Nowadays, the study of energy saving system is actively performed more and more because of the need to preserve the environment and saving operating costs. The hydraulic winch usually descends heavy weights by the control valve. And the hydraulic energy is lost during the descending motion. In this paper, energy saving hydraulic winch using the accumulator is developed to prevent the loss of hydraulic energy. We performed two experiments from the pressure and speed point of view. Variation of the volumetric and mechanical efficiency is derived from the test results according to the change of the weight respectively. Finally, the power consumption is compared with the experiment results using accumulator and not. As a result, the electrical energy of the hydraulic winch using accumulator is saved about 14% than not using the accumulator.
