본 논문에서는 신뢰저하와 신자유주의적 행정개혁과의 연관성을 검토하기 위하여 각 지역별로 구분하여 각국 정부에 대한 신뢰 현황과 신자유주의형 행정개혁이 신뢰에 준 영향에 관해서 검토해 왔다. 그러나 일반적인 추론과는 달리 여러 문헌들을 종 합해 보면 학자들간의 연구결과의 상이성으로 인해 신뢰저하와 신자유주의형 행정개 혁간에는 특별한 연관성을 발견하기 힘들다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그렇지만 현실의 행정개혁은 시민의 신뢰향상을 목적으로 한 다양한 대응책이며 신뢰는 행정개혁을 위한 시그널이 될 수도 있고 특히 양자는 직접적인 관계는 없다고 할지라도 신뢰저하는 최 소한 개혁의 필요성을 인지시키는 효과를 가진다고 볼 수 있다. This article explores the effects of trust on the neoliberal administrative reform in order to find the relationship between the decline of trust in government and neoliberal government reforms. Unlike general inference, no correlation has been found between the decline of trust in government and the neoliberal administrative reforms because of the different outcomes induced from various studies. However, government reform in the real world can be one of the measures to improve public trust which, in particular, trust can become a signal for an administrative reform. Although it is hard to find correlation between the decline of trust and government reform, it can at least be said that the decline of trust in government may have the trigger effect on the administrative reform.
