        The majority of the past surveys on the family planning KAP (Knowledge Attitudes Practice) was solely directed to female respondents whereas the husbands still have dominating influence upon the important decisions in the Korean family. The survey directed to the husbands has never been carried out, particularly in rural Korea. Therefore, in order to collect the basic information on the husbands' KAP states, this study was conducted in September 1973. The interviews were made with 434 husbands residing in the central part of Dongnae Area of Shindong Myon, Choonseong country of Kangwon Province. Some of the data were indirectly compared for analysis with the information on the 828 wives who were seperately interviewed in the same Myon area in May of 1973. Some of the major findings are as follows. 1. The general level of husbands on the contraceptives is lower than that of wives except on the male methods such as condom and vasectomy (See table 1-1). 2. The husbands' information on the neightbors' practice of the various contraceptiv methods also extremely lacks except on the condom users. Condom seems to be a method most prevailing in the area (See table 1-2). 3. Husbands' attitudes toward various methods are rather negative in general. However, 50.5 percent of husbands have favorable attitudes toward condom whereas 19.0 percent of them have negative attitudes toward it (See table 2-2). 4. The ideal number of son was 1.7 among those husbands who had ever practiced or were currently practicing whereas that of never practiced husbands was 1.9. 5. The surrently practicing nate reported by the husvands was 25.8 precent while 25.4 percent of husbands were saying that they were not sure whether their wives were practicing or not. This indicates extreme indifference and irresponsibility among husbands. Strong education program approaching husbands is badly needed.

      • 교수 학습 순서에 따른 화학 변화 관련 개념 획득 정도의 비교 연구

        중학교 2학년 과학 교과서 물질의 구성 단원의 주요 개념인 화학 변화 관련 개념을 학습함에 있어 논리적 위계에 따라 제시된 과학 교과서의 교수 학습순서인 화학 변화→원자→분자→분자 운동과, 분자와 원자를 화학 변화의 선행 조직자로 하여 새롭게 배열한 분자→분자 운동→원자→화학 변화의 교수 학습 순서 중, 어떠한 교수 학습 순서가 화학 변화 관련 개념을 이해하는데 효과적인가를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 서울에 위치한 1개 중학교에서 남, 여 학생 각각 2개 반 씩 168명을 표집하여 실험반과 통제반으로 나누어 연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 과학 교과서에서 제시하고 있는 교수 학습 순서 보다 본 연구에서 새롭게 배열한 교수 학습 순서가 학생들의 화학 변화 관련 개념 이해에 효과적이었음을 나타내었다. 그러나 학생들은 수업 처치가 효과가 있었음에도 불구하고 혼란스러웠다는 문제점을 제기하였으므로, 학생들에게 혼란스러움을 주지 않으면서도 효과적인 개념 학습을 위해서는 모든 과학 교과서의 획일적인 교수 학습 순서를 지양하고 교과서마다 특색 있고, 다양한 교수 학습 순서를 제시하는 것이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. This study was to investigate the effective order of instruction for students learning the concepts of chemical change. Chemical change was considered as the important area in 8th grade chemistry part. The study consisted of 168 8th grade students, two classes of boys and girls each, from a middle school in Seoul. They were divided into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. The control group was taught in the order, which was presented in the science textbook; chemical change, atom, and molecule(CAM). For the experimental group, the order was molecule, atom, and chemical change(MAC). From the results of the study, there was a statistically significant difference between the control group and the experimental group. But the interviews indicated that the students were confused with the MAC method in spite of the effective learning. Therefore, for more effective concepts learning without a confusion, we need to provide our students with various learning sequences of science textbooks rather than fixed learning sequences.

        Effect of Electrode Balance on Performance Degradation and Gas Emission in Stacked-type Electrochemical Capacitors

        For electrochemical capacitor, the specific capacitance in positive is not equal to negative because of different sizes between cation and anion such as TEABF4/PC. In stacked-type of electrochemical capacitor, the optimized stacked-type cell generates gas 25% lower than current stacked-type cell. Our results show that H2 gas emitted from current stacked-type is twice that from optimized stacked-type; the proportion of CO in current stacked-type is similar to optimized stacked-type, while that of CO2 in optimized stacked-type is 73% of that in current stacked-type. The working voltages of the current stacked-type capacitor and optimized stacked-type are expected to be around 3.3V and below 3.0V, respectively, because the amount of gas emissions from optimized stacked-type is estimated to be 30% less than that from current stacked-type. And higher reliability is shown in optimized stacked-type with alkali activated carbon in positive and steam activation carbon in negative. The generated gas volume by optimized stacked-type with different carbon is decreased around 50% than current stacked-type electrochemical capacitor.
