        An iterative viscous-potential flow procedure has been developed and used to predict aerodynamic characteristics of automobiles in ground proximity. The method is capable of predicting the effects of separated flows. The viscous-potential flow iteration procedure provides the connection between potential flow, boundary layer and wake modules. The separated wake is modeled in the potential flow analysis by thin sheets across which exists a<br/> jump in velocity potential. The ground effect is properly accounted for by placing a body image in the potential flow calculation. The agreement between theory and experiment is good and, thus, demonstrates that the method can be used in the preliminary design stage.

        The SRF(Superconducting Radio Frequency) test facility was constructed in Daejeon and a cryogenic system, which includes a helium liquefier, a distribution box, transfer lines, and a 2K-system, was also set up for the cryogenic temperature. To control the cryogenic system, an Allen-Bradley PLC and a Siemens PLC were used. The Siemens PLC for the helium liquefier was delivered by its maker and tested by them. The AB PLC hardware, draft automatic control logics, and interlocks for others, such as the distribution box, the transfer lines and the 2K-system, were designed by us. A Korean vendor made the hardware, programmed logics, and some GUIs. We and the vendor, together, have had some commissioning for the cryogenic control system. Some hardware which had problems were changed and some programs which had bugs were modified.

        Improvements to the RELAP5/MOD3 Reflood Model and Assessment

        Several improvements to the RELAP5/MOD3 reflood model hate been made. These improvement were made to correct deficiencies in the reflood model identified by the assessment of the RELAP5/MOD3 code against FLECHT-SEASET experiments. The improvements consist of modification of reflood wall heat transfer package and adjusting the droplet size in dispersed flow regime. The time smoothing of wall vaporization and level tracking of transition flow are also added to eliminate the pressure spikes and level oscillation during reflood process. Assessment of the improved model against FLECHT-SEASET experimental data and application of LBLOCA analysis for plant shows that the deficiencies have been corrected. FLECHT-SEASET 실험에 대한 REIAP5/MOD3 평가시에 밝혀진 코드결함을 수정하기 위하여 RELAP5/MOD3 재관수 모델을 개선하였다. 모델개선은 재관수 열전달 모델의 수정과 분산유동영역의 액적 크기의 조절을 통하여 이루어졌으며 재관수 계산시 발생되는 압력 spike와 수위진동 등의 결함을 개선하기 위하여 벽면비등모델의 time-smoothing과 천이 유동시의 level tracking모델도 첨가되었다. FLECHT-SEASET 실험에 대한 개선모델의 검증과 발전소의 대형냉각재 상실 사고해석 응용에서 코드결함이 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다.

        열화학공정으로 제조된 나노결정형 Nd - Fe - B 분말의 특성에 미치는 Ca환원 공정의 영향

        Nanocrystalline Nd-Fe-B powder was synthesized by a new thermochemical process that combined with past reduction-diffusion process and spray-dry process. In this process, Ca reduction process is vary important due to the formation of hard magnetic Nd₂Fe₁₄B phase from various oxides by Ca powder. Therefore, the final products are essentially affected a shape, size, and composition etc. of the Ca reduced powders. Ca reduction was performed to way that raw powders just mixed with Ca powder in proper ratio unlike to compress into compact. The powders after mixture-type Ca reduction mainly composited with Nd₂Fe₁₄B phase even relatively low reaction temperature (800℃) and all particle size of powder were distributed less than 1 ㎛ except for powder after Ca redcued at 1100℃. As a result of TEM analyses, the edges of these powder became more smooth and remarkably reduced Ca oxides as compared with a powders after cake-type Ca reduction, with the consequence that high magnatic properties has been expected. The magnetic properties of powders prepared by mixture-type Ca redcution process showed iHc=5.9kOe, Br=5.5kG, (BH)max=6MGOe. However, magnetic properties of final products using these powders were deteriorated mostly due to surface oxidation and Nd₂Fe₁₄B→ Nd₂Fe_(17)Bx decomposition by violent exothermic reaction during washing.
