Due to strengthen environmental regulations, the interest of eco-friendly fuel is growing such as bio-ethanol. Among them, flex-fuel(gasoline-ethanol blended) vehicles are rapidly increasing in North America and South America. In this study, the effects of gasoline-ethanol blended ratios on flex-fuel engine were investigated. The test fuel were prepared using 94.9% anhydrous ethanol, 85% E85 and gasoline fuels. In this work engine performance and emission test were conducted in 1.0 liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The fuel consumption, exhaust gas emission characteristics and temperature were evaluated under the various gasoline-ethanol blended fuels, water contents of ethanol fuel, and engine operating conditions.
