      • Fault Tolerant Control Using Self-Diagnostic Smart Actuator

        In this paper, a networked fault tolerant control strategy that utilizes a self-diagnostic smart actuator is presented with an application to “"steer-by-wire”" (SBW) which is a network based steering system for intelligent cars. Networked control systems (NCS) like SBW have various advantages, such as easy maintenance, low cost implementation and reconfiguration ability. In NCS, it is possible to achieve bi-directional communications using intelligent subsystems called “"smart actuators.”" Using a built-in processing unit and bi-directional communication, a smart actuator can offer the capability of self-diagnosis and self-compensation resulting in a high level of dependability. This paper highlights the usefulness of such smart actuators from the point of view of enhancing the ability of tolerating actuator faults without any redundant actuators. The proposed approach is mainly relying on an actuator performance index, called effectiveness factor, which can be obtained through self-diagnosis performed by the built-in actuator processor. Simulation results with a SBW system show that the proposed smart actuator-based control system provides fast and accurate control strategy to tolerate faults.

        국가생명윤리심의위원회에 대한 운영평가와 향후 정책제언

        생명과학기술과 관련된 안전과 윤리 이슈는 여러사회집단간의 의견차이가 심하고 갈등이 분명하게 드러나는 민감한 사안의 성격을 가지고 있다. 급속히 빨라지는 생명과학의 속도에 비해서 이에 따른 안전과 윤리에 대한 대응은 집단별로 각기 차이가 있으며, 이러한 문제에 대한 의견 차이는 제대로 된 공론화의 과정을 거치기보다는 자칫하면 소모적인 논쟁과 갈등으로 비화 될 우려가 크다. 이러한 생명과학연구와 관련된 정책의 민감성으로 인해 큰 틀에서의 조정과 합의를 이루어가는 절차를 요구될 수밖에 없으며, 국가생명 윤리심의위원회가 조정기구로서의 역할을 담당해야만 하는 의미가 바로 여기에 있다. 우리나라의 국가생명윤리심의위원회의 성격은 심의 업무를 행하지만 대통령 직속 자문위원회의 성격을 가지고 있다. 조정기구로서의 독립성을 유지하기 위해 생명과학 연구에 의해서 야기될 수 있는 사회적 · 윤리적 논란에 대해서 다양한입장과 시각을 반영하기 위해서 학제 간접근과 다양한 집단이나 단체의 참여가 필요하다. 또한 첨단 생명과학연구는 인간의 생명보호와 직결되고 인간의 존엄과 가치라는 헌법적 가치보호와 관련성을 가지고 있기 때문에 신중한 승인여부를 결정하는 심사기구가 필요하며, 허가되어 연구가 가능하더라도 엄격한 절차의 적법성을 준수할 것을 요구한다. 이에 대한 절 차요건을 명시하고 사후 관리와 점검체계를 규범 내지 각종 지침으로 제시해 주는 기구로서의 기능을 해야 할 필요가 있다. 그리고 무엇보다 윤리위원회 는 위원회 구성, 절차 및 의사결정에 있어서 정치적 · 제도적 영향과 관련 산 업계의 영향으로부터 독립성을 유지하여야 하며, 생명윤리에 대한 정책결정자 및 일반대중에 대한 교육, 훈련 및 정보제공과 함께 누구든지 참여가 가능한 공개된 대중토론의 장을 마련하는 것도 위원회가 해야 할 역할인 것이다. There is no question that biotechnological developments have been, and can be, of great benefit to humankind in increasing life expectancy and improving the quality of life. And we convinced that moral sensibility and ethical reflection should be an integral part of the process of scientific and technological developments and bioethics should play a predominant role in the choices that need to be made concerning issues arising from such developments. In Korea, there is a National Bioethics Committee, responsible to the President, whose function it is to review policies concerning national bioethics and biosafety in the life sciences and biotechnologies. The Committee will be composed of between 16 and 21 persons, including one Chairperson and one Vice-Chairperson. Membership in the Committee shall be as follows. 1.The following ministers will all be members of the Committee: the Minister of Education and Human Resources Development, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Science and Technology, the Minister of Commerce, the Minister of Industry and Energy, the Minister of Health and Welfare, the Minister of Gender Equality, and the Minister of Government Legislation. 2.The president will appoint not more than seven representatives of the academic, scientific, and industrial spheres, each of whom have professional knowledge and experience in the fields of life science or medical science. 3.The president will appoint not more than seven representatives of the fields of religion, philosophy, ethics, social science, law, NGO groups, or gender equality. During three years there are several points in the management of the Committee. Above all, the Committee shall be prominent representatives of the scientific, medical, theological, philosophical, social, legal, ecological and economic worlds. The members of the Committee's members shall belong not to the government with the exception of the Minister of Education and Science and Technology and the Minister of Health and Welfare and Family. And the Committee shall be established as a national forum for dialogue on ethical issues in the life sciences. The Committee shall be the central organ for interdisciplinary discourse between the natural sciences, medicine, theology and philosophy, and the social and legal sciences. It shall organize the social and political debate and ensure that all the relevant groups are involved. It shall provide citizens with information and material for discussion (e.g. exhibitions, publications, Internet forums, etc.). The Committee shall express views on ethical issues relating to new developments in the field of the life sciences and on their consequences for the individual and society. The Committee shall submit recommendations for political and legislative action. The Committee shall work together with the national ethics committees and comparable institutions of other States.

