        폐경기 여성의 심폐기능, 체력과 골밀도의 관계 분석

        This study was to examine the relationship of cardiorespiratory function (CRF), fitness, and bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. The subjects were 231 postmenopausal women, who had visited a health promotion center for a medical check-up including BMD, CRF, and fitness test in 2008. There was significant difference in age (F=5.681, p=0.004), height (F=3.844, p=0.023), and vital capacity (VC) (F=6.502, p=0.002) among normal, osteopenia and osteoporosis group. However, there was no significant difference in weight, body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, resting heart rate, VO2max, sit up, grip strength, vertical jump, reaction time, balance, and sit and reach among normal, osteopenia and osteoporosis group. In addition, significant but low partial correlation was observed between VC and BMD (r=0.195, p=0.003), and multiple regression analysis showed that only VC was variable having 7.2% of R2 (p=0.010). In conclusion, there were no relationship between fitness levels including CRF and BMD among postmenopausal women.

        저항성 운동이 노인의 성장관련 동화호르몬과 아디포사이토카인에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of resistance exercise on anabolic hormones and adipocytokines of the elderly. The subjects were randomly assigned into the resistance exercise group (n=20), and the control group (n=16). An exercise session composed of three phases (warm-up phase, main exercise phase, and cool-down phase) was performed for 60 minutes during which various types of resistance exercises were given to the exercise group of the elderly using dumbbell. Exercise session was performed 3 times per week for 12 weeks. The analyses represented that average GH (F=4.587, p=0.043) was significantly increased by the 12-week band exercise, whereas average IGF-I, IGFBP-3, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and CRP were not significantly changed (p>0.05). For the elderly people, resistance exercise did not appear to bring positive effects on anabolic hormones and adipocytokines.

        일부 한국 성인 남성의 생활습관 요인과 고혈압 유병 상태의 관련성

        This study was to examine the relationship between lifestyle factors and hypertension in Korean men. The subjects were 1,938 men aged 20 to 79 yr who visited health promotion center for medical check during 2004-2008. The diagnosis of hypertension was defined by JNC7 report. The prevalence of hypertension was 23.3% in this study population. Multivariate logistic regression demonstrated that the odds ratio (95% CI) of hypertension across age groups were 2.40 (1.42-4.09) for forties, 3.64 (2.16-6.12) for fifties, 6.43 (3.80-10.88) for sixties, 5.80 (2.96-11.38) for seventies compared to the twenties. Also, compared with normal group, the odds ratio (95% CI) of hypertension in over-weight and obese groups were 2.94 (2.11-4.09) and 3.70 (2.70-5.07), respectively. The odds ratio (95% CI) of hypertension in those who were drinking one or two times per week and three times per week were 1.33 (1.03-1.72) and 2.33 (1.67-3.22), respectively, compared with non-drinker group. It is concluded that the significant risk factors of hypertension were age, BMI, and alcohol-drinking among Korean men. However, smoking, exercise, and diet were not related to the risk of hypertension.

