      • Populus alba X glandulosa의 생장과 토양인자화의 관계

        P. alba x glandulosa의 생장은 산록부에서는 양호하나 산정부로 올라갈수록 생장이 떨어지는 원인을 구명코자 생장과 토양 인자간의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 1. 각조림지는 연평균생장량으로 산정부는 수고 0.7m 인데 비하여 산록부는 1.29m 로서 184$\%$나 생장이 빠르고 직경생장에도 218$\%$나 빠르다. 또한 산록부에서 산정까지의 사거리가 길수록 산복까지 생장이 비슷하여 생장의 감소율이 완만하고 사거리가 짧을수록 생장의 감소율이 급격하여 산록부에만 생장이 좋고 그위는 불량하다. 2. 토양함수율과 수고 및 직경과의 상관계수는 각각 r=0.76, r=0.71로서 높은 상관관계를 나타내고 또한 토심과 수고(r=0.65) 및 직경(r=0.79)과도 높은 상관관계를 나타내며 경사도와 생장은 부의 상관을 나타내고 있다. 이와같이 이들 세인자가 생장에 가장 영향을 많이 주는 것으로 생각되며 대체로 산록부는 토심이 깊고 경사가 완만하여 토양수분이 높았다. 3. 유기질과 전질소도 수고 및 직경생장과 각각 상관관계가 있으며 5$\%$의 유의성이 있었고 산록부에 유기질과 전질소의 함량이 높았다. 4. 가리와 수고생장고, 칼슘 및 토양산도는 직격생장과 각각 상관관계가 있으며 이들 요인들은 생장에 어느정도 영향을 주는 것으로 사료되며 5. 그러나 유효인산, 마그네슘, 망강은 생장과 상관관계가 없었다. Populus alba x glandulosa shows greater growth performance in the lower part of the hill than in the upper part. In order to study this reason, correlation between the soil factors and the growth was examined. The results were as follows. 1. Annual mean height growth was 1.29m in foot hill but 0.7m in upper part, showing 184$\%$ better growth in the foot hill than in the upper part and the similar situation was shown in the diameter growth. The longer slope distance, the better growth: generally the good growth shows in the first harf of the distance. 2. High positive correlation shows between the growth performance and soil moisture: r=0.76 in the hight and r=0.71 in the diameter, and also positive correlation between soil depth and the growth performance. r=0.65 in the height and r=0.79 in the diameter. On the other hand, negative correlation between the slope and soil depth are considered as limiting factors to the growth. 3. A significant correlation appeared between growth performance and organic matter and between the growth performance and total nitrogen as well. This shows that the nutrient elements were contained much in the foot hill. 4. The correlation between the height growth and potassium, and between the growth and calcium and pH were shown . 5. However, no correlation was shown between the growth and available phosphate, magnesium and available managanese .

        Populus alba × P . glandulosa 의 4가지 Isozyme ( GOT , ACP , MDH , ADH ) 의 유전

        Inheritance of four isozymes, GOT, ACP, MDH and ADH, in Populus alba × P. glandulosa was investigated with starch gel electrophoresis. All four isozymes showed bands. For GOT, six or seven loci were postulated and observed segregation of hybrids at five variable loci was in agreement with expected segregation. Two loci were postulated in ACP; one locus showed no variation but the other locus showed variation. As one additional band was found in P. alba × P. alba (italy), hybrids from P. alba × P. alba × P. glandulosa showed more variation than hybrids from P. alba × P. glandulosa. One monomorphic locus and two variable loci were postulated in MDH. For ADH, both parents were turned out as homozygotes but for different alleles and thus all progenies were heterozygotes. ADH in hybrids seems to be a dieter enzyme as it showed on additional band between two parental bands. There were no variation in band betweens of four enzymes among the clones of P alba and P. glandulosa, respectively.

