High precision machining technology has become one of the important parts in the development of a precision machine. Such a machine requires high speed on a large workspace as well as high precision positioning. For machining systems having a long stroke with ultra precision, a micro stage system with lever mechanism is proposed in this paper. The proposed micro stages are activated by the piezo-actuators with high precision, however, they have severe disadvantage for the travel range that the stroke is limited to a few microns. Because it is not easy to increase the stroke of piezo-actuator, it is very difficult to make an X-Y stage with only piezo-actuators. Therefore, in order to increase it, this paper proposes a lever mechanism for the piezo-actuator stage. In the experiments, we can confirm that the stroke is increased more than three times and it is possible to implement the micro X-Y stage using piezo-actuators.

The paper identifies a severe form of core saturation instability in an DC/AC interaction system It then seeks solutions to the problem by HVDC control means This is achieved by a proper design of the Voltage Dependent Current Order Limiter (VDCOL), the Current Regulator and Timing Pulse generator Supplementary control loops have also been introduced to result in a satisfactory performance as compared to that obtained one with the use of uncharacteristic harmonic filter on the AC side. Robustness of all the options has been demonstrated through recovery performance of the DC link in response to both 1-phase and 3-phase 5 cycle faults on both rectifier and inverter commutating buses.<br/>

In this paper a Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator fur both operator Training and Researching in the Cheju-Haenam HVDC System is proposed and its performance is studied by means of RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator), EMTDC (Electro-Magnetic Transients system for DC), PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering), and experienced scenarios. The objective of this paper is to represent the strategy in development for KEPCO's hybrid HVDC simulator for the Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. This simulator consists of two DC stations, DC cables, external digital/analog controllers, monitoring systems and control desk for education, and AC networks. Its suitability for operator's education is tested during startup/shutdown and normal state operations. Dynamic performances of it are also verified.

온달산성은 1989년 지표조사를 계기로 산성의 현황과 온달축성 설화 등이 알려지면서, 온달이 축성했을 가능성과 함께 고구려의 경영문제가 대두되었다. 그로인해 학계에서는 아단성의 위치비정에 있어서 온달산성에 대한 조선시대 후기에 창작된 축성설화와 주변 지역의 온달전승으로 인해 많은 오해를 불러일으켰다. 본고는 온달산성이 온달과 유관한 것인지 무관한 것인지에 대해서 최근의 고고학적 발굴조사 결과를 토대로 살펴보았다. 그리고 남한강 상류지역의 6세기경에 축조된 성곽의 축조방식과 주변 고분군 출토 유물 등을 함께 비교 검토하였다. 이를 통해 온달산성이 고구려 온달에 의해서 축성되었는지 여부와 온달이 전사한 곳일 가능성에 대해서 그간 고고학 조사결과를 바탕으로 축조시기 및 운영주체에 대해서 검토하였다. 그 결과 온달산성은 온달설화 즉, 고구려 온달이 축성했을 가능성과 온달이 전사했던 아단성 가능성은 현재로서는 매우 적다. 온달산성이 위치한 남한강 상류지역은 신라가 5세기 후반경에 죽령로와 동해안로를 통해 진출한 사실이 확인된다. 온달산성은 6세기 중반에 신라에 의해서 축조되었고, 삼국시대 이후 통일신라~나말여초에 이르는 3단계에 걸쳐 산성을 운영한 것으로 판단된다. The situation and tale of construction of Ondal Fortress(溫達山城) became well known due to earth surface investigations conducted in 1989. This brought about the new possibility that Ondal from Goguryeo constructed the fortress and that Goguryeo ran it. The story, written in the late Joseon Dynasty Period and transmitted to the surrounding areas, created numerous misunderstandings in the academic world in terms of locating Adan-Seong(阿旦城). Based on the recent archaeological investigation data, this paper examined whether the fortress is relevant to Ondal. In addition to this, it explored the building style of castles built in the upper region of the Namhan River in the 6th century, and the artifacts discovered in the surrounding tombs. Considering them, I studied to ascertain whether the fortress was built by Ondal. I also analyzed its construction time and operation agent in order to solve the problem if this is the very place of Ondal"s death. In conclusion, there is only a small chance that Goguryeo or Ondal constructed this castle and that this was the very Adan-seong(阿旦城) where Ondal died as explained in the tale. It is judged that Silla made the Ondal Fortress after the mid 6th century subsequent to entering into the upper region of the Namhang River through the Jungnyeong route(竹嶺路) and the east coastal route(東海岸路) in the late 5th century. It proceeded to run it since then. The fortress appears to have undergone three stages of operation since the Three Kingdoms Period, to the Unified Silla and the late Silla and early Goryeo Periods by and large.
