Systems Approach to Change Management for Sustainable Tourism Development in Bangladesh

Tourism has been considered as the largest industry in the world, which is contributing towards employment generation, wealth creation and pursuing social benefits. Growing concern about the impact of human activities upon the environment, increased awareness of and concern for global environment have intensified the demand for sustainable tourism and their focus on balancing of: profit-driven motives, preserving and enhancing the social as well as ecological balance. Based on secondary materials and content analysis present study evaluated existing status of sustainable tourism development and explored important change strategies for future improvement of tourism sector in Bangladesh. The study recognized different views of change management and various strategies for obtaining sustainability in tourism industry. The present study identified the institutional networks, challenges in the way of applying systems approach to change management for sustainable tourism development and suggested important options for overcoming the impediments to operate through the proposed strategic framework in Bangladesh.

Developmental Role of Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Bangladesh: A Case Study of Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industries

Chamber of commerce and industry plays important role for development of business community and creating vibrant competition. Present paper compares chambers operations in Bangladesh, especially, Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry(SCCI) by reviewing global models of chambers practices. The study identifies important gaps between international standards and Bangladesh practices. Mostly practiced chambers model in the world are: Continental Model, Anglo-Saxon Model and Mixed model or Asian model. Like other Asian countries, chambers in Bangladesh including SCCI, have been following Mixed Model. The empirical study found that SCCI is performing different developmental functions like accumulating members, collecting revenue, fulfilling corporate social responsibility and providing business development services to its members and business community. The notable constraining factors of SCCI operations are: short term orientation in assembling members, limited functional activities, lack of creative endeavors in diversifying services, linkage between SCCI and academic institutions, poor research involvement etc. The necessary suggestions for improvement of chambers performance include adoption of creative measures in various operations, providing training to the members, assisting entrepreneurs in obtaining industrial finance and extending support in the establishment of specialized industrial zone for attaining long term developmental objectives

Impact of Network Formation on Entrepreneurial Performance and Growth: A Study of Selected Small Enterprises in Bangladesh

This study aims at evaluating the impact of network formation variables and found to have positive impact on the economic performance and growth of the enterprises. The calucation of the weighted scores of networking statements brought some affirmative results to influence the performance of the enterprises. Through multiple regression and logistic regression models it is identified that network formation variables like service receiving status, consultation of the family, other business dummy and attendance in fair have some significant positive impact both on the growth and performance of the enterprise characteristics natural logarithm of the market value of total assets and from the entrepreneurs’ characteristics set of variables, schooling year and squared value of the experience have been found to have significant positive impact. Finally, it is concluded in the study that to enhance the performance and growth of the enterprises, government and policy rlated organizations need to consider important variables that have positive impact in supplying the entrepreneurial resources especially, developing the net-working relationship

Indigenous Radiosynthesis of [131I]Iodobenzylguanidine ([131I]mIBG) for Neuroblastoma Imaging

Indigenous diagnostic dose of 131I-labeled meta-iodobenzylguanidine ([131I]mIBG) was prepared via Cu+ catalyzed isotope exchange reaction generated in situ by sodium metabisulfite for imaging of neuroblastoma tumor. [131I]mIBG was produced in overall 85-90% radiochemical yield. The average amount of radioactivity of [131I]mIBG was 2164 MBq (1998-2331MBq) with an average specific activity > 1000 MBq/mg at the end of synthesis. The radiochemical purity was ≥ 99.9% after purification through Dowex-1 × 8 ion exchange resin (100-150 mesh) at the date of preparation. The stability of [131I]mIBG at concentration 480-555 MBq/mL was > 97% at 4 °C after 4 days. The room temperature (25 °C) stability of [131I]mIBG was > 98% after 24 h. Biodistribution of [131I]mIBG in patient showed uptake in salivary glands, liver, spleen and excreted though urinary bladder. Neuroendocrine medicated uptake into tumor lesion and metastatic sites were noted which strongly correlate with the morphological abnormalities of patient.

RFID BASED INTRA SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) skill is becoming a technology that might deliver a response to manual glitches. The use of tags, receiver and wireless surfs to join with each other would mean that RFID in combination with the EPC would speech these pain opinions and offer many welfares in different sectors such as production, distribution, trade, logistics, and security. Potential benefits include increased visibility rising supply chain, enlarged proficiency and cost savings through improved data harmonization, better responsiveness to actual prominence change. Trendy the case of the textile or industrial applications, recent systems used by the industry to control the supply chain in addition strength discernibility are being studied, besides improvements in the overall perceptibility of assets are anticipated through labels, readers, drivers, POEs, etc. this model will be developed with new situations and a lively construction industry. It will be focused on Cost, Hardware compatibility, security and maintenance issues.

Monotone iteration scheme for impulsive three-point nonlinear boundary value problems with quadratic convergence

In this paper, we consider an impulsive nonlinear second order ordinary differential equation with nonlinear three-point boundary conditions and develop a monotone iteration scheme by relaxing the convexity assumption on the function involved in the differential equation and the concavity assumption on nonlinearities in the boundary conditions. In fact, we obtain monotone sequences of iterates (approximate solutions) converging quadratically to the unique solution of the impulsive three-point boundary value problem.
