The water level and flow rate data measured at Indogyo measurement point which serves as one of the major measuring points of Han River have been very important in aspect of controlling the flow. Because these data are becoming more and more unreliable due to the recent change in the basin or the narrowing of the river width, these data will be standardized by comparing the recent data of Indogyo measuring point with the past those. To minimize the errors of water level-flow rate curve caused by the yearly changes of basin, the standard water level-flow rate curve with respect to the present basin conditions will be set, and calculated reduced water level will be compared with the past data. And through frequency analysis, frequency-based flood level with respect to return period will be presented. Finally, the total flow rate of the flood measured in September, 1990 at the point of Indogyo measuring point will be compared with the total flow of the past extreme floods.

A newly recorded species Orchomenella pinguis (Boeck, 1861) belonging to the family Tryphosidae Lowry and Stoddart, 1997 has been collected from the east sea of Korea. The species is similar to O. minuta (Krøyer, 1846) and O. pinguides Walker, 1903 but, distinguishable with the following characteristics: gnathopod 1, propodus slightly narrowing distally; gnathopod 1, carpus with narrowly developed posterior lobe; gnathopod 2, carpus conspicuously swollen posteriorly; coxae 5-6, posterodistal lobes strongly produced; epimera 2-3, irregularly serrated posteriorly. The species is described and fully illustrated in this study. A key to the Korean species of Orchomenella is also provided.
A New Record of the Genus Anonyx (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Uristidae) from Korean Waters

A newly recorded species of lysianassid amphipod, Anonyx schefferi Steele, 1986 which belongs to the family Uristidae Hurley, 1963 was collected from the East Sea of Korea. The genus Anonyx Krøyer, 1838 was subdivided into five groups mainly based on the amount of constriction of the inner ramus of uropod 2: A. bispinosus group, A. compactus group, A. laticoxae group, A. nugax group, A. validus group. Anonyx schefferi is included in one of the A. laticoxae group. This species is similar to Anonyx laticoxae Gurjanova, 1962, but A. schefferi is characterized by an unconstricted inner ramus of uropod 2 and an upturned epimeron 3 posteroventrally. The species is described and fully illustrated in the present study.

The species Socarnes bidenticulatus japonicus Gurjanova, 1962 belonging to the family Lysianassidae Dana, 1849 has been collected from Namae, on the east coast of Korea. The genus Socarnes Boeck, 1871 has 12 species worldwide. However, only one Socarnes species had been reported in Korea until now: S. tongyeongensis Kim & Hendrycks, 2013. This genus is characterized by a longer article 2 of mandibular palp, unconstructed inner ramus of uropod 2, biarticulated outer ramus of uropod 3, and deeply cleft telson. A newly recorded species S. bidenticulatus japonicus is characterized by a posteriorly bidentated epimeron 3 and constricted inner ramus of uropod 2. The species is described and fully illustrated in this study.

The augmenting hydrologic data using a correlation procedure has been used to improve the estimates of the mean and variance at the site of interest with short record when one or more near by sites with longer records are available. The variance of the unbiased maximum likelihood estimator of $ derived by Moran based on the multivariate normal distribytion is modified into the form of Matalas and Jacobs for the biveriate normal distribution to get the critical minimum values of the multiple correlation coefficient which give the improvement for estimating the variance at the site of interest. Those values are tabulated for various lengths of short records and the number of sites.

A newly recorded species Caprella mutica Schurin, 1935 belonging to the family Caprellidae Leach, 1814 was collected from the East Sea, Korea. Caprella mutica is native to the north-east Asia but is a well-known cosmopolitan and invasive species in many areas. This species is morphologically highly similar to C. acanthogaster Mayer, 1890. However, it is distinguished from a combination of the characteristics of the head, pereonites 1-2, and gnathopod 2. In this study, the Korean C. mutica is fully illustrated based on the mature specimens and compared to C. acanthogaster.
CAUTION OF REGIONAL FLOOD FREQUENCY ANALYSIS BASED ON WEIBULL MODEL

Regional flood frequency analysis has been developed by employing the nearby site's information to improve a precision in estimating flood quantiles at the site of interest. In this paper, single site and regional flood frequency analyses were compared based of the 2-parameter Weibull model. For regional analysis, two approaches were employed. The First one is to use the asymptotic variances of the quantile estimators derived based of the assumption that all sites including the site of interest are independent each other. This approach may give the maximum regional gain due to the spatial independence assumption among sites. The second one in Hosking's regional L-moment algorithm. These methods were applied to annual flood data. As the results, both methods generally showed the regional gain at the site of interest depending on grouping the sites as homogeneous. And asymptotic formula generally shows smaller variance than those from Hosking's algorithm. If the shape parameter of the site of interest from single site analysis is quite different from that from regional analysis then Hosking's results might be better than the asymptotic ones because the formula was derived based on the assumption that all sites have the same regional shape parameter. Furthermore, in such a case, regional analysis might be worse than single site analysis in the sense of precision of flood quantile estimation. Even though the selected sites may satisfy Hosking's criteria, regional analysis may not give a regional gain for specific and nonexceedance probabilities.

Protogeton incertus Mayer, 1903 belonging to the family Caprellidae was collected from the South Sea, Korea. This species is very similar to Protogeton inflatus Mayer, but it is only distinguishable by the presence of biarticulate mandibular palp. Previous studies provided a very brief description of the species and lacked detailed illustration. In this study, the Korean Protogeton incertus is fully illustrated based on the mature and immature specimens.
