        항공기 복행사례를 통한 제주국제공항 저층 윈드시어의 특징 연구

        Low level wind shear, which often occurs at Jeju International Airport, is a phenomenon that occurs when the topological location and topographical characteristics of Jeju Island are combined with weather characteristics. Low level wind shears, which are caused by rapid changes in wind direction and wind speed, pose a threat to aircraft safety and also cause abnormal situations, such as aircraft go-around, diversion, and cancellation. Many meteorological studies have been conducted on weather patterns, occurrence periods and frequency of low level wind shears. However, researches related to aircraft operations are limited where here we study the similarities and differences between strong southwest winds and bidirectional tailwind type low level wind shears based on aircraft go-around cases at Jeju International Airport. The results are expected to be used to enhance safety when operating to Jeju International Airport, which includes pilot training that reflects the characteristics generated by wind changes, pilot prior notification, providing pilots with latest trends, and increasing extra fuel.

        한·중 항로 복선화 전후 혼잡도 변화 연구

        A significant growth in local air traffic volume is leading to airway congestion and flight delays especially for Incheon-China and Incheon-Europe sectors. A key method to increase the airway capacity is to place a supplemental airway parallel to the existing one and in cooperation between the aviation authorities between China and Korea, a dual airway track was implemented on December 6, 2018. Here, we use airline A's flight data to analyze the congestion change effect of the new airway. Results show total delay time to Europe is reduced 51% (13.4 to 6.6 minutes) as the delay distribution for 16-30 minutes, 31 minutes and greater decreased from 23.2% to 8.2% and 8.7% to 1.0% respectively. The delay to China also decreased but the drop is not as significant as flights to Europe. This is caused by the difference in flight distance, traffic volume, and characteristics of flights landing and transiting China. Flights to Europe show a broad distribution in altitude allocation and reduction in aircraft separation demonstrating the effectiveness of a dual airway track.

        In this study, we surveyed analysis of ADS-B ground trajectory data using non-aviation approval public data. For analysis used non-aviation public data and commercial ADS-B receiver. The study result is available using ADS-B ground trajectory data for airfield surveillance on limited range. Also, to confirmed of available using non-aviation public data for aviation research.

        시뮬레이션 기반의 지상지연 프로그램 적용방안에 관한 연구 - 제주국제공항을 사례로 -

        Being a cost-efficient solution for alleviating the traffic congestion in airspace, Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) has drawn more attentions from not only air traffic controllers but also researchers in the field of Air Traffic Management (ATM). Among other ATFM initiatives, it is believed that Ground Delay Program (GDP) could be effectively applied to reduce the congestion particularly in the relatively small airspace with dense traffic demand. This paper introduces a novel way that suggests flights to be delayed on the departing airports together with amount of the delays (in time) for those flights to be delayed. Adopting a fast-time simulation for predicting airspace delay of each flight for a given flight plan, the method is designed to iteratively and incrementally adjust the departure times in the plan towards reducing total airspace delays. Applying the method to Jeju airport with a hypothetically high demand, the paper demonstrates the airspace delay could be significantly reduced by applying GDP at Gimpo airport where more than 60% of Juju-bound flights departure. Although the simulation model needs to be calibrated and validated for the real-world application, the results clearly shows that the approach can possibly implemented as a tool for preparing the daily plan at the pre-tactical stage defined in the ICAO ATFM manual.

        항적자료를 활용한 항공기 연료 소모량 추정 및 정확도 분석

        As global warming becoming an environmentally serious issue, more attention is drawn to fuel consumption which is the direct source of green house gas emission. The fuel consumption by aircraft operation is not an exception. Motivated by the societal and environmental context, this paper explains a method for estimation of aircraft fuel consumed during their flights as well as the computational process using real flight track data. Applying so-called 'Total Energy Model' along with aircraft specific parameters provided in EUROCONTROL's Base of Aircraft Data (BADA) to aircraft radar track data, we estimate fuel consumption of individual aircraft flown between Gimpo and Jeju airports. We then assess the estimation accuracy by comparing the estimated fuel consumption with the actual one collected from an airline. The computational results are quite encouraging in that the method is able to estimate the actual fuel consumption within ${\pm}6{\sim}11%$ of error margin. The limitations and possible enhancements of the method are also discussed.