        풍수지리와 바람재난의 피해사례 비교분석에 관한 연구

        風水地理의 발생배경은 원시사회에서의 열악한 자연환경속에 부족의 생존과 보존을 위한 취길피흉(取吉避凶)의 관념으로부터 풍수가 발생되었다고 생각할 수 있다. 지금까지의 풍수지리는 주로 이기풍수론과 형기풍수론의 두 분류에 의해 발전해 왔는데, 기 자체가 무형으로 실체적 형상을 파악할 수 없고, 특히 제1 주체인 땅(지기)은 자연적인 것으로 인간이 마 음대로 조절 할 수 있는 것이 아니며, 반면에 인위적인 형상(家相)에 의해 천기를 잘 받아 지기의 공명현상을 얻고자 하는 것이 현대의 풍수지리의 방향이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 풍수지리의 사격(砂格)과 가상학(家相學)에 따른 건물에 대한 바람의 영향을 무형의 상상으로만 평가해 오고 있는 지금까지의 방법과 달리 풍공학 및 공역학이론, 바람재난 피해 사례를 비 교 검토한 결과 보국명당과 가상학의 주장은 바람의 불규칙성 때문에 바람재난의 관점에서 상관관계가 매우 높다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. Based on the wind engineering, for the first time, a effects of wind in the Poongsoojiri is developed. The fluctuating wind velocity is assumed as time-dependent random process described by the time-independent random process with deterministic function during a short duration of time. The wind properties are represented by separation, turbulence, eddies, wind profiles, turbulence intensity and surface roughness. In this papers, there were compared the effects of wind engineering with the concepts of Poongsoojiri.

      • 하이브리드 로켓의 추력제어 기법에 대한 기초연구

        추진시스템의 추력제어를 목적으로 50 N급 PE(폴리에틸렌)-GOx(기체산소) 하이브리드 로켓을 제작하고, 기체산소의 질유량을 변화시켰다. 기초실험 결과, 기체산소의 질유량 제어를 통한 하이브리드 로켓의 추력제어 가능성을 확인하였다. In order to control thrust of propulsion system, we built the 50 Newton level PE-GOx hybrid rocket, and changed the mass flow rate of GOx. From the preliminary experiential results, we could see possibility of controlling thrust of hybrid rockets by controlling mass flow rate of GOx.

        In this study, research the mechanism how machinability decrease on the brake disc surface along the state of skin layer microstructure. Representatively, It has been caused by free-ferrite rim and a few kind of carbide and oxide what existing about 0.3㎜ maximum from the surface. Free-Ferrite bring worse machining condition by making lower hardness and toughness increasing on the near surface, and also creating the diffusion wear in case of cutting with CBN bite. Furthermore, Oxide and carbide precipitate make harmful chipping on the both tool and work pieces. As a result, tool life has rapidly decreased based on these of complex reasons. Point of this study is finding out the correlationship between cutting force and abrasion characteristic when is given difference microstructure on skin layer by every 0.1㎜ depth from near surface.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, self-bridged ZnO nanowires were grown by a simple annealing process and their humidity sensing properties were investigated. The wurzite structure and high crystallinity of the ZnO nanowires were confirmed by XRD and PL analyses. The humidity sensing characteristics varied exponentially with increasing humidity. A conventional sensor device should have good repeatability and superior humidity sensing response. The experimentally obtained response and recovery times of the ZnO nanowires were 35.3 and 32.6 s, respectively.         Fully Self-Powered Electrospray System via Triboelectric High Voltage Generator and Its Use to Control Wettability of Various Surfaces

        Electrospray ionization (ESI) process, which is one of the most widely utilized techniques to produce micro/nanoscale and uniform particles, has become an important tool in various fields owing to its advantages. However, the electrospray process has been considered to have a low degree of freedom for portability because this process conventionally requires an external power supply to high-voltage generation, which is bulky and heavy hardware. To improve the versatility and applicable area of the electrospray process, the stationary power supply with required external wiring, should be replaced in the self-powered high voltage generator. Herein, we report a fully self-powered portable electrospray system (SPES) with the high-voltage generator based on the triboelectric generator (TEG) equipped with the voltage multiplier circuit (VMC), which does not require any fixed external equipment, thereby enabling the facile spraying of droplets without spatio-temporal limitation. TEG generates an alternating voltage of up to 1.5 kV that does not suitable form to perform the electrospray process. Thus, VMC is used to boost voltage and rectify alternating voltage into direct voltage, which is suitable for the process. The integration of both the TEG and the VMC can generate several kilovolts (i.e., 6.0–8.0 kV), which is sufficiently high for this process, by harvesting biomechanical energy. Moreover, the adoption of the ring-shaped electrode in SPES enables us to conduct the electrospray process regardless of the type of substrate. As a proof-of-concept demonstration, SPES has a great versatility not only to control wettability on any substrates but also to coat the micro/nanoscale particles on the surface of the materials in applications that required portability without external power sources, such as agriculture and air sterilization technology.

      • 6자유도 초음속 비행체의 성능제어 모델에 관한 개념연구

        본 논문에서는 대 탄도탄 방어를 위한 외기 직격비행체용 추진기관의 성능을 matlab 코드를 활용하여 가상적으로 예측하였고 Matlab/Simulink를 적용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션에 적용된 시스템 변수의 모델링으로 추진기관의 추진모델, 추력기 크기 결정방법 및 6 자유도 계의 비행역학 모델에 대하여 언급하였다. 연구결과로 개발된 시뮬레이션 도구의 실행결과, 직격비행체용 추진기관의 궤도수정 및 자세제어가 제어된 내부 압력 하에 가능함을 알 수 있었다. In this paper, the performance of solid rocket motor for an air defense system was virtually predicted by Matlab code and simulation was performed with Matlab/Simulink environment. After system modelling, the technique of propulsion model, thrusts sizing method, 6-DOF flight dynamics model are presented and integrated in the Simulink environment. In the sample run of this program, divert and attitude thrusts under the controlled internal pressure were satisfactorily controlled.
