        Gastric Adenocarcinoma of Fundic Gland Type with Aggressive Transformation and Lymph Node Metastasis: a Case Report

        A 55-year-old man visited our hospital for a detailed examination of a gastric submucosal tumor that was first detected 10 years prior. The tumor continued to grow and had developed a depressed area in its center. A histopathological examination of biopsy specimens revealed gastric adenocarcinoma of the fundic gland type (GA-FG). It was diagnosed as T2 based on the invasion depth as determined by white-light endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography. A total gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy was performed and a GA-FG in the mucosa and submucosa was confirmed histopathologically. However, there was a gradual transition to an infiltrative tubular adenocarcinoma with poorly differentiated components in the muscular and subserosal layers. Metastasis was identified in a dissected lymph node (LN). This is the first report of a GA-FG progressing to an aggressive cancer with LN metastasis. These findings modify our understanding of the pathophysiology of GA-FG.

      • Useful components as an indicator of air quality in urban area

        端市大氣質の評術に有劾な化字物質を?藥するために高密度都市域における浮?粉じん中のタイヤトしッドおよび無機?類の濃度を1988年の春と1989年の夏に側定した. 大氣試料の捕集は人間活動の週期を考盧してサソプリソプ其間中4-8時間ごとに連續してった.本硏究では,?化物,硝酸?,硫酸?, アソモニウム?,ナトリウム?, ナトリウム?などの無機?類の垂直濃度分布を求め,タイヤド成分のそれらと比較?討した. その結果, 都市域の大氣中タイヤトレッド濃度の日および週?化は浮?粉じんのそれらと非常に類似しており, 自動車の通行量に代表される人問活動の周期によく一致していることがわった. これよりタイヤトレッド成分は都市大氣質の指標物質として有?であることが示された. The concentrations of tire trend and inorganic salts in suspended particulate matter were measured in the high density urban area in summer and spring (Aug. 1988 and March 1989). One of the sampling sites was located in the high density urban area of Shinjuku, Tokyo and another was in Hiyoshi, Yokohama about 20km south-west of Tokyo. The concentration and vertical distribution of cations such as ammonium and sodium ions as well as anions such as chloride, nitrate and sulfate ions were monitored and compared to those of tire tread in the urban area. A good correlation was found between the concentration levels of ammonium ions and those of sulfate ions. The variation of the concentrations of tire tread in the urban atmosphere is highly correlated to that of suspended particulate matter. The daily and weekly behavior of tire-tread particles in the high density urban area is explained by a cycle of human activities such as motor vehicles. A useful component for the evaluation of air quality was found to be tire tread by examining a correlation of the concentrations of tire tread to those of inorganic salts and to human activities in the urban area.

      • Diurnal variations of tire tread concentration in particulate matter

        高密度都市域における浮?粉じんの拳動と入間活動の周期の開係を把握するため, 東京都新宿において夏孝?と春に李に浮?粉じん中のタイヤトレッド成分濃度の?時?化を調べた. その結果, タイヤトレッド成分の大氣中は濃度は?間に高く夜間に低いこと, また日曜日より平日に高くなることがわかった. この濃度?化の?向は都市域における人間活動の週期とよく一致していた. 一方, 都心より約 20km離れた橫浜市日吉における大氣中タイヤトレッ濃度は風向により?化し, 特に北西および北東の風の日に高かった. さらに, 浮?粉じんの垂直分布の測定から, 大氣中のタイヤトレッドは他の浮?粉じんよりも粒?が大きいことが示された. The Daily and weekly variations of the concentration of tire tread in the atmosphere were measured at the high density urban area in Shinjuku, Tokyo in summer and spring. The air samples were continuously collected through the monitoring periods with a 4~8 h sampling cycle to discuss the variations of the concentrations of tire tread in relation to a fundamental cycle of human activities. The concentration of tire tread in the urban air was clearly high on the day time compared to that in the night and higher weekdays than Sunday. These tendencies are in accordance with a cycle of human activities or a cycle of daily life in the urban area. The concentration to tire tread in Hiyoshi, Yokohama located about 20km from the center of Tokyo depends on the direction of the wind. Particularly, it was high when the wind came from the north-west and the north-east. The vertical distribution of tire tread in the atmosphere indicated that the particle sizes of tire tread are larger than those of suspended particulate matter other than rubber particles.

        중앙아시아 벽화 보존처리(1) : 벽화(본4074, 본4096)의 상태조사

        국립중앙박물관은 용산 새 박물관의 전시 유물로 선정된 중앙아시아 벽화의 연차적인 보존처리를 위해 “독립행정법인 일본 도쿄문화재연구소’’와 공동연구를 모색하게 되었다. 2001년에 본4074, 본4096 작은 벽화편 2점의 보존처리를 시작하면서 벽화의 균열 박락 등 손상상태, 구조와 구성재료, 이전 보존처리에서 적용된 재료와 방법에 대한 기초조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과 본4074, 본4096 2점의 벽화는 흙과 지푸라기를 반죽하여 만든 벽체에 석고를 발라 바탕으로 하고 그 위에 채색을 한 것으로 나타났으며 벽체 속에 포함된 지푸라기의 방사선 탄소연대측정 결과 본 벽화는 10세기 말에서 13세기 초에 만들어진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 X-선회절 분석 결과 화면의 흰색 바탕은 gypsum[Ca(SO₄)·2H₂O]과 CaSO₄, Calcite(CaCO₃)가 적색계통은 연단(鉛丹:Pb₃O₄)과 led arsenate[Pb(As₂O₆)], 녹색계통은 Cuprite(Cu₂O)와 arsenolite(As₂O₃), arsenic oxide(As₂O₄) 등이 사용된 것으로 조사되었다. This article is about a joint project carried out by the National Museum of Korea and the Tokyo Cultural Properties Research Institute for the conservation of central Asia Wall painting that has been selected for the exhibition at the new Seoul National Museum of Korea at Yongsan. The investigation of the wall painting revealed very useful information. This includes the condition of the object, and the identification of evident damage, such as cracks, loss of pigment, plus materials and methods employed during the object's creation, as well as previous conservation treatment. The object was mainly made by applying plaster to the body (wall) that consisted of a mixture of soils and rice straws. Then, on the surface of the wall-painting, pigments were used to draw and to colour it. As a part of the investigation, radiocarbon dating was conducted using straw samples taken from the object. The result indicates that the object is probably dated form between the end of the 10th Century and the beginning of the 13th Century. The result of X-ray diffraction also revealed the composition of the pigments used on the surface. These are 1. gypsom[Ca(SO₄)·2H₂O], CaSO₄ and Calcite(CaCO₃) and Calcite(CaCO₃) that were used for the white background. 2. Pb₃O₄ and led Arsenate [Pb(As₂O₆) that were used for the red colouring. 3. Cuprite(Cu₂O), Arsenolite(As₂O₃) and Arsenic Oxide(As₂O₄) that were used for the green colouring.
