ITERATIVE ALGORITHM FOR RANDOM GENERALIZED NONLINEAR MIXED VARIATIONAL INCLUSIONS WITH RANDOM FUZZY MAPPINGS

Faizan Ahmad Khan,Eid Musallam Aljohani,Javid Ali 경남대학교 수학교육과 2022 Nonlinear Functional Analysis and Applications Vol.27 No.4

In this paper, we consider a class of random generalized nonlinear mixed variational inclusions with random fuzzy mappings and random relaxed cocoercive mappings inreal Hilbert spaces. We suggest and analyze an iterative algorithm for finding the approximate solution of this class of inclusions. Further, we discuss the convergence analysis ofthe iterative algorithm under some appropriate conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of some known results in the literature.

Sequence Analysis of Hypothetical Proteins from Helicobacter pylori 26695 to Identify Potential Virulence Factors

        Ahmad Abu Turab Naqvi,Farah Anjum,Faez Iqbal Khan,Asimul Islam,Faizan Ahmad,Md. Imtaiyaz Hassan 한국유전체학회 2016 Genomics & informatics Vol.14 No.3

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative bacteria that is responsible for gastritis in human. Its spiral flagellated body helps in locomotion and colonization in the host environment. It is capable of living in the highly acidic environment of the stomach with the help of acid adaptive genes. The genome of H. pylori 26695 strain contains 1,555 coding genes that encode 1,445 proteins. Out of these, 340 proteins are characterized as hypothetical proteins (HP). This study involves extensive analysis of the HPs using an established pipeline which comprises various bioinformatics tools and databases to find out probable functions of the HPs and identification of virulence factors. After extensive analysis of all the 340 HPs, we found that 104 HPs are showing characteristic similarities with the proteins with known functions. Thus, on the basis of such similarities, we assigned probable functions to 104 HPs with high confidence and precision. All the predicted HPs contain representative members of diverse functional classes of proteins such as enzymes, transporters, binding proteins, regulatory proteins, proteins involved in cellular processes and other proteins with miscellaneous functions. Therefore, we classified 104 HPs into aforementioned functional groups. During the virulence factors analysis of the HPs, we found 11 HPs are showing significant virulence. The identification of virulence proteins with the help their predicted functions may pave the way for drug target estimation and development of effective drug to counter the activity of that protein.

      • Hollow fiber membrane model for gas separation: Process simulation, experimental validation and module characteristics study

Ahmad, Faizan,Lau, K.K.,Lock, S.S.M.,Rafiq, Sikander,Khan, Asad Ullah,Lee, Moonyong Elsevier 2015 Journal of industrial and engineering chemistry Vol.21 No.-

Abstract

Conceptual process simulations and optimization are essential in the design, operation and troubleshooting stages of a membrane-based gas separation system. Despite this, there are few mathematical models/tools associated with a hollow fiber membrane module available in a commercial process simulator. A mathematical model dealing with the hollow fiber module characteristics that can be included within a commercial process simulator is needed to examine the performance and economics of a gas separation system. In this study, a hollow fiber membrane model was incorporated in Aspen HYSYS as a user defined unit operation for the study of carbon dioxide separation from methane. The hollow fiber membrane model was validated experimentally. The study of a double stage membrane module with a permeate recycle, which was proposed to be the optimal configuration in previous studies, was extended to consider the effects of the module characteristics (such as the fiber length, radius of the fiber bundle, diameter of the fibers, and porosity) on the process performance and economics. The gas processing cost (GPC) increased with increasing fiber length and bundle radius, and decreased with increasing outer diameter of the fibers and porosity. At the same time, the separation efficiency (product quality) was also dependent on these module parameters. Therefore, the tradeoff for the hollow fiber membrane module characteristics needs to be determined based on the minimum GPC with respect to the desired product purity.