        미용덤벨 운동이 노인의 근감소증 예방을 위한 신체조성, 체력 및 혈중지질에 미치는 영향

        많은 선행연구는 대규모 역학조사를 통하여 노화와 함께 근육의 감소가 나타나는 현상을 규명하였고, 이를 근감소증(sarcopenia)으로 명명하였다. 근감소증이 사망률과 유병률에 직접적인 관련성을 나타내지 않는 것 같으나 근육의 감소는 근력의 저하, 체력의 약화, 활동성의 감소로 이어져 결국에는 독립적인 생활이 불가능해지며 신체장애를 가져오게 된다. 본 연구는 근감소증 예방을 위한 미용덤벨 운동의 효과를 살펴보는데 있다. 본 연구의 피검자는 S시 J구에 소재한 J노인복지관 운동프로그램에 참가하는 60-70대의 노인으로 통제군 19명, 운동군 8명으로 분류하였다. 미용덤벨 운동은 12주 동안 주2회의 빈도로 실시하여, 운동 전ㆍ후로 신체조성, 체력, 혈중지질 변인을 측정하였다. 12주간의 미용덤벨 전ㆍ후 체지방률(F=0.388, p=0.539)은 유의한 차이가 나타나 지 않았으나, 체중(F=4.312, p=0.048), 체질량지수(F=4.532, p=0.043), 근육량(F=4.743, p=0.039)은 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 체력의 덤벨들기(F=1.103, p=0.304), 등 뒤에서 손잡기(F=0.214, p=0.648)는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 2분 제자리 걷기(F=33.638, p<0.001), 의자에서 일어섰다 앉기(F=14.575, p=0.001), 의자앉아 앞으로 굽히기(F=7.198, p=0.013), 244cm 왕복 걷기(F=14.890, p=0.001)는 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 혈중지질 변인의 총콜레스테롤(F=0.030, p=0.864), 중성지방(F=0.142, p=0.710), 고밀도지단백(F=2.066, p=0.163), 혈당(F=0.125, p=0.727), 당화혈색소(F=0.945, p=0.340)는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 노인에게 있어서 미용덤벨 운동은 신체조성 및 체력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치나 혈중지질 변인에는 그렇지 못한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Previous epidemiological studies reported that significant muscle loss is observed with advancing aging, called sarcopenia. This study is to investigate the effects of treatment dumbbell exercise on prevention of sarcopenia. The subjects were elderly between 60~70 years old who participated in J-Welfare senior center exercise program at J-gu in S-city and divided into control group(N=19) and exercise group(N=8). Treatment dumbbell exercise was performed 2 times per week for 12 weeks and body composition, fitness, and blood lipid profiles were measured before and after this program. There was no significance in body fat before and after 12 weeks of treatment dumbbell exercise, but there was significance in weight(F=4.312, p=0.048), BMI(F=4.532, p=0.043), and FFM(F=4.743, p=0.039). There was no significance in fitness such as arm curl(F=1.103, p=0.304), and back scratch(F=0.214, p=0.648), but there was significance in 2-minute step(F=33.638, p<0.001), chair stand(F=14.575, p=0.001), chair sit and reach(F=7.198, p=0.013), and 8-ft up and go(F=14.890, p=0.001). The variables of blood lipid profiles such as TC(F=0.030, p=0.864), TG(F=0.142, p=0.710), HDL(F=2.066, p=0.163), glucose (F=0.125, p=0.727), and HbA1c(F=0.945, p=0.340) has no significance. It was found that treatment dumbbell exercise has positive effects on body composition and fitness but has no positive effects on blood lipid profiles of the elderly.

        휠체어 트레드밀 운동 시 심박수를 이용한 에너지 소비량 추정

        본 연구는 휠체어 트레드밀 점증부하 운동 시의 심박수를 이용하여 에너지소비량 회귀모형을 도출하여, 휠체어 운동을 실시할 때의 에너지소비량 추정식을 제시하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있었다. 본 연구의 피험자는 휠체어 주행 연습을 주 3회. 회당 30분씩, 4주간 실시한 대학생 남성 36명, 여성 23명으로 구성되었으며, 휠체어 운동부하검사(평균 12분 51.93초) 동안 컴퓨터를 통하여 매 2∼3초마다 1회의 측정 요소를 기록하여, 각 피험자마다 최소 300회 이상의 심박수와 에너지소비량이 측정되었다. 이를 통하여 본 연구에서 사용된 총 사례수는 남성 14,641회, 여성 7,985회이었다. 연구결과, 심박수와 에너지소비량과의 상관계수는 남성 r=0.898, 여성 r=0.775로 나타났으며, 연령, 신장, 체중, 심박수를 이용한 회귀식은 남성 에너지소비량(kcal/min)=0.045×연령(years)+0.043×신장(cm)+0.048×체중(kg)+0.111×심박수(beats/min)-18.290(R2=82.7%); 여성 에너지소비량(kcal/min)=-0.209×연령(years)+0.081×신장(cm)+0.050×체중(kg)+0.057×심박수(beats/min)-14.603(R2=70.3%)으로 나타났다. 또한, 심박수만을 이용한 회귀식은 남성 에너지소비량(kcal/min)=0.111×심박수(beats/min)-6.565(R2=80.7%); 여성 에너지소비량(kcal/min)=0.057×심박수(beats/min)-2.958(R2=60.1%)로 나타났다. 결과에서 제시한 회귀식들은 결정계수(R2)가 모두 60%이상으로 나타나, 심박수를 이용한 에너지소비량 추정 공식으로서 모두 적합한 것으로 판단된다. 다만, 남성의 경우 심박수 한 변인만을 사용하여 에너지소비량을 추정하여도 무방하나, 여성의 경우 보다 정확한 에너지소비량 추정을 위하여 연령, 신장, 체중, 심박수의 모든 변인을 사용할 것을 권장한다. The purpose of this study was to predict energy expenditure based on heart rate during wheelchair treadmill exercise and to provide predictive formula to be used in field, not laboratory. Participants were 36 men and 23 women in college. The heart rate was measured at every 2-3 seconds using computer during wheelchair graded exercise test(average 12min 51.93sec); so, each participant`s heart rate and energy expenditure were measured at least 300times. Total cases used in this study was 14,641 times of male and 7,985 times of female. As a result of this study, Pearson correlation coefficient of heart rate and energy expenditure was r=0.898 in male and r=0.775 in female; also, prediction equation using age, height, weight, and heart rate was as following: male energy expenditure(kcal/min)=0.045×age(years)+0.043×height(cm)+0.048×weight(kg)+0.111×heart rate(beats/min)-18.290(R2=82.7%); emale energy expenditure(kcal/min)=-0.209×age(years)+0.081×height(cm)+0.050×weight(kg)+0.057×heart rate(beats/min)-14.603(R2=70.3%). The prediction equation using only heart rate was as following: male energy expenditure(kcal/min)=0.111×heart rate(beats/min)-6.565(R2=80.7%); female energy expenditure(kcal/min)=0.057×heart rate(beats/min)-2.958(R2=60.1%) All R2 of prediction equations suggested in result were over 60% which is thought to be proper to predict energy expenditure using heart rate. It is fine to predict energy expenditure using heart rate only in man, but it is recommended to use all variables(age, height, weight, heart rate) in using for woman.

