Objectives; This study aims to analyze the outcome of the development of Division DEMIS(DEfence Medical Information System) and to propose the dirctions for its implovement in the future. Methods; Document analysis was conducted to examine the performance and outcome of the development of Division DEMIS. Results; The main outcomes of the development of Division DEMIS were found as follows : improvment in system speed, improvement in user satisfaction, provision of safe medical support and cooperation with other nations. In particular, Division DEMIS made it possible to check past history of patients immediately by intergrating the medical records of military hospitals medical units of Division. In addition, drug side effect and duplicated prescription related problems were reduced by the introduction of DUR system. Furthermore, standard care recommendations were designed in the system to provide professional and consistent care. Conclusions; Although Division DEMIS showed acceptable outcomes, there exist still room to be improved including provision of personalized health care service and conncection to external network.

Objectives: This Study aims to identifying the application areas of big data in military healthcare and the preceding subjects for its introduction Methods: Various prior studies and related cases of domestic and foreign healthcare organization are reviewed to identify benchmarking elements for the introduction of big data in military healthcare. Results: This study suggests possible areas for big data introduction in military healthcare. They are prediction of disease, forecast of infectious disease outbreak, optimizing use of medical resources, improvement of responsiveness and accuracy of care, enhancement of medical personnel, medicine, medical equipment and evacuation materials and support analytical data for military medical research. Also, as the preceding subjects for the introduction of big data, data quality management, securing professional workforce and organization, and culture for data-based decision making are suggested. Conclusions: The significance of this study is that it presents possible areas for big data introduction in military healthcare and considerations for its successful introduction.
