샤르댕 회화의 심미적 해석 전환에 관한 연구 - 유교 철학과의 충돌과 관련하여 -

18세기 귀족적 로코코 풍의 화려한 미적 취향이 성행하던 프랑스에서 샤르댕은 주로 서민들의 소박한 삶과 평범한 민중들의 진실한 인간의 모습을 그리고자 했다. 또한, 당시 정물화를 그리는데 있어서의, ‘바니타스’의 교화적 기법에서 과감히 벗어나 훗날 인상주의 화풍에 영향을 미칠만한 독특한 화법을 구가 했다. 따라서 그는 흔히 계몽주의 화가로 불린다. 실제로 18세기 프랑스는 사상적으로나 문화적으로도 대 변혁의 시기였고 볼테르나 디드로와 같은 『백과전서』파가 필두가 되어 당시 만연해 있던 사치와 향락에 대한 개혁의 움직임이 일고 있었다. 그런데 이러한 변화의 움직임에 대한 정서적 저변에는 동양의 유교 사상의 전파가 상당한 영향을 미쳤다고 한다. 한편 디드로는 『살롱』이라는 저널을 통해 예술 비평을 기고하는데 있어, 예술에 있어서 도덕적인 면을 중시 했는데, 샤르댕의 작품을 평하는 데 있어 ‘신비’나 ‘마술’이라는 언어로 극찬하기에 이른다. 그러나 그 비평의 방법에 있어, 주로 생생한 자연을 묘사한 데 대한 피상적인 면에 치중하여 언어적 기교를 구사하는데서 더 나가지 못한 아쉬운 점이 있다. 따라서 샤르댕 회화의 깊은 이면을 간과한 측면이 있다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 샤르댕 회화가 안고 있는 감성의 심연에 대한 고찰을 시도 하려고 연구의 축을 기울였다. 연구 방법으로 먼저, 당시 프랑스 문화적 배경과 함께 유교 문화의 위상과 계몽사상과의 연계성에 관해 알아보았다. 이후, 본 논문의 주제와 부합된다고 여겨지는 4개의 작품을 미학 전문가와의 상의 하에 선정하였고 양식적 특성과 감성적 특성으로 나누어 분석해 보았다. 이러한 분석을 통해 샤르댕 회화는 그들 서양의 화법에 동양 유교적 정서가 가미된, 당시로서는 독특한 예술적 성취를 이룰 수 있었다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. In the 18th-century France where exuberant aesthetic taste for the aristocratic Rococo style prevailed, Chardin sought to draw plain lives of ordinary people and true nature of normal public. he ventured to shake away from edifying technique of 'Vanitas' and created paintings with aesthetic taste using such unique techniques as to influence the Impressionism later. So he is often called an Enlightenment painter. France in the 18th-century underwent a great transformation in terms of ideology or culture; Encyclopedists like Voltaire and Diderot were prompting the revolution on the prevailing extravagancy and pleasure-seeking trend. By the way, the dissipation of Oriental Confucianism was known to have significantly affected emotional aspect of such moves. Maenwhile, While contributing art critic articles to the journal of "Salons". While contributing art critic articles Diderot stressed the moral aspect in art, and most highly praised Chardin's work even using the term of 'mysterious' or 'magical'. That said, over the course of criticising Chardin's art work, Diderot focused too much on superficial aspect of vivid nature depicted by Chardin, so regretfully no more advancing than demonstrating his verbal skills. That means Diderot may have neglected the deep sides of Chardin's painting. Therefore This study approached to find the abyss of emotions represented by Chardin's painting. As a research method, first, I examined the French cultural background as well as the connection between Confucian culture and the Enlightenment Thought. Afterwards, four works considered to be consistent with the theme of this paper were selected in consultation with aestheticians and it was divided into a stylistic characteristic and an emotional characteristic. Through this analysis, Chardin’s paintings concluded that were able to achieve a unique artistic achievement at the time of the Orient’s Confucian empathy in their Western narrative.

A midst the tendency in an attempt to rehabilitate the coexistence of values in Oriental and Western cultures, along with centripetal attention through reincarnation of the Oriental culture, the modern fashion trend is also inclusive of such Oriental flavors even in the opposite Western fashion icons with an outlook for futuristic alternative. In this regard the study is to investigate the Oriental Characteristics shown in the contemporary fashion in a more profound and right manner by evaluating its spirituality and formativeness through analytical survey on preliminary literatures, whose key words are as follows; Fist, heterogeneity inclusive of the Oriental comprehensiveness through non-periodic chaos; second, imperfection in pursue of prefection through non-perfection; third, asymmetry caused by polarized historicity together with agility in the Oriental costumes; fourth, simplicity bridging into religious naught, and; fifth, spatial comfortablity shrouded by loose design. As a result, the study demonstrates that Oriental sensitivity implicative at the modern fashion, prior to its formativeness, shed out a clue of the Oriental profound spirits in its fashion style.
