Objectives : The aim of this study is to make proof of availability for the abdominal diagnosis. This study was designed to compare with the effect of the herb- medication based on abdominal diagnosis and Dangkisoo-san(Dangguixu-san) herb-medication by McGill Pain Questionnaire-Short Form(SF-MPQ) and Pain Disability Index(PDI) in traffic accident patients. Methods : The group for Herb-medication based on abdominal diagnosis consists of 20 patients and the group for Dangkisoo-san(Dangguixu-san) herb-medication consists of 20 patients. The degree of improvement was evaluated By SF-MPQ and PDI after one week treatment. Results : After 1 week treatment there was no significant difference between the two groups in SF-MPQ, PDI scores. Conclusions : The group treated with herb-medication based on abdominal diagnosis is not statistically different from that of Dangkisoo-san(Dangguixu-san) herb-medication group on traffic accident patients. Further study is needed about the effectiveness of the abdominal diagnosis.
경항통을 호소하는 환자들의 경추 만곡에 따른 통증 및 피로도 비교 연구

Objectives :The purpose of this study was to compare about quantity of pain and fatigue according to cervical spine curvature of patient with neck pain Methods :Cervical spine curvature was measured using the sagittal radiography of the cervical spine, neck pain was evaluated using the VAS and neck fatigue was evaluated using fatigue symptom checklist. Based on four line Cobb`s method, 51 subjects were divided into hypolordosis group, normal group, hyperlordosis group. Window version SPSS 12K was used for statistical analysis about relation between pain and cervical spine curvature of each group, also about between fatigue and cervical spine curvature of each group. Results :1. A significant difference was not found between pain and cervical curvature of each group. 2. A significant difference was not found between fatigue and cervical curvature of each group. Conclusions :There was no relation between pain and cervical curvature of each group, also fatigue and cervical curvature.
등속성 운동기를 이용한 사상체질별 요부 굴곡 및 신전근의 근력 평가에 관한 연구

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate flexor-extensor muscle strength of trunk according to Sasang constitution. Methods : This study was carried out with the data from comprehensive medical testing. People were performed Trunk Extension Flexion(TEF) Program of CYBEX NORM System and QSCC(Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classification) II test. And then we made three groups according to Sasang constitution and analyzed isokinetic strength on the TEF. Results : 1. A significant difference(Taeumin>Soeumin>Soyangin) was found in flexor muscle peak torque(PT) of trunk according to Sasang constitution(P<0.05). 2. A significant difference was not found in flexor muscle peak torque%body weight(PT%BW) of trunk according to Sasang constitution. 3. A significant difference(Taeumin>Soeumin>Soyangin) was found in extensor muscle peak torque(PT) of trunk according to Sasang constitution(P<0.05). 4. A significant difference(Soeumin>Taeumin>Soyangin) was found in extensor muscle peak torque%body weight(PT%BW) of trunk according to Sasang constitution(P<0.05). Conclusions : There is a significant difference in isokinetic strength on the TEF according to Sasang constitution.
요추 추나 치료가 교통사고 환자의 초기 HRV, VAS 변화에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of chuna treatment(manipulation) on lumbar sprain caused by traffic accident in early stage, by analysis of the Heart Rate Variability(HRV) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Methods : This study carried out on 20 patients who have received hospital treatment in Daejeon Univ. cheonan Oriental Hospital. Non-chuna group got acupuncture-therapy, herbal medication, physical therapy and Chuna group got all the therapies and chuna treatment. We measured HRV and VAS on 2nd, 4th day. Results : After being treated by our methods, Chuna group showed the inclination to balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve. In chuna group as compared with non-chuna group, an autonomic nerve activity and stress resistance showed the inclination to increase(p<0.05). And chuna treatment reduced the rate of stress increase. Conclusions : The results suggest that chuna treatment help traffic accident patients in early stage to reduce pain. Refer to autonomic nerve system, chuna treatment seem to do positive effect but Further long term study in a large scale is needed.
수면 전 부항요법이 교통사고로 유발된 수면장애에 미치는 임상적 효과

Objectives :The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical effects of cupping therapy on sleep disorders induced by traffic accidents. Methods :The 46 patients were divided into 2 groups : Exp.group was treated with cupping therapy at bedtime and Con.group was treated except cupping therapy at bedtime. To evaluate the efficiency of cupping therapy, the SMH sleep questionnaire and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) were applied before treatment and after 7 days treatment. Results :1. The Exp.group has improved statistical significantly in delaying bedtime and bedtime arousal as compared to the Con.group. 2. The Exp.group was increased in total sleep time but had no statistical significance as compared to the Con.group. 3. The Exp.group was improved in subjective evaluation of satisfaction with sleep, depth of sleep, the overall sleep and difficulty in falling asleep. Conclusions :Cupping therapy at bedtime has clinical effects of improvement of sleep disorder induced by traffic accidents
