Wear behaviors of HVOF spray coating of Co-alloy T800
Cho, Tong-Yul,Yoon, Jae-Hong,Kim, Kil-Su,Park, Bong-Kyu,Youn, Suk-Jo,Back, Nam-Ki,Chun, Hui-Gon The Korea Association of Crystal Growth 2006 韓國結晶成長學會誌 Vol.16 No.3
HVOF thermal spray coating of Co-alloy T800 is progressively replacing the classical hard coatings such as chrome plating because of the very toxic $Cr^{6+}$ ion known as carcinogen causing lung cancer. For the study of the possibility of replacing of chrome plating, the wear properties of HVOF Co-alloy T800 coatings are investigated using the reciprocating sliding tester both at room and at an elevated temperature of $1000^{\circ}F\;(538^{\circ}C)$. The possibility as durability improvement coating is studied for the application to the high speed spindles vulnerable to frictional heat and wear. Wear mechanisms at the reciprocating sliding wear test are studied for the application to the systems similar to the sliding test such as high speed spindles. Wear debris and frictional coefficients of T800 coatings both at room and at an elevated temperature of $1000^{\circ}F\;(538^{\circ}C)$ are drastically reduced compared to those of non-coated surface of parent substrate Inconel 718. This study shows that the coating is recommendable for the durability improvement coatings on the surfaces vulnerable to frictional heat. The sliding surfaces are weared by the mixed mechanisms such as oxidative wear, abrasion by the sliding ball slurry erosion by the mixture of solid particles and small drops of the melts and semi-melts of the attrited particles cavitation by the relative motions among the coating, sliding ball, the melts and semi-melts. and corrosive wear. The oxide particles and the melts and semi-melts play roles as solid and liquid lubricant reducing the wear and friction coefficient.

Recently, the digital circuit technique has had great success and gained importance in all industries. For the measurment of degree of freshness of plant and animal's tissue, many devices has been developed. But it's data was inacurate and it had difficulty in making database because it was depend on analog circuit technique. The purpose of this paper is the developement of a device based on digital circuit for measurement of freshness degree of wet fish such that its accuracy is very trustworty and it can be measured in a short time. The device is developed by using micro-computer with some interface modules of A-D/D-A converter and digital circuit with IC modules and its effectiveness has been evaluated through two experimental results of electrical Q-value test and chemical K-value test.

Gamak Bay, Deukryang Bay, and Doam Bay were designated as Environmental preservation sea areas for conservation of fishery resources by the Korean government. It is essential to maintain the chemical status of these environments, particularly for heavy metals that pose potential risks to fishery resources. This study was, therefore, carried out to investigate the concentration distribution and potential risk of seven heavy metals, namely Cd, Cr, Cu, Zn, Pb, As, and Hg present in the surface sediments (n = 116) of these sea areas during March and August 2009. The metal concentrations in the sampling sites was found to be highly variable. The dominant metals were Zn (mean = 118.22 mg/kg) for Gamak Bay, Cr (mean = 19.07 mg/kg) for Dyukryang Bay, and Zn (mean = 39.07 mg/kg) for Doam Bay. Overall, the order of the target metals was Zn > Cr > Pb > Cu > As > Hg > Cd. Additionally, the metal concentrations were categorized as less than Igeo Class 2 `Moderately polluted`; except for As determined during March in Gamak Bay. As had concentrations that categorized it under Igeo Class 3 `Moderately/strongly polluted`.

Water is detrimental to the performance of organic light-emitting devices and organic solar cells. A novel weight gain test (WGT) was introduced and demonstrated to measure the low permeation of water vapor through a metallic barrier coating on a polymer substrate. By using the WGT, the values of solubility, diffusivity and permeability for a sample are obtained with a simple experimental setup and diffusion equation. The WGT method has potential for the measurement of water-vapor permeation properties for samples with good barrier properties and irregular shape.
