The Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. The RoHS directive took effect on 1 July 2006, and is required to be enforced and become law in each member state. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. It is closely linked with the waste electrical and electronic equipment directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic e-waste. 유해물질 제한지침(Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, RoHS)로 알려진 특정 유해물질 사용에 관한 규제는 2003년 2월 유럽 연합에서 시행되었다. RoHS는 2006년 7월 1일부터 효력을 발휘하며 이를 위해서는 유럽연합 소속국가에서 법령을 제정하여야 한다. 이 지침은 다양한 전기전자기기의 제조에 있어서 6가지 유해물질의 사용을 제한한다. 이것은 대량 발생하고 있는 유해한 전자기기 폐기물 문제를 해결하기 위해 발의된 법안의 일부이며, 전자제품 재활용에 관한 폐전자기기처리지침(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive, WEEE)과 밀접한 관계가 있다.

구기자, 건조구기엽, 생구기엽 추출물의 미백효과를 검증하였다. Tyrosinase 저해활성 측정결과 건조구기엽 에탄올추출물 500 μg/mL에서 44%의 저해활성을 나타내었으며, melanoma cell (B16F10)에서의 melanin 생합성 저해율 측정결과 건조구기엽 에탄올 추출물 50 μg/mL에서 14%의 저해효과를 나타내었다. 구기자, 건조구기엽, 생구기엽 추출물을 처리한 B16F10군 에서는 tyrosinase protein의 발현이 처리하지 않은 군보다 감소 하였다. 특히, 건조구기엽 추출물의 경우 tyrosinase의 단백질 발현량을 많이 저해하였다. 결과적으로 건조구기엽 추출물의 미백활성이 가장 우수하였으며, 식품 및 화장품의 기능성 소재로 이용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the skin whitening effect of the extracts, Lycii fructus (LF), Dry-L. foilum (DLF) and Fresh-L. folium (FLF). Tyrosinase inhibition activities was 44% in DLF ethanol extracts at a 500 μg/mL. When the tyrosinase activities in B16F10 murine melanoma cell were tested, the activities in DLF ethanol extracts was 14% at a 50 μg/mL concentration. The protein expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor, tyrosinase related protein 1 (TRP-1), TRP-2, and tyrosinase, which are all melanin related factors, showed that LF, DLF and FLF extracts inhibited the protein bio-synthesis in B16F10 melanoma cell. Especially the DLF extract showed greater decrease of protein expressions. Results indicate that the DLF extract tested in the present study had skin whitening activity and can be used as a function a ingredients for food and cosmetic compositions.

UV disinfection system allows the disinfection of municipal and industrial water and wastewater without the use of expensive chlorination and dechlorination techniques, labor intensive equipments In traditional ultraviolet systems the UV lamps are seperated from water by quartz sleeves. quartz is one of the few materials that is virtually transparent to UV light, the UV lamp is placed inside the quartz sleeve.UV light from the lamp is passed through the quartz and into the water, thereby providing disinfection. In fluoropolymer tube-used non-contact UV systems, the water flows through fluoropolymer plastic tubes. banks of UV lamps surround these tubes such that each tube gets exposed to ultraviolet light from all sides. in non-contact design the lamps operates at almost constant temperature. this design is extremly efficient in the utilization of UV energy and superior to conventional contact-systems.
