H.264 is the latest video standard recommended by the ITU-T Joint Video Coding Experts Group, in which fractional-pel motion compensation is applied in order to achieve more accurate motion description and higher compression efficiency. However, It remarkably increases the complexity in motion estimation process. In this paper, an efficient fast quarter-pel motion estimation algorithm is proposed.

<P>We investigated ethnicity-specific exonic variants of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and its related clinical phenotypes in an East Asian population. We performed whole-exome sequencing in 917 T2D case and control subjects, and the findings were validated by exome array genotyping in 3,026 participants. In silico replication was conducted for seven nonsynonymous variants in an additional 13,122 participants. Single-variant and gene-based association tests for T2D were analyzed. A total of 728,838 variants were identified by whole-exome sequencing. Among nonsynonymous variants, PAX4 Arg192His increased risk of T2D and GLP1R Arg131Gln decreased risk of T2D in genome-wide significance (odds ratio [OR] 1.48, P = 4.47 x 10(-16) and OR 0.84, P = 3.55 x 10(-8), respectively). Another variant at PAX4 192 codon Arg192Ser was nominally associated with T2D (OR 1.62, P = 5.18 x 10(-4)). In T2D patients, PAX4 Arg192His was associated with earlier age at diagnosis, and GLP1R Arg131Gln was associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular disease. In control subjects without diabetes, the PAX4 Arg192His was associated with higher fasting glucose and GLP1R Arg131Gln was associated with lower fasting glucose and HbA(1c) level. Gene-based analysis revealed that SLC30A8 was most significantly associated with decreased risk of T2D (P = 1.0 x 10(-4)). In summary, we have identified nonsynonymous variants associated with risk of T2D and related phenotypes in Koreans.</P>

측판이 설치된 코안다 플랩을 이용한 음속제트의 추력편향특성에 대한 실험적 연구가 진행되었다. 고정확도 추력편향 시험장치와 쉴러린 유동가시화 기법이 연구에 응용되었다. 측판의 설치로 인하여 코안다 플랩 하류에서의 제트유동 박리가 지연되었고, 약한 이력현상을 동반한 67도에 가까운 높은 추력편향각이 관찰되었다. An experimental study for characteristics of the thrust vectoring of a sonic jet utilizing the coanda flap with side plates was performed. A multi-component force measurement system of a high accuracy and Schlieren flow visualization were employed for the study. The jet flow separation at the downstream of the coanda surface was delayed by installation of the side plates, and high deflection angle of the jet flow up to 67° accompanying a weak hysteresis phenomenon was observed.

This study relates to the design of a vehicle control system for controlling an electric two-wheeler system with a drive device operating at a high voltage. In recent years, Micro-mobility has been gaining traction as the new means of mobility of the future, and it is expected that in the future the adoption of short-range use or non-owned shared vehicles in the mobility market will expand. Among the micro-mobility, electric two-wheelers are eco-friendly and economical, and in addition to this, vehicle sharing must be accompanied by a battery exchange system and data-based services. In this case, the electric two-wheeler system generally consists of 5 sub-systems : the powertrain system, the energy management system, the cooling system, the vehicle control system, and the connectivity system. In order to control such an electric two-wheeler system, it is necessary to design an appropriate system platform for the element system to be controlled and a design process for each controller. In this paper, we have focused on designing a control system architecture and control method to ensure that the control is done appropriately from the perspective that the vehicle control system, which is the top-level controller, views the subsystem as the object of control. The sub-control modules of the vehicle control system were constituted and the functional elements of each module were defined to enable organic cooperative control between the control objects through architectural design and verification according to the V-Process. This is expected to improve the productivity and quality of more diverse and complex electric two-wheeler systems.
전기이륜차 커넥티드 차량 제어 시스템 개발에 대한 연구

With the continuous development of Internet of Things technology, the field of connected cars, which is its application field, is also attracting attention. A connected car is a vehicle that has connectivity with an external network using communication technologies such as LTE and 5G, and is an active vehicle control system that collects data, generates information, and exchanges control data with each other for real-time processing. In the case of electric two-wheeled vehicles, it is also applied as a major technology, and it uses the LTE / BLE communication method through the modem and Bluetooth device mounted on the VCU, which is the top-level controller of the vehicle, and uses the web server, smartphone app, Bluetooth keyfob. In addition, it includes vehicle control functions such as theft detection notification, keyfob command reception, and remote blocking of vehicle operation, as well as vehicle speed, mileage, and warning lights, which are basic functions of the passenger car cluster, and the status information of the vehicle is stored on the server through the modem, as well as the GPS-based vehicle movement location record and driver usage information such as the users vehicle driving pattern. In this way, it is necessary to supply power at all times through an auxiliary battery for functional operation in a situation where the driver is not on board, which requires close cooperation with the transition of the operating mode of the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a software architecture design for connectivity services of electric two-wheelers and present the possibility through actual vehicle verification tests.