        토양수분이 Populus alba × P . glandulosa 및 교배양친수의 (交配兩親樹) 삽목발근과 (揷木發根) 생장에 미치는 영향

        The highest cutting ratio and the best growth performance of the P. albs, P. albs × P. glanduloscr and P. glandulosa were at -0.05 bars of soil water potential (Ψ_s). Their growth and rooting ability of cuttings were better in suitable soil moisture contents, 19.650, but were worse in low soil moisture contents, 11.41% and 16.66%, respectively. Specially, P. alba × P. glandulosa appeared hybrid vigor in high soil water potential (Ψ_s= - 0.05 bars) but not appeared it below Ψ_s = -0.5 bars. It is believed that P. glandulosa is a natural hybrid between P. davidiana and P. alba in view of morphological characteristics. Aspen, normally, does not have the rooting ability of cuttings, however, P. glandulosa showed the rooting ability, though the ratio was low, 23%. It is estimated that this rooting ability was originated from P. alba. In addition, its growth rate was between P. alba and P. davidiana, and the sensitivity of water requirement for the growth was also really equal to P. alba. This facts prove P. glandulosa to be natural hybrid between P. alba and P. davidiana.

        Variation and Heredity of Stomatal Frequency , Stomatal Size and Transpiration in Populus alba × P . glandulosa and Its Parents

        N/A The good growth of Populus alba × P. glandulosa is shown at the foothill of the mountain where good soil moisture is available, but its growth is poor at the upper part of the mountain where soil moisture is limitted. Stomatal frequency, stomatal size and transpiration rates that affect soil moisture demand were determined in order to know how this character is inherited from its parents. Number of stomata per ㎟, length and wigth of stomata from the abaxial leaf and transpiration rate (g/㎠) per day in P. alba × P. glandulosa showed intermediate values between those of their parents, while P. alba showed the highest values and P. davidiana the lowest values. The values of stomatal frequency of P. alba × P. glandulosa were close to the expected mean values of parents in the x² test, and in the regression analysis the transpiration rates for the hybrid and its midparent had strong relationship with 0.97 of regression coefficient. The fact that these intermediate characteristics were observed in the hybrid suggests incomplete dominance in the hybrid. It is concluded that soil moisture demand in P. alba × P. glandulosa and its parents is closed related to stomatal frequency, stomatal size and transpiration rate.

        Populus glandulosa U . 에 유사한 교잡종의 (交雜種) 엽특성

        This study was conducted to widen the range of characteristics of the hybrids, P.alba x P.glandulosa, i.e. aiming for gene population expansion P.glandulosa seemed to have the similar characteristics as the one segregated from the natural hybrids between P.alba and P.davidiana. Thus the main objectives of this study were to make many crosses among poplars and then to identify leaf characteristics of the crosses similar to P.glandulosa, the results obtained can be summerized as follows; 1. Leaf characteristics such as leaf margin, presence of glands at leaf base and pubescence density, of crosses made from P.alba.davidiana x P.datidiana, and P.davidiana.alba x P.davidina showed 44% and 90%, respectively, of similarity to P.glandulosa. 2. The ratio of leaf size, including leaf length, leaf width, length from leaf base to width line, and petiole length, of the above crosses was similar to P.glandulosa. 3. Pubescence density of the dorsal leaf surface in hybrids between P.alba and P.davidiana showed generally intermediate of the parental appearance. Frequency of pubescence appearance differed from depending upon the use of P.alba, either as a female or a male parent. The use of P.alba as a male parent increased frequency of Pubescence appearance. 4. The presence of glands at the leaf base in P.glandulosa may be inherited from P.davidiana which possesses gland although gland is not present in all P.davidiana rather from P.alba which has no gland

        경북지방 소나무 및 곰솔에 대한 동위효소 IDH , ME 및 PGI 의 유전

        This study was conducted to estimate the inheritance of allozyme variants in IDH, ME and PGI, using megagametophyte tissue of seeds of Pinus densiflora and Pinus thunbergii in Kyungpook province. Two alleles at a single locus were detected for MH in Pines densiflora, but Pines thunbergii showed no varition, showing only one band. Four alleles at one locus were determined for ME in Pines densiflora and Pines thunbergii . Two loci were found for PGI and no variation seemed to occurred in A-locus as the presence of one single band. Five alleles were presented in B-locus in Ptnus densiflora, but two alleles B₁ and B₂ in Pinus thunbergii. In PGI, an allozyme composed of multiple bands is observed from haploid megagamtophyte tissues. The isozyme variants of IDH, ME and PGI were appeared to segregate into 1 : 1 ratio for all zones.

