Purpose: The cylinder block of a driving motor is fabricated by joining a copper alloy with excellent lubrication for a fast-rotating part to a valve plate and a piston with linear reciprocating motion. Although Pb, a commonly added solid lubricant, is being replaced for conformance with ecofriendly regulations, namely Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directives, it does not involve a logical verification system. Methods: In this study, a comparative test method was developed on the basis of the standard for abrasion resistance tests for material components. Results: Improved samples were comparatively evaluated using the developed comparative test method. Conclusion: It is expected that the proposed comparative test method will be reviewed as a verification method for similar development and will be further used for the development of accelerated life tests.

This paper deals with the design and practice method of accelerated life test based on actual construction equipment load data. The accelerated life test conditions were designed by using the failure mode derived from the field claim analysis and the analysis result of load data measured on the actual systems. In conclusion, the purpose of this study is to provide information on the accelerated life test procedures and methods to assure reliability in a short period of test time.

A diaphragm type accumulator is used in oil hydraulic system for construction machinery. Its needs are increasing by the interest in energy saving and the need for a vibration and shock resistant in hydraulic system. However, the reliability evaluation criteria of the accumulator vary from country to country and region. So, it is difficult to ensure the reliability of products to meet domestic situation. In this study, we introduce the reliability criteria of a diaphragm type accumulator for construction machinery. To do this, we analyzed the functional requirements of the accumulator and the main failure mode of the components. We refereed to KS standards and international standards (ISO, JIS, MIL, and SAE). As a result, we enacted a total of 11 type reliability tests including 4 type comprehensive performance tests, 4 type environmental resistance tests, 2 type stability tests, and a life test.
