boundary induced by 2-D Rayleigh waves on a flat surface of an elastic half-infinite medium is shown. As a final goal, the numerical results of Rayleigh wave scattering trend are plotted and they are compared with theoretical curves to prove its accuracy.

부산을 중심으로 하는 선용품 시장은 다양한 기업의 숫자뿐만 아니라 그만큼 넓은 사업영역을 가지고 있다. 이를 세계시장에 어필하고, 우수기업을 발굴 · 육성하여 산업경쟁력을 강화해하는 것은 나아가 국가산업경쟁력의 일환으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 지방정부 차원의 마케팅 활동을 하기 위한 수단으로서의 인증브랜드를 개발함에 있어, 특히, 색채가 가지는 중요성을 통해 지역을 대표하는 인증브랜드 육성을 목표로 한다. 한편 다양한 산업업종을 통합하고, 공신력을 함께 추구할 수 있는 브랜드 개발에 있어 색채의 중요성을 연구하고, 이를 적용하는 과정을 함께 가진다. 가장 효율적인 브랜드 정착과 개발, 이후 활용을 위한 연구를 통해서 부산 선용품 시장만이 가진 아이덴티티를 추구하고 이후 서브브랜드로의 분화를 위한 기초자료 연구를 목적으로 한다.

지상연소시험을 통해 이중펄스모타 성능을 입증하였다. 이중펄스를 구현하기위해 고체로켓모타 내부에 격벽형 펄스분리장치와 독립적인 점화기를 설치하였다. 주요 개발목표는 세부분으로 나뉘어진다. 첫째, 이중펄스 추진기관의 총역적은 동일형상 및 무게를 갖는 고체로켓모타에 비해 총역적이 90% 이상이어야 한다. 둘째, 1단 펄스 종료 후 1 ~ 60초 중 임의의 시간 후 2단 펄스를 점화시킬 수 있어야 한다. 마지막으로, 펄스분리장치는 1단 펄스 작동압력에서 견디며 2단 작동압력의 30% 이하에서 파열되어야 한다. 지상연소시험 결과 이러한 개발목표를 달성하는 것을 확인하였다. The ground tests of the dual pulse solid rocket motors(SRM) were performed to prove the performance of the developed dual pulse solid rocket motors. To achieve dual pulse, pulse seperation device(PSD) and independent ignition systems were installed between the 1st pulse motor and the 2nd pulse motor. The three major development goals are as follow. First, the total impulse of the dual pulse SRM must be over 90% of the single SRM which has same envelopment and weight. Second, the ignition of the 2nd pulse motor can be started at any time between 0 and 60 seconds after termination of the 1st pulse motor. Last, the rupture disk of PSD must not be broken at the 1st pulse pressure, but be broken at below 30% of the 2nd pulse operating pressure. The results of the ground tests satisfied the development goals.
