This study summarizes the recent cutting-edge approaches for dentin regeneration that still do not offer adequate solutions. Tertiary dentin is formed when odontoblasts are directly affected by various stimuli. Recent preclinical studies have reported that stimulation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway could facilitate the formation of reparative dentin and thereby aid in the structural and functional development of the tertiary dentin. A range of signaling pathways, including the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, is activated when dental tissues are damaged and the pulp is exposed. The application of small molecules for dentin regeneration has been suggested as a drug repositioning approach. This study reviews the role of Wnt signaling in tooth formation, particularly dentin formation and dentin regeneration. In addition, the application of the drug repositioning strategy to facilitate the development of new drugs for dentin regeneration has been discussed in this study.

The purpose of this study is to identify how to improve the quality of department store`s sales associates for customer loyalty. This study examines the importance of sales associates`` education, skills, and customer service towards customer loyalty. The questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data from 220 clothing sales associates working in department stores. This survey was paper- based. The participants were asked about the questionnaires; sales associates`` education, sales associates`` ability, customerservice, and customer loyalty. General demographic characteristic of participants in the study are as follows; females (72.27%) participated the survey more than males (27.73%). With the age ranging from early 20s to over 40s, most people who took the survey ranged from early 30``s to mid 30``s with 33.64%. The result indicated that sales associates` education, and customer service skills were significantly corelated to each other. Salesassociates`` education had no co relation to customer loyalty. In applying the research findings, department stores can design their training contents to offer better training quality. Education of sales associates can be focused by providing various training contents, exercise, effective options, along with the opportunity to improve the qualities of training.
Understanding Gender and Transgender
Dani Sia Choi,Bo Ra Park,Eun Sil Lee 순천향대학교 순천향의학연구소 2018 Journal of Soonchunhyang Medical Science Vol.24 No.2
In the binary of gender, women and femininity came to be associated with motherhood, nurturing, and beauty whilst men and masculinity were associated with productivity, protection, and strength. No longer are we to systematically categorize an individual’s gender in terms of polar opposite of femininity and masculinity, but instead we must acknowledge all that resides in between those two poles and allow for identity terms that best express their sense of self. The term ‘transgender has become an umbrella term for a broader and more encompassing array of gender narratives outside of the binary norm of gender. Gender dysphoria is managed and treatable through psychotherapy and through the social and medical transition of gender. The support of transgender individuals’ preferred gender through social acknowledgment, gender expression, hormone therapy, and surgery has been proven to alleviate symptoms of gender dysphoria in transgender people, enabling them to incorporate back into society.
Stochastic alternative splicing is prevalent in mungbean ( <i>Vigna radiata</i> )

<P><B>Summary</B></P><P>Alternative splicing (AS) can produce multiple mature mRNAs from the same primary transcript, thereby generating diverse proteins and phenotypes from the same gene. To assess the prevalence of AS in mungbean (<I>Vigna radiata)</I>, we analysed whole‐genome RNA sequencing data from root, leaf, flower and pod tissues and found that at least 37.9% of mungbean genes are subjected to AS. The number of AS transcripts exhibited a strong correlation with exon number and thus resembled a uniform probabilistic event rather than a specific regulatory function. The proportion of frameshift splicing was close to the expected frequency of random splicing. However, alternative donor and acceptor AS events tended to occur at multiples of three nucleotides (i.e. the codon length) from the main splice site. Genes with high exon number and expression level, which should have the most AS if splicing is purely stochastic, exhibited less AS, implying the existence of negative selection against excessive random AS. Functional AS is probably rare: a large proportion of AS isoforms exist at very low copy per cell on average or are expressed at much lower levels than default transcripts. Conserved AS was only detected in 629 genes (2.8% of all genes in the genome) when compared to <I>Vigna angularis</I>, and in 16 genes in more distant species like soya bean. These observations highlight the challenges of finding and cataloguing candidates for experimentally proven AS isoforms in a crop genome.</P>