Linkages between market orientation and brand performance with positioning strategies of significant fashion apparels in Pakistan

        Rana Faizan Gul,Dunnan Liu,Khalid Jamil,Sajjad Ahmad Baig,Fazal Hussain Awan,Mingguang Liu 한국의류학회 2021 Fashion and Textiles Vol.8 No.1

The study explores the importance of market orientation strategy to enhance brand performance and the mediating role of positioning strategies. The researcher used questionnaires to collect data from the managers of middle and high fashion apparel manufacturing firms based on the quantitative research approach. The data was collected from 220 managers who were directly involved in the decision-making process. The analysis has revealed a significant impact of market orientation strategy on Pakistan’s fashion brands’ performance, with the mediating effect of positioning strategies. The management of firms must give considerable importance to market orientation strategies to enhance overall brand performance. The market orientation strategies’ development is also helpful in building different positioning strategies through which performance gets enhanced. This study contributes valuable literature because it focuses on the fashion apparel industry’s context, which is almost most important for everyone in the present era. Firms can focus on tight product quality control, innovative manufacturing processes, trained and experienced personnel, and extensive customer service.

Sensitivity analysis for system of parametric generalized quasi-variational inclusions involving R-accretive mappings

        Kaleem Raza Kazmi,Faizan Ahmad Khan,Naeem Ahmad 대한수학회 2009 대한수학회지 Vol.46 No.6

In this paper, using proximal-point mappings technique of R-accretive mappings and the property of the fixed point set of set-valued contractive mappings, we study the behavior and sensitivity analysis of the solution set of the system of parametric generalized quasi-variational inclusions involving R-accretive mappings in real uniformly smooth Banach space. Further under suitable conditions, we discuss the Lipschitz continuity of the solution set with respect to parameters. The technique and results presented in this paper can be viewed as extension of the techniques and corresponding results given in [3, 23, 24, 32, 33, 34].

TWO STEP ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING REGULARIZED GENERALIZED MIXED VARIATIONAL INEQUALITY PROBLEM

        Kaleem Raza Kazmi,Faizan Ahmad Khan,Mohammad Shahza 대한수학회 2010 대한수학회보 Vol.47 No.4

In this paper, we consider a new class of regularized (nonconvex)generalized mixed variational inequality problems in real Hilbert space. We give the concepts of partially relaxed strongly mixed monotone and partially relaxed strongly Θ-pseudomonotone mappings, which are extension of the concepts given by Xia and Ding [19], Noor [13] and Kazmi et al. [9]. Further we use the auxiliary principle technique to suggest a two-step iterative algorithm for solving regularized (nonconvex)generalized mixed variational inequality problem. We prove that the convergence of the iterative algorithm requires only the continuity, partially relaxed strongly mixed monotonicity and partially relaxed strongly Θ-pseudomonotonicity. The theorems presented in this paper represent improvement and generalization of the previously known results for solving equilibrium problems and variational inequality problems involving the nonconvex (convex) sets, see for example Noor [13], Pang et al. [14],and Xia and Ding [19].

      • A hybrid reactive distillation process with high selectivity pervaporation for butyl acetate production via transesterification

Harvianto, Gregorius Rionugroho,Ahmad, Faizan,Lee, Moonyong Elsevier 2017 Journal of membrane science Vol.543 No.-

Abstract

A hybrid reactive distillation system with high selectivity pervaporation was examined to produce butyl acetate and methanol via transesterification of methyl acetate with butanol. High selectivity pervaporation was combined with reactive distillation to eliminate a hitherto required column for the separation of a methanol and methyl acetate azeotrope. The polyamide-6 membrane was used for this purpose because of its high selectivity for methanol while also allowing sufficient permeate flux. The high purity methyl acetate recovered in the retentate stream leads to high conversion in the reactive distillation column, which enhances the energy savings (up to 71%) of this process. The feasibility of the proposed hybrid processes and several alternative designs were evaluated by rigorous simulation and optimization using the Aspen Plus software package. The effects of several designs and operating variables were also investigated for the proposed design. The high potential of the hybrid reactive distillation and pervaporation system for butyl acetate production is very promising; it may not only reduce the total annual costs relative to conventional systems but may also provide an attractive strategy to address problems associated with methanol and methyl acetate azeotropes in the effluent generated in the polyvinyl alcohol industry.

Highlights

Hybrid reactive distillation with pervaporation is studied for butyl acetate production.

High selectivity pervaporation is proposed for the hybrid system.

Elimination of a column required to separate the MeOH-MeAc azeotrope is achieved.

The sequential optimization approach is applied to find the optimum design.

High total annual cost saving (60%) is observed from the proposed optimum design.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]
