Logistics industry is being an important industry in Vietnam with the contribution from 8-10% of GDP recently. This industry employs about 15 millions people. Increasing the employees’ job satisfaction is become one of the most concerns of managers in logistics companies to strengthen the employee engagement and improve their business performance. The aim of this study is to investigate how employees’ perceptions of job satisfaction are influenced by factors such as job stress, leadership capability, work-life balance, and demographics. 426 workers in the logistics sector in Vietnam were surveyed online. The acquired data was analyzed using a structural equation model. In total 16 hypotheses were established, 13 of which were deemed to be significant. The results demonstrate how the literature-informed second-order constructs can potentially explain the overall job stress, leadership capability, and work-life balance of employees in the Vietnamese logistics industry. These variables account for 54.8% of job satisfaction. This study makes a theoretical contribution to the extant literature by showing how researching second-order constructs can improve the theory’s capacity to predict employees’ job satisfaction. The paper concludes with a set of recommendations for the management of logistics firms in Vietnam.

The purpose of the study is to determine how organizational culture affects employees' organizational commitment in Vietnamese clothing enterprises. Quantitative research through a questionnaire survey was applied in this research. A Survey of employees of Vietnamese garment companies in Hanoi was conducted from May 2021 to August 2021. The questionnaire was built from reference to previous studies and transferred to Google form. 315 returned questionnaires were usable. The statistical software SPSS 20.0 was used to test the reliability of the scale (Cronbach alpha), exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and regression analysis. The Organizational culture is constructed by 8 components including Organizational Communication, Training and development, Reward and Recognition, Teamwork orientation, Decision-making, Innovation and risk-taking, Direction and future planning, and Leader behavior. Organizational commitment is constructed by 3 components such as affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. Findings show that organizational culture has a strong impact on organizational commitment in Vietnamese garment companies. Research provides recommendations on developing a good organizational culture through forming suitable leadership, effective organizational communication, training and development, reward and recognition, and a clear direction and future planning to enhance employee commitment to the organization and increase the garment company's performance in the future.
Development of a New 6-DOF Parallel-kinematic Motion Simulator (ICCAS 2008)

This paper presents the development of a new 6-DOF parallel-kinematic motion simulator. The moving platform is connected to the base by six PUS (Prismatic-Universal-Spherical) serial chains. Comparing with the well-known Stewart-Gough platform-type motion simulator, it uses commercialized linear actuators mounted on the fixed base whereas a 6-UPS manipulator uses telescopic linear ones. Therefore, the proposed motion simulator has the advantages of lower inertia and easier fabrication over a 6-UPS counterpart. The inverse position, Jacobian and workspace analyses are performed. Using inclined arrangement of universal joints, the workspace is greatly increased. The prototype motion simulator and real-time controller using xPC have been developed. Basic six-axis motion test with the ride of single operator has been sucessfully performed.

<P>Cadmium exposure has been linked to human cancers, including stomach cancer. In this study, the effects of cadmium on urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) expression in human gastric cancer cells and the underlying signal transduction pathways were investigated. Cadmium induced uPAR expression in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. Cadmium also induced uPAR promoter activity. Additionally, cadmium induced the activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase-1/2 (ERK-1/2), p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), and the activation of c-Jun amino terminal kinase (JNK). A specific inhibitor of MEK-1 (PD98059) inhibited cadmium-induced uPAR expression, while JNK and p38 MAPK inhibitors did not. Expression vectors encoding dominant-negative MEK-1 (pMCL-K97M) also prevented cadmium-induced uPAR promoter activity. Site-directed mutagenesis and electrophoretic mobility shift studies showed that sites for the transcription factors nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B and activator protein-1 (AP-1) were involved in cadmium-induced uPAR transcription. Suppression of the cadmium-induced uPAR promoter activity by a mutated-type NF-kappa B-indncing kinase and I-kappa B and an AP-1 decoy oligonucleotide confirmed that the activation of NF-kappa B and AP-1 are essential for cadmium-induced uPAR upregulation. Cells pretreated with cadmium showed markedly enhanced invasiveness and this effect was partially abrogated by uPAR-neutralizing antibodies and by inhibitors of ERK-1/2, NF-kappa B, and AP-1. These results suggest that cadmium induces uPAR expression via ERK-1/2, NF-kappa B, and AP-1 signaling pathways and, in turn, stimulates cell invasiveness in human gastric cancer AGS cells.</P>

본 연구에서 아카시아꽃잎을 기질로 미백효과와 항산화효과가 우수한 천연물질을 생산하는 플라스크 발효법을 개발하였다. 아카시아꽃잎 추출액은 tyrosinase 활성을 저해하지 않은 반면, 2년 전통발효액과 2년 전통발효액을 접종한 아카시아꽃잎 플라스크 발효액은 tyrosinase 활성을 저해하였다. 아카시아꽃잎 플라스크 발효농축액 10% 포함된 용액의 tyrosinase 활성 저해율은 40%였고 농축액 함량이 증가할수록 저해율도 증가하였다. 양성대조군인 알부틴(20 mg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>)과 코직산(80 μg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>)의 tyrosinase 활성 저해율은 각각 90%와 58%였다. 이는 플라스크 발효농축액 40%가 포함된 용액의 미백성능이 코직산(80 μg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>)의 성능과 비슷함을 보여준다. 농축액이 20% 포함된 용액의 항산화활성은 56%였고 농도가 증가할수록 용액의 항산화활성도 점차 증가하여 농축액이 60% 포함된 용액의 항산화활성은 98%였다. 이는 항산화효과가 우수한 비타민 C수용액(10 mg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>)과 동일한 항산화능력이다. 모든 농도의 발효농축용액에서 95% 이상의 세포생존율을 나타내어 발효액은 독성이 없는 것으로 판명되었다. 실온에 보관된 아카시아꽃잎 발효상등액은 pH와 당도 변화가 없었고 분리, 변색, 및 변취 등의 관능적 성상의 변화가 없는 안정한 상태를 유지하였다. 본 결과는 아카시아꽃잎 플라스크 발효액이 안전하고 미백 및 항산화효과가 뛰어나 미백화장품 원료로 사용가능함을 보여준다. 이는 본 연구를 통하여 아카시아꽃잎 발효기간을 획기적으로 단축시킨 배양방법이 개발되었음을 시사한다. This paper describes a shake-flask fermentation of Acacia flower producing whitening- and antioxidant- agents. Tyrosinase activity was inhibited in the presence of traditional and flask-fermentation broths whereas no inhibitory effect of flower extract was observed. Tyrosinase inhibition was 40% in the presence of solution containing 10% of extract from fermentation broth and it increased by increase in the concentration of it. Arbutin (20 mg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>) and kojic acid (80 μg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>) gave 90% and 58% inhibition, respectively. The result indicates that whitening activity of 40% extract solution was comparable to that of kojic acid (80 μg mL<SUP>-1</SUP>). The comparable antioxidant activity was observed for 60% extract and 10-mg mL<SUP>-1</SUP> vitamin solution. No noticeable toxicity was observed with extract. The physicochemical stability of fermentation supernatant was observed at room temperature storage condition. The result clearly shows that shake-flask fermentation of Acacia flower produced whitening agent for functional cosmetics.