Kang, Yang Jae,Lee, Taeyoung,Lee, Jayern,Shim, Sangrea,Jeong, Haneul,Satyawan, Dani,Kim, Moon Young,Lee, Suk‐,Ha BLACKWELL 2016 PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY JOURNAL Vol.14 No.4
<P><B>Summary</B></P><P>The use of next‐generation sequencers and advanced genotyping technologies has propelled the field of plant genomics in model crops and plants and enhanced the discovery of hidden bridges between genotypes and phenotypes. The newly generated reference sequences of unstudied minor plants can be annotated by the knowledge of model plants via translational genomics approaches. Here, we reviewed the strategies of translational genomics and suggested perspectives on the current databases of genomic resources and the database structures of translated information on the new genome. As a draft picture of phenotypic annotation, translational genomics on newly sequenced plants will provide valuable assistance for breeders and researchers who are interested in genetic studies.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The effects of an aluminum high temperature conductive microporous coating (Al-HTCMC) on the nucleate boiling heat transfer (NBHT) coefficient and critical heat flux (CHF) are studied in saturated distilled water at 1 atm. Aluminum powders with three different mean particle diameters (dm = 11, 24, and 66 µm) are used in the fabrication of the Al-HTCMC. For each mean particle diameter, an optimal coating thickness to yield the highest NBHT coefficient is determined. The optimized Al-HTCMC thickness is found to result in comparable NBHT coefficients regardless of the particle diameter. Pool boiling tests with a plain aluminum surface are used for comparison. The coated and plain aluminum surfaces are treated equally before the pool boiling tests to establish a Boehmite oxidation nano layer on the aluminum surfaces. Following the Boehmite treatment, the contact angle is unmeasurable (∼0°) with the Al-HTCMC surface and 12° with a plain aluminum surface. Then, pool boiling tests are performed and reveal comparable CHF (1725–1850 kW/m2) values with or without the Al-HTCMC. However, the Al-HTCMC is shown experimentally to improve the NBHT coefficient by a factor of five as the wall superheat is reduced by from 31 K to 6 K just before CHF. The results obtained are also compared to similar work using an HTCMC layer on a copper surface to demonstrate the performance of the Al-HTCMC.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Study of the effects of an aluminum high temperature conductive microporous coating on pool boiling. </LI> <LI> Aluminum microporous coating (Al-HTCMC) fabricated using different aluminum powder particle sizes. </LI> <LI> Coating thickness optimized to yield highest nucleate boiling heat transfer coefficients. </LI> <LI> Boehmite treatment applied to aluminum surface with the microporous coating. </LI> </UL> </P>

<P><B>Summary</B></P><P><I>Jatropha curcas</I> (physic nut), a non‐edible oilseed crop, represents one of the most promising alternative energy sources due to its high seed oil content, rapid growth and adaptability to various environments. We report ~339 Mbp draft whole genome sequence of <I>J. curcas</I> var. Chai Nat using both the PacBio and Illumina sequencing platforms. We identified and categorized differentially expressed genes related to biosynthesis of lipid and toxic compound among four stages of seed development. Triacylglycerol (TAG), the major component of seed storage oil, is mainly synthesized by phospholipid:diacylglycerol acyltransferase in Jatropha, and continuous high expression of homologs of oleosin over seed development contributes to accumulation of high level of oil in kernels by preventing the breakdown of TAG. A physical cluster of genes for diterpenoid biosynthetic enzymes, including casbene synthases highly responsible for a toxic compound, phorbol ester, in seed cake, was syntenically highly conserved between Jatropha and castor bean. Transcriptomic analysis of female and male flowers revealed the up‐regulation of a dozen family of TFs in female flower. Additionally, we constructed a robust species tree enabling estimation of divergence times among nine <I>Jatropha</I> species and five commercial crops in Malpighiales order. Our results will help researchers and breeders increase energy efficiency of this important oil seed crop by improving yield and oil content, and eliminating toxic compound in seed cake for animal feed.</P>
