Metal matrix composites had generated a lot of interest in recent times because of significant in specific properties, it was also highlighted as the material of frontier industry because strength, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant were superiored. In recent years, the study of metal matrix composite has increased by aluminum alloy. The study is based on the tribological properties of AC4CH that is a part of the mechanical property of metal matrix composites. Metal matrix composite that is produced from matrix material AC4CH and reinforcement SiO , Al O and TiO are added to the metal matrix composite for strength so binding among the whisker can take place. Each metal matrix composite is produced using the squeeze casting method. To test for tribo a pin-on-disk machine and lubricant is used without paraffine 8.2CST at room temperature which is 40℃As the results of this study, the tribological properties of each specimen are more improved than AC4CH. The variation of coefficient resistance is more stable at the AC4CH and TiO , but the variation rates are higher at the inanimate binder.<br/>

Wings for defense industry such as fighters, missiles, and rockets should have no deformation or damage on the structure, strength, and hardness safety of constituted pared and the structures near to the bodies. The structures of existing wings had holes for light weight and plates and frames were fixed with rivets or screws, thus, there were difficulties and limits in light weight. In this study, an improvement was made in current joint methods through EB welding and laser welding for light weight of wings and welding strength was measured through strength test. In addition, finite element analysis was performed for welding process so as to induce optimum welding condition.

In this study. a computer analysis has been developed for predicting the pipe pressure of the intake and exhaust manifold. To obtain the boundary conditions for a numerical analysis, one dimensional and non-steady gas dynamic calculation is performed by using the MOC(Method Of Characteristic). The main numerical parameters are the variation of the engine revolution to calculate the pulsating flow which the intake and exhaust valves are working. The comparison of exhaust pressure in case of numerical results is quite matched with in case of experimental results. When engine revaluation is increased, the pressure amplitude showed a high value, but the pressure frequency was decreased.<br/>

Recently, the steel parts used at the aerospace and automobile industries are required to be used light weight parts. Therefor, used material, steel have to be a high stress, which is an indispensable condition in this field. At the consideration of parts design, high hardness of the lightweight parts have an benefit of saving fuel and material. A high stress of metal has a point of difference according to the shape of design, external cyclic load and condition of vibration. A crack generates on the surface of metal or under yield stress by defect of inner metal defect or surface defect and slowly, this crack grow stable growth. Finally, rapidity failure phenomena is happen. Fatigue failure phenomena, which happen in metal, bring on danger in human life and property. therefor, antifatigue failure technology take an important part of current industries Currently, the shot peening is used for removing the defect from the surface of steel and improving the fatigue strength on surface. Therefor, this paper investigated the effect on frcature toughness using shot peening which is improve the resistance of crack growth and crack expansion rate by fatigue that make a compressive residual stress on surface.<br/>

Recently, the steel material part used at the automobile and aerospace industries are require to be used lightweight parts. therefore, used material steel have to be a high stress and light, which is an indispensable condition in this field. aluminum alloy is very light and high stress. but many industries are require to more mechanical characteristic. so we need to development research about the aluminum alloy. there are many way for enhance mechanical characteristic of the aluminum alloy. we used the shot peening as way of the enhance mechanical characteristic. The wear test is one of important factors which evaluate the life of the machine. the surface conditions are measured to know the influence wear characteristics by shot peening and influence on material durability wear and friction by shot velocity. test result show the wear characteristics were increased by optimum peening condition. but the wear characteristic were decreased by under peening or overpeening condition. In this study, used a ball on disk type experiment to measure wear less and friction . shot velocity are 40㎧,50㎧ 70㎧ and used specimen are Al7075-T6 and Al6061-T651.

It was also highlighted as the materials of frontier industIy because strength, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant were superiored.<br/> In this study Fatiuge crack growth behavior tests on compact tension specimen(haIf-size) of thickness I2.5mm were conducted by using sinusoidal waveform. Compact tension specimens (half-size) were used and fatigue crack growth behavior daJdN and stress intensity factor range L1 K were analyzed concerning to the R value of 0.1 and 0.05. In order to find out the value ΔK, load amplitude constant method was applied by the standard fatigue testing method describes in ASTM E647-95a As the results of this study, Fatigue crack growth behavior increased with in creasing the load ratio, Consequently, Fatigue life was observed roughly in the order of AC4CH> nobiner> Si0₂, independently on crack propagation direction and stress ratio.
MoSi₂기 복합재료의 제조과정에 따른 트라이볼로지 특성

In this study, monolithic MoSi₂, 20 vol.% SiC particles-reinforced MoS₂ matrix, SiC/MoSi<br/> composite and 20 vol.% ZrO₂ panicles-reinforced MoSi₂ matrix, ZrO₂/MoSi₂ composite was fabricated by hot pressed sintering at 1350℃ under 30 ㎫ during 60 min. Vickers hardness and sliding wear resistance of the monolithic MoSi₂, ZrO₂/MoSi₂ and SiC/MoSi₂ composite was investigated at room temperature. Abrasion tester used a pin-on-disk type and a Si3N4 ceramic ball which used as machine structural materials. The test condition apply to load of 8kgf a 7.5rpm for 6 hours and the effect of hardness is also discussed The ZrO₂/MoSi₂ composite has shown the very excellent wear resistance compared with monolithic MoSi₂ and SiC/MoSi composite at room temperature.<br/>

Recently, many components used in machinery industry demand lightness and high strength. The shot-peening method is used in order to improve fatigue life of spring steel(SUP-9) which is used in suspension of automobile. The compressive residual is induced in shot-peening process. This paper investigated the effect of the compressive residual stress on the fracture toughness. The test of Fracture toughness had been conducted at room temperature, high temperature(100℃, 200℃) and low temperature(-60℃, -100℃) from SUP-9 Steel was process by shot-peening. so we survey fractography of SUP-9 Steel by SEM.

At the consideration of parts design, high hardness of the lightweight parts has an benefit of saving fuel and material. In this study, the surface conditions are measured to know the influence on fatigue properties by shot peening. In this study, the optimum shot peening condition is investigated. Fatigue test was accomplished to investigate the effects of compressive residual stress by shot peening on fatigue characteristics. Test results show the fatigue characteristics were increased by optimum peening condition. But the fatigue characteristics were decreased by under peening or over peening condition.