        Populus alba × P . glandulosa 교배양친수의 (交配兩親樹) 생장에 대한 유전변이의 추정

        Genetic variance and heritability for height growth of Populus alba × P. glandulosa were estimated. Remarkable different between P. alba × alba(Italy). female and P. alba naturalized in Korea was observed in the genetic variance and therefore genetic character of the P. alba × alba(Italy) was considered better than that of P. alba. The heritability (83%) for the female was considerably high. On the other hand, P. glandulosa, pollen tree. showed narrow genetic variance and also very heritability(17%). Two(A and B) of three pollen trees showed the same trend in the genetric variance. However, the other(c) was somewhat different from A and B. Similarly, rooting ability of cuttings differed between female trees, but did not between male trees. Naturalized Pl alba showed relatively higher rooting ability than P. alba × alba(Italy). In the pollen trees, the ability was similar in two male trees. However, the other male tree(c) was slightly poorer than the other two.

        形態的 特性에 의한 수원사시나무의 雜種性

        In order to study the hybridity and origin of Populus glandulosa, the pollen tree of Populus alba×P. glondulosa, the variation of morphological characteristics and rooting abillity of Populus glandulosa were compared with those of P. tomentosa, P. davidiana and P. albs. The morphological characteristics, such as leaf length and width, petiole, leaf pubescence, gland of leaf base and stomata were investigated and global morphological comparison among these species was carried out by canonical discriminent analysis. Based on the morphological characteristics, P. tomentasa appeared to be intermediated of P. alba and P. davidiana, and P. glandulosa appeared to be the intermediate of and P. tomentosa and P. davidiana while P. dawidiana originated from Buchum and Suwon appeared to be the intermediate of P. glandulosa and P. davidiana. While P. davidiana had no rooting abillity as expected, P. tomentosa showed about 40% of rooting, which was about one half of the rooting ability of P. alba. P. glandulosa and Buchun & Suwon-originated P. davidiana showed 4~7% of poor rooting. This fact indicated rooting factor from P. alba was flowed into these species. P. tomentosa was reported already as a natural hybrid between P. alba var. Bolleana and P. davidiana in China. We can conclude from above results that P. glandulosa and P. davidiana originated from Buchun and Suwon is supposed to be an individual from hybrid between P. alba and P. davidiana.

        소나무류 침엽내에 함유된 phenolic compounds 중 솔잎혹파리의 저항성 물질 조사

        This study was carried out to study the resistant substances to pine needle gall midge and seasonal variation of phenolic compounds in pine needles among susceptible and resistant species to pine needle gall midge. Free and water soluble phenolic compounds contained in pine needles showed seasonal variations among pine species. But, catechol, vanillic acid and syringic acid including phenolic compounds showed no variation between pine species, even the amount of those component varied by the seasons. Salicylic acid in pine needles showed 140ppm in Pinus virginiana, 35ppm in Pinus thurzbergii and 72 ppm in hybrid pine, Pinus thunbergii × P. virginiana, but traces in Pinus densiflora on May and June, hatching season in larvae of pine needle gall midge. There was high level of salicylic acid in resistant species to pine needle gall midge but traces in susceptible species. As our previous researches, the necrosis rate of larvae of pine needle gall midge showed high level on the solution of phenolic compounds extracted from needles of P. virginiana and salicylic acid, and there was no gall formation in P. virginiana, so that salicylic acid in pine needles seems to have relation with those results. Therefore, it is estimated that salicylic acid is resistant substance to pine needle gall midge.
