LOCAL CONVERGENCE OF THE GAUSS-NEWTON METHOD FOR INJECTIVE-OVERDETERMINED SYSTEMS
Amat, Sergio,Argyros, Ioannis Konstantinos,Magrenan, Angel Alberto Korean Mathematical Society 2014 대한수학회지 Vol.51 No.5
We present, under a weak majorant condition, a local convergence analysis for the Gauss-Newton method for injective-overdetermined systems of equations in a Hilbert space setting. Our results provide under the same information a larger radius of convergence and tighter error estimates on the distances involved than in earlier studies such us [10, 11, 13, 14, 18]. Special cases and numerical examples are also included in this study.
A Study of Feminism in Geni Jora
( Asmiaty Amat ) 한국외국어대학교 동남아연구소 2012 東南亞硏究 Vol.21 No.3
Abidah E1 Khaliqey initially gained fame as a poet in Indonesia. She gained recognition as a novelist when her first novel entitled Wanita Berkalung Sorban was published in 2001. Abidah Khaliqey came from a religious upbringing in Menture, Jombang, East Java Indonesia. E1 Khaliqey`s poems and short stories were published in co-written anthologies for example Sangkakale (1988), Kafilah Angin (1990), Negeri BayangBayang (1996) and her own anthology entitled Ibuku Laut Berkobar (1997). This study focus on Geni Jora and feminism theory. The tale of Geni Jora revolves around Kejora`s efforts to survive in a patriarchal world from childhood to adulthood. As a novel written by a female writer, it is only logical that Geni Jora portrays a female protagonist to personify the feminist ideals of women`s equality and contempt of patriarchy. The type of feminism found in this novel is ``Mitra Sejajar`` (equally). The equlity that E1 Khaliqey wants to bring forth is too bold and aggressive, so much so that Kejora Ioses her more commendable attributes, that of a woman who adheres to her religion. This shows that the feminism ideals held by Keiora has driven her to the depths of immorality and has carried her away from the path of a Muslim woman.

The aim of this research was to investigate the possible association between gastric carcinoma (GC) and polymorphisms of the IL-$1{\beta}$ gene in the Kashmiri population using peripheral blood DNA from 150 gastric carcinoma cases and 250 population controls with detailed data for clinicopathological characteristics of the disease. Two SNPs in the IL-$1{\beta}$ gene were selected for this study. Expression of IL-$1{\beta}$ was studied in 50 gastric carcinoma cases using immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR and then correlated with genotype. The frequency of the IL-$1{\beta}$-511 C allele was significantly higher in the GC case group (53.3%) than in controls (45.4%) with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.73 and a P value of 0.03. Multivariate regression analysis showed associations of gastric carcinoma with mutant form of IL-$1{\beta}$-511 TT (OR 0.309; P value <0.001) and the CC genotype of IL-$1{\beta}$-31 (OR 0.313; P value of 0.002). Haplotype analysis of IL-$1{\beta}$-31 and IL-$1{\beta}$-511 showed decreased association of IL-$1{\beta}$-31 T with IL-$1{\beta}$-511 C with gastric carcinoma (OR 0.728; P value 0.03). Expression study of 50 samples by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and RT-PCR showed association with grade III and stage III+IV. After correlating the expression with polymorphism no association was found.

An instrument which practitioners have acknowledged as an essential mechanism used in supporting greenhorn companies is the business incubation system. Several countries of the world have implemented the business incubation concept ever since it was conceived and developed in the United States in 1959. It is a model that has typically given itself much more readily within industrialized countries with identical environments to the United States. Nigeria also adapted it in 1993 where the resulting process and practice failed to live up to anticipations. To determine the significant role of government policy on the incubation dimensions and its success is the purpose of this research. Data collection process involved the surveying of stakeholders in Nigeria with some direct involvement in the national programme. The Partial Least Squares (PLS) was employed for the analysis. The findings showed that all exogenous variables collectively explained 52.4% of the variance in success. Meanwhile, when a moderation effect is present; the variable increased to 62.3%. Consequently, it is recommended that for a business incubation scheme to be successful and effective, government needs to implement efficient policies since results showed that these policies influenced all the relationships. The results’ implications as well as limitations of the study are discussed.

This quantitative study was conducted to examine the relationship between psychological capital, organizational support and subjective well-being of Special Education Teachers. A total of 196 Special Education Teachers were randomly selected from 40 secondary schools in the Central Region of Peninsular Malaysia. Psy Cap Inventory, Special Education Career Resilience Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale questionnaire method were used to collect the relevant data. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the Psy Cap Inventory is 0.85-0.90, Special Education Career Resilience Scale is between 0.75 - 0.94 and Life Satisfaction Scale is between 0.80-0.95. The findings showed that statistically significant positive relationship between psychological capitals, organizational support and subjective well-being. The multiple regression analysis indicates that psychological capital and organizational support contributed 33% (R square = 0.332) of the variance being accounted for in subjective well-being and this was found to be statically significant with organizational support and psychological capital are major predictor contributed significantly. Lower contribution of psychological capital and organizational support towords subjective well-being shows that there are also other factors that affect the subjective wellbeing of Special Education Teachers.

Reactivity of hydroxyl radicals with neonicotinoid insecticides: mechanism and changes in toxicity
Dell'Arciprete, Maria L.,Santos-Juanes, Lucas,Sanz, Antonio Arques,Vicente, Rafael,Amat, Ana M.,Furlong, Jorge P.,Martirea, Daniel O.,Gonzalez, Monica C. Korean Society of Photoscience 2009 Photochemical & photobiological sciences Vol.8 No.7
The reactivity of hydroxyl radicals ($HO^{\cdot}$) towards three neonicotonoid insecticides, namely imidacloprid, thiacloprid and acetamiprid was investigated. These radicals were generated by photolysis of $H_2O_2$ solutions. Flash photolysis experiments were used to determine the rate constants of $5.5{\times}10^{10}M^{-1}s{-1}$, $6{\times}10^{10}M^{-1}s^{-1}$, and $7.5{\times}10^{10}M^{-1}s^{-1}$, for the reactions of $HO^{\cdot}$ with acetamiprid, imidacloprid, and thiacloprid, respectively. Continuous irradiation experiments in the absence and presence of $H_2O_2$ allowed the identification and toxicity evaluation of the primary photo- and oxidation products of the insecticides. In all cases, the less toxic 6-chloronicotinic acid was found to be the major product at higher degrees of oxidation. The results reported here indicate that the half life of the insecticides due to their reaction with $HO^{\cdot}$ radicals in natural aquatic reservoirs may vary between 5 h and 19 days, and therefore the hydroxyl radical-mediated oxidation may be a significant abiotic elimination route. However, elimination of the insecticide under such conditions might not improve the quality of the contaminated water, as the primary products of degradation still show considerable toxicity to Vibrio fischeri assays.