        ADS-B를 이용한 착륙 항공기의 활주로 점유 시간 분석

        활주로 및 유도로는 항공기가 이착륙하기 위한 기본 시설로서, 활주로 처리 용량은 공항의 수용 능력을 결정하는 주요 지표 중하나이다. 항공기의 활주로 점유 시간은 이러한 활주로 처리 용량에 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 활주로 점유시간 확인을 위해서는 공항의 지상 감시 항적자료를 분석하여 항공기가 사용한 유도로를 확인하고 각 지점의통과 시간을 측정하는 것이 일반적인 방법이 다. 본 연구는 항공기에서 송신하는 ADS-B 메시지를 이용한 착륙 항공기의 활주로 점유 시간에 대한 연구로 착륙 항공기의 활주로 점유 시간에 대한 분석과 고속 탈출 유도로를 포함한 활주로 사용 이력에 대한 분석을 수행 하였다. 분석 결과 공항의 구조로 인하여 동일한 활주로를 사용할 때에도 착륙 방향과 항공기 등급에 따라 활주로 점유시간이 차이가 나는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 분석된활주로 점유시간은 항공교통시뮬레이션을 위한 기본 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다. Runway and taxiway is base facilities for aircraft take off and landing and runway capacity is one of major factor for airport capacity. Runway occupancy time is affect on the runway capacity. The identification of aircraft using taxiway by analysis of airport ground surveillance data and the measurement of pass time on the points is general method for the confirmation of the runway occupancy time. This study is runway occupancy time analysis of landing airplane using ADS-B message, in this study we surveyed landing aircraft runway occupancy time and analysis of serviced record using taxiway include rapid exit taxiway. The result of analysis is to confirm the different of landing direction and aircraft category on the same runway caused by structure of airport. Also the result of runway occupancy time analyzed data, it is base input data for the air transportation simulation.

        머신러닝(Machine Learning) 기법을 활용한 제주국제공항의 운항 지연과의 상관관계 분석 및 지연 여부 예측모형 개발 - 기상을 중심으로 -

        Due to the recent rapid increase in passenger and cargo air transport demand, the capacity of Jeju International Airport has been approaching its limit. Even though in COVID-19 crisis which has started from Nov 2019, Jeju International Airport still suffers from strong demand in terms of air passenger and cargo transportation. However, it is an undeniable fact that the delay has also increased in Jeju International Airport. In this study, we analyze the correlation between weather and delayed departure operation based on both datum collected from the historical airline operation information and aviation weather statistics of Jeju International Airport. Adopting machine learning techniques, we then analyze weather condition Jeju International Airport and construct a delay prediction model. The model presented in this study is expected to play a useful role to predict aircraft departure delay and contribute to enhance aircraft operation efficiency and punctuality in the Jeju International Airport.

        GIS-T 환경에서 시공간분석을 이용한 교통사고 특성 비교 -도로 폐쇄 전후비교를 중심으로-

        도로상에서 발생하는 교통사고의 원인을 정확하게 파악하기 위해서는 사고지점의 도로 기하구조, 교통시설물, 교통운영방식, 날씨 등 주변적 요인과 사고특성과의 상관관계가 시공간적으로 분석되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 도로 폐쇄 전후 교통사고의 특성을 비교하기 위하여, 미국 미주리주 교통부가 개발, 활용중인 통합교통관리시스템의 교통사고 자료 및 GIS기법을 이용하여 세인트루이스의 주요도로인 I-64 도로를 대상으로 분석을 하였다. 이러한 시공간적 분석은 일반적 통계분석으로 획득하기 어려운 공간적 특성을 용이하게 파악할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 분석을 통해 얻어진 결과는 추후 교통사고 감소를 위한 개선책 마련에 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 본 연구에서는 교통자료의 통합관리를 위해 개발된 통합교통관리시스템의 구성요소 및 자료의 특성을 살펴봄으로써, 향후 우리나라의 실정에 맞는 통합 교통 데이터 시스템 구축의 고려사항으로 삼고자 한다. Traffic safety assessment is often accomplished by analyzing the number of crashes occurring in some geographic space over certain specific time duration. In this paper, we introduce a procedure that can efficiently analyze spatial and temporal changes in traffic crashes before-and-after implementation of a certain traffic controlling measure. For the analysis, crash frequency data before-and-after closing a major highway around St. Louis in Missouri was collected through Transportation Management System(TMS) database that is maintained by Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). In order to identify any spatial and temporal pattern in crashes, each crash is pinpointed on a map using the dynamic segmentation in GIS. Then, the identified pattern is statistically confirmed using an analysis of variance table. The advantage of this approach is to easily assess spatial and temporal trend of crashes that are not readily attainable otherwise. The results from this study can possibly be applied in enhancing the highway safety assessment procedure. This paper also makes several suggestions for future development of a comprehensive transportation data system in Korea which is similar to MoDOT`s TMS database.