        고등학교 야구선수들의 Functional Movement Screen (FMS)과 체력과의 상관성

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between FMS and physical fitness variables in high school baseball players. The study included 62 male baseball players (age, 16-18 years) in Seoul during September 2012. Grip strength(right arm) showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.024) and hurdle step(p=0.041). Isotonic bench-press showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.031) and hurdle step(p=0.020). Isotonic Squat showed a significant correlation with in-line lunge(p=0.026) and rotary stability(p=0.006). Sit-ups showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.024), in-line lunge(p=0.021), and active straight leg raise(p=0.008). Push-ups showed a significant correlation with deep squat (p=0.014), active straight leg raise(p=0.012), and rotary stability(p=0.019). Side-steps showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.020) and hurdle step(p=0.011). Trunk extension backward showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p<0.001), hurdle step(p=0.031), in-line lunge(p=0.001), shoulder mobility(p=0.006), active straight leg raise(p<0.001), and rotary stability (p=0.042). Sit-and-reach showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p<0.001), in-line lunge(p=0.001), active straight leg raise(p<0.001), and rotary stability(p=0.028). Left and right leg splits showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.010), hurdle step(p=0.005), in-line lunge(p=0.017), active straight leg raise(p=0.006), and rotary stability(p<0.001). Vertical jump height showed a significant correlation with deep squat(p=0.042). One-leg standing with eyes open showed a significant correlation with hurdle step(p=0.021). We concluded that exercise-training programs for increasing flexibility and muscular endurance are necessary to prevent and manage sports injuries because these injuries are strongly associated with flexibility and muscular endurance.

        체력수준에 따른 수면박탈이 운동수행 능력에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sleep deprivation on physical performance according to physical fitness level. Thirty-eight military officers were included in this study. Results of the Army Physical Fitness Test were used to classify the participants into the “high fitness group” and “low fitness group.” The participants performed physical fitness tests under normal and sleep deprived conditions. After sleep deprivation, VO₂max (p=0.001), grip strength (p=0.007), and push-up (p=0.0004) were significantly decreased in the high fitness group. However, vertical jump (p=0.346), sit-up (p=0.120), and side-step (p=0.109) were not significantly affected by sleep deprivation. In the lower fitness group, VO₂max (p=0.006), push-up (p=0.020), and vertical jump (P<0.001) were significantly decreased. However, grip strength (p=0.798), sit-up (p=0.850), and side-step (p=0.408) were not significantly affected by sleep deprivation. We concluded that cardiorespiratory function and muscle endurance were significantly decreased by sleep deprivation, but it was unclear whether other components of physical fitness were affected. Furthermore, there was no difference between groups in terms of sleep deprivation.
